When did I ever say the Hammerhead Stahl would never materialize? Oh, that's right - *never*.
What I said was that the Orlando Sheraton cancelled all their ride projects. After that, there were a few parks interested in Vekoma's ride, but backed out when Vekoma couldn't deliver (believe it or not). I'm well aware Vekoma has built a prototype of the ride.
It's time to stop playing "know-it-all" when, it seems, you're actually quite clueless.

The Hammerhead seems to have had a long history and none have yet been built. First there was [1] the Orlando Hotel mentioned above which cancelled. Having built a prototype Vekoma wanted to get rid of it.
First point of call was [2] Six Flags Holland where I believe it was to be called Something like Tailspin Tommy (if I remember right). Following the problems with Deja Vu I believe the park cancelled, cancellation may have occured before then though. However the towers of the prototype still sitting at the Vekoma test site were converted to test improvements to the GIB cable system.
With Six Flags sueing the company they tried to getrid of all the rides they had pre-built. The Hammerhead was one such ride and with the park already in contact with Fantasy Island over Jubilee Odyssey, Fantasy Island snapped it up. However the ride was not in a ready to operate condition so work had to be done to make it work again. Fantasy Island ran out of time and delayed the ride from 2002 to 2003.
The park had a model of the ride on display earlier in the year but they has since disappeared. In fact the park has announced some other new rides for next year and didn't mention the hammerhead. Current rumours point to a cancellation so it looks like the story of the Hammerhead isn't over yet.
