Halfpipe coaster in finland.

I just read about this new kind of coaster and there's a video of it here: http://www.sarkanniemi.fi/tutustu/video_half_pipe2.html

Looks wierd, the seats spin in a circle slowly while it goes back and forth.

Oh great another debate is looming on wether this infact is or isn't a coaster.
Looks like a coaster to me... anybody have stats on it?

Just a small note, the vid is shoot at Intamin's testing facility or wherever they're testing their protos.

Well a nice addition for the park, i hope it'll give some airtime on the spikes.

It looks fun, but not for more than one ride. That would get old pretty fast, unless you spin fast at the top of one of the spikes.

I talked with the Dippin' Dots guy and he assured me that Cedar Point was to get that 10-inversion terra-woodie-invert-stand-up because Magnum is sinking. The current construction is for the new super-Dippin' Dots stall he is to run.

This probably is like the KMG AfterBurner.

I need to use the Pipi station.

Stats: 30 metres high, 70kph 16riders/board and 4.5 g's.

Themed to either a snowboard or a skateboard.

Well, It would be more exciting if it were 200+ feet high. Any installations of this thing coming soon?

Do u really think it is a coaster though? To some degree it is but it doesnt look more than anything but a flat ride...to me anyway. still looks really fun....

Is it LIM powered?

Totally unrelated to previous question:
If Impuses are coasters, I don't know how you couldn't call this a coaster.

-----------------

Yes it's powered by LIMs.

Why not just ride these things and have fun instead of questening ourself if it's a coaster or not? Makes life much easier :)

It looks boring to me.
It looks shockingly similar to a Vekoma prototype, The Hammerhead Stall (which is mentioned in the article), from a couple of years ago. Are you sure it's an Intamin?
-------------
Dude, you're getting an Intamin!

Looks like a hammerhead stall to me. Although I belive Intamin was working on a similar project and one of these was rumored to be ordered by a park. Look's like this is it.

Coming in 2003-The Spawn Of Magnum!
Ode to the offseason:
Offseason Offseason what shall I do? Who cares the sun is still shinging the sky is still blue! GET A LIFE!

The first thing that came to mind? Flat ride meets coaster.

Interesting to say the least. Looks like something the carnivals could take on.

2 superheroes in Gurnee next season? Oh the humanity. :)

it is an intamin version of the hammerhead stall coaster. the vekoma hammerhead stall should open at fantasy island, UK sometime in 2003.
Wasn't Vekoma supposed to build one at some mall project or something a few years back and the deal didn't work? By the way, is that whole big platform under the cars really nesessary?
