Amusement Business reported November 5 that Heide Park will build a 412 ft. tall Intamin roller coaster. The coaster has not been named.

correct me here if need be...giga is 300 ft. and over up to 599'11"....at 600 ft comes tera....isn't that what has been stated before in the past???  like i said, correct me if i'm wrong....

honestly though...it may be high, but how it rides will decide whether or not it is a great coaster.  Mean Streak is a large coaster, but it beats the hell out of ya...is it a great coaster?

Newsflash... the prefixes are marketing devices and have absolutely zero to do with any kind of actual measurements. Let's not got there again, OK?

Hey sounds totaly awesome!! I bet Cedar Point is really kicking themselves in the rear now!!!! But it says 2003 on the layout  that means that CP has a year to work on plas for a even taller one!
That is crazy, but at the same time, really awsome!!!!
The Cedar Point obsession of this site is sickening.  All you people talk about is how cedar point needs to beat this now.  Please...
I have to agree with SFGRAMBoy20 on this one.  Why is it always Cedar Point this and Cedar Point that.  Why not Six Flags or Paramount?  Did anyone care to mention them?

So...you can't handle a rollercoaster huh? Well...you ARE the Weakest Link! Goodbye!

Ditto to scoaster
NE one up for a new coaster name? Like Ultra Coaster?
I don't think it skips over any of the ride, it's just really hard to follow with the split up picture.
Bunny hops are not unusual for intamin. All S:ROSs have them, as well as Expedition G-Force.

Looks like Heide Park has been saving for a while well good luck to them.  And I can't wait to see when America's 400+foot coaster will and where it might be built.
*drool*

I need to go to Germany now!!!!!

I can't believe this....the world's first Teracoaster....in the year 2002.  It is truly amazing how far we've come over the last 20 years...

I bet Anton Schwarzkopf is smiling down on this coaster! :)

We miss ya Anton!  All I can say is, Intamin, the wave of the future for coasters. :) :) :) :) :) :)

Good Times! Germany has gotten Collasus, Silverstar, Expedition GF, and now this. Hopefully American parks follow suit and build hypers (and beyond) like crazy. One thing, Cedar Point is not kicking themselves now... If that where true, then they'd already be kicking themselves because Magnum isn't the tallest anymore. (but are they? Nope.)Everyone knew that MF, and now SD2K would be beaten eventually, but that doesn't make them bad coasters.

this will be great, but i hope it's not just a HEIGHT coaster, i hope it turns out sweet... which it is INTAMIN and not MORGAN so they can't flub it up toooooo bad!

expedition ge-force, adn now this!

i guess i'll be there soon!!!!!!!!!!

What if you got stuck at the top?

Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable?
I hope they don't ruin the ride by slowing it down on the first drop. That would be ridiculous.. Also, if the ride is starting to be built in 2002 it may take until late in the year or the next year for it to be complete. I would have to believe that this record will be broken by a stateside coaster within 1 year of it's opening. After all, the US is the major player in the coaster industry. We have a ton of parks. It's just a matter of time before one pops up here.
scoaster...no one forgot about your parks.  "Why not Six Flags and why not Paramount?"  Well...for starters history shows that they rarely add anything completely unique to a single park, Especially Six Flags.  If they did add a 400 footer - it would no doubt be called Superman or Batman and then they'd build it at like 5 parks.  How predictable AND dull.

Wow.
I never figured that this record would be broken so soon.
I can't imagine 100 more feet on Millenium Force!
Not that I expect to go to Germany, but this is very nice!
