Great coasters that make for tough rerides...

Does AE at SFGA have a shortcut back to the ride?

No, the queue is the same format, but is lacking a re-ride door. I check sometimes. However, all of SFGAm's Arrows do (except Demon and possibly Splash Water Falls, I'm not sure on that.) Roaring Rapids, Shock Wave, Ice Mountain Falls, and Logger's Run all do. Wait, now I'm not sure about IMF and LR now.

To restate, I KNOW RR and SW have/ had them, and maybe LR and IMF.

Oh god how crazy the off season has made me.

After thinking about this topic more, I've come up with a few other coasters that have an excellent "reride" layout. Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa has the exit right next to the entrance. Also, Top Gun at Paramount's Kings Island has a gate 1/2 way through the queue you can use if the line is empty. On the other hand, Magnum XL-200's exit is an eternity away from the entrance.

The only difference between stupidity and genius is genius has limitations.

S:RoS' queue is insanely long but it is very easy to make it shorter by the movable switch back poles.

Kraken at SWO has a pretty bad layout for re-rides. They really made the queue too long for a coaster that doesn't have anywhere near the crowds needed to fill it, ever. The only good thing is that they will let you change to another seat of the train if it is empty so you can reride immediately. This seems to be true for all the Universal and Busch parks in Florida. I've never encountered a problem getting an immediate reride if the train has an empty seat.

BTW, I wouldn't try this immediate re-ride thing on Hulk for too long. I once got 8 rides without getting off the same car. Not a good idea. The lack of a traditional lift hill combined with all those inversions allow for a lot of laps in a very limited time and don't give you enough "breather" time to recover.

Chang has a "bad" layout, too. After you get off, you walk down stairs, wind your way to a gift shop, then walk all the way back through the que. Never gotten a re-ride on that one.

I think one of the best is B:TR at SFGAm. When there's no line, it takes maybe a minute to get from the exit back to the entrance (to the station, that is). Other re-rideable coasters include Mean Streak at Cedar Point (not that you'd actually want to do this), Corkscrew, Iron Dragon, and Blue Streak.

When it comes to bad, though, my winner would have to be SFGAm's Viper's origianl queue. Think it's bad now? Please recall when both the line and the exit went all the way back to the Orbit, and had no snaking what so ever that could be roped off. We're talking about a third of a mile walk, here!

I hear America screaming...

Hersheys Wildcat exit is right next to the entrance, the Comets exit and entrance aren't to far apart, and on Great Bears you have to hike up hill but it's not that bad. Dorney's Talon has a pretty bad re-ride layout.

Have you ever ridden Riddler?

Yep. Many times. The station is only bad if you want to ride front. If you're going to ride back or near the back, it's usually only a one or two train wait (because of the slant of the lines).

Oh, and DD has to be one of the worst, even though the queue is totally awesome.

Yes, AE at SFGAm does have a very long line to walk through. However, if you catch the ops in a good mood on a rainy night you might just get to ride it 10 times in a row without even exiting your seat. Doesn't matter how long the queue line is if they let you stay on the coaster.
While the exit of Viper at SFGAm is a hike, it is a nice hike at that. You literally can get an upclose shot of Raging Bull descending down the first hill into the tunnel. While it would also be nice for the exit to come out where the entrance is, I believe the idea is for you to walk through the store in hopes of buying merchandise.

Mean Streak is possibly the worse coaster to try to reride. The exit ramp goes back and forth several times, it is a long way away from the queue entrance, and then the passage under the coaster to get back to the station lasts for an eternity. I've thought about reriding it several times, but my feet can't take all the running involved added on top of all the walking throughout the day.
I also think that The Legend is a ride that is hard to reride several times without a break. It's just so intense that it can take a lot out of you.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

Mantis used to be pretty bad when the entrance was on the other side of the train tracks. They moved them to the same side as the exit though a few years ago.
I think Mean Streak's eternally long queue is a blessing in disguise. If I ever find myself at CP with someone who actually wants to re-ride Mean Streak (*cough* vacoasterfreak *cough*) I can always use the excuse "Oh you go ahead without me..it's a long walk back there and I'm tired.." Heck, at CoasterMania last year the ride ops were practically bribing us to re-ride. ;)
Talon absolutely has the longest Exit and Entrance Que. Reriding on this coaster is a pain in the ass, but just the incredible ride it gives is worth any walk!

Viper at SFDL gets my vote for "I wanna Ride but don't feel like walking 10 miles to ride it" award. It Exits on the total opposite side of the ride and the que is like a mile long. It never even has 20 people in line. I don't know why....
The best , if I remember correctly is California Screamin', exit ride next to the entrance, same with Viper at SFMM. RR takes the cake though. It usually takes me about 7 minutes from station exit to station entrance, that is if it were completely empty. X has a shortcut, 'nuff said.

Is it a dream or a memory? It's both, it's X

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ghostrider yet. Long distance from exit to the entrance, with no-rerides allowed. You can use the handicapped entrance on the first story, but thats kind of up to you...

I'm so happy that you are allowed to remain in-train for rerides on Xcelerator! That would be a really long walk... :)

Talon...

I think Nitro is worse than Talon. Almost all of Talon's queue can be cut off on slow days, whereas Nitro's can only cut off the huge chunk at the front.

Comet's entrance and exit used to be right next to each other, they changed it in the seventies when they implimented the POP at Hershey.
