Great coasters that make for tough rerides...

Why in the world you want to re-ride the Boss anyway? ;)

You must be this dumb to ride Viper. -SFGAdv.
It was like that when I got here. -Me
B:TR at SFoG can be a nightmare too. But that coaster fluctuates so much I guess they need the que, cause it can go from a walkon to an hour in no time.

Because unlike many people out here, I happened to have loved the Boss the four rides that I got on it. It was my favorite coaster at SFStl.

Bob Hansen

Goal: Lose enough weight (50lbs) to ride Wicked Twister in 2K3
Progress: 18 pounds since 1-1-2003

I'm surprised no one mentioned Son of Beast. Sure the exit ends right at the queue entrance but it's not a short jaunt back to the station either, especially since it's a steady climb up.

X Factor

One of the easiest is Apollo's Chariot. Short line, and a short distance from entrance to exit.

You better scream now, because at 420 feet now one can hear you.

I find that the SROSs tend to have a harsh re-ride factor at certain points. After about 10 rides with a good amount of room between me and the lap bar, I start to develop Intamin bruises.

On S:RoS SFNE it takes a lot less than 10 rides for me, but the topic was more about queue layouts than rides themselves.

I think Hersheys Wildcat is a pain for reride. Sure the exit and enterances are close to each other but you need to walk all the way to the midway to do it. I always thought they should put a cut thru right after the photo building to the covered queue area since the two are close to each other. That way they can still get the business from people buying photos, and you wouldn't need to hike the extra distance.

I think the photo building location is the main reason why most parks don't have cut thrus for rerides. Let's face it, parks are out to make money either from food, admission, games, and photos. a cut thru before the photo shop would cut down on the number of people from each train that passes by (if the cut thru was open). For instance Talon. The photo building is at the midway so everyone needs to pass by to get to the enterance. Same with the Great Bear and Medusa.

I like the cut thru for the Grizzly at PKD. Down the ramp, then right out of the woods there's a gate you can open to get back in line. Saves walking thru the arcade and back down part of the queue.

The boss has a huge que line, and it stinks to re ride it.

Old arrows might be rough, but they are the most gorgous rides to date.

About this topic I want to talk about the que lines for the 3 big parks in my Area.

At Worlds of Fun the coaster que lines for the Orient Express, The Timber Wolf, and the Boomerang are preaty bad. At the Oreint Express you have to go up a big hill just to get to the que house, after a while of reriding to OE I tend to get worn out becasue of it. At the Boomerang the que line used to be very bad durring the first year of operation because the entrance made you walk through a whole bunch of stilts, they had fixed this but it is still quite a walk form the exit to get back into the line. In fact people have a hard time finding the entrance to the Boomerang. At the Timber Wolf the length from the exit to the entrance is a lil too long, you would have to walk all the way around Bicentennial Square just to get back to the entrance.

At SDC there issn't issues with the long ques hardly ever. A few of the rides at SDC have 2 que lines, such as the rides like Lost River of the Ozarks and ThuNderaTion. These quelines set up for these rides can make it tough for rerides at times while at other times it issn't. Over at WildFire they have an overflow que system, where the entrance to Wildfire can be in various areas, like down at the bottom of the hill or at the entrance to Doc Harris Workshop. This queline system is very reride freindly. The worst que line at SDC has to be for the Wilderness Waterboggon, You have to walk up steps about 5 stories to get on the ride, also the length from the exit of the ride to the entrance is a very, very long ways. This issn't a problem if you had already been through the cave. :-)

At Six Flags St. Louis the lines for the coasters there can be very bad if they don't have the turnaround gates opened for the lines. At Batman the Ride the stilts can be very annoying to walk through, However this can be fixed by makeing the exit to the ride an entrance for less busy days, just like SDC does at Thunderation on those days. At Mr freeze and The Boss, it is a long walk to get on the ride but SFStL needs to make good use of the turn arounds to fix this problem. The worst que line I found at SFStL has to be for the Screaming Eagle, As you exit the ride you have to walk all the way around a games area, down some steps and walk up a lil ways to get back the the entrance of the ride. I also found the Screaming Eagle que to be hard to get out of when your already in line. On my trip down to SFStL in October I was stuck in the que line for the Eagle and the ride ops wouldn't let me out to the exit.

This is all I have to say about those 3 parks and their que line systems.

I disike when there is no line for a ride, but the walk to get back on is so long. If every coaster was easy to re-ride, I would have a much higher count on certan coasters. One is Batman The Ride at Sfgadv, aswell as Nitro, and Medusa which have huge exit ramps that make you walk back, and forth at least 5 times, before you are even back on the ground level. Steel Force at Dorney park has a long walk from its exit to its entrance too, you have to go down a whole lot of stairs, then walk all the way around, and go up the stairs again, but most of the time if you find urself walking back around remember it is all for a good ride, and well worth any walk over a 3hr line any day.

I think I will take the opposite tact, and say Coaster at PNE Playland in Vancouver BC. After one ride, you will want to re-ride, but you will be afraid to.... ;)
