It is Wood on steel and has several tunnels including to the lifthill
The ride does seem to be steel-structured, but there only seems to be *one* tunnel so far, and it's *not* a tunnel to the lift.
Also, don't count on Avalanche opening in ten days. :)

also, why does michigan's adventure (a CCI) have so much wood on the sides?
The reason for steel over wood is cost and maintenance. It has nothing to do with a coaster's height. The three tallest woodies in the world [Colossus, Rattler, SOB] are all wood supported.
Michigan Adventure has two CCIs [three if you consider that Dinn Corp morphed into CCI] but I assume you're talking about Shivering Timbers. It has wood on the sides to give the ride support.
edit: I just noticed that the stats at rcdb for Avalanche have changed to 88' 6" tall and 2378' long. I believe the old stats were 76' tall and 2316' long.

I'm pretty sure the drop pictured on RCDB is, in fact, Hades' first drop. The way it seems to round out on top suggests, to me, that it's the top of a lift. I do not know how tall it stands, but remember that the tunnel is awfully deep.
