Golden Ticket's Getting announced tommorrow!

S:ROS @ SFDL holding at #9!

------------------
Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

Now y'all know that I'm not the biggest believer in rankings as some of my favorites (e.g. Hercules) will never top these lists. But I get a perverse thrill seeing that my #3 (Son of Beast) beat out such "enthusiast favorites" as Wild One (SFA), Cyclops & Zeus, and even Screechin' Eagle (The Park Formerly Known as Americana).

---Way to go Lightning Racer!

How do you all know the winners? When I go to the site it says that they haven't been announced yet.

------------------
1-S:RoS @ SFNE
2-Boulder Dash
3-Yankee Cannonball

I'm still a little confused as to whether Magnum or Expedition GeForce is 3rd...

I knew eventually S:RoS (SFNE) would make it to No.1 since everyone praises it so much. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to ride it yet.

I still think that The Legend is being robbed blind by not being in the No. 1 spot. It's WAY better than The Raven. If you ride them one right after the other there is simply no contest.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

I'm glad to see coasters that deserve first get first. However, what the hell's up with Desperado even being in the top 50? Seems a bit odd, especially when coasters like Medusa West and other standouts aren't even ranked.

I'm glad to see that S:RoS at SFNE did so well. It truly deserves that top spot. Sure it doesn't have Millie's speed, but it's layout rocks. Find me a hill that doesn't have airtime!
Why doesnt Boulder Dash get as much praise....i know it made #3 and im really happy about that but on Coaster Grotto its rated only an 8.8....what the hell....lol.

But as for the golden tickets they were just about right on this year on everything....i dont really know why apollos chariot is always higher than nitro, but theyre both similarly good....everything else is great :)\

S:ROS deserved that spot all 3 years...its nice to see they finally have it.

I agree completely. I rode both for the first time this year at SRM and even though Raven is great fun, I give Legend the nod due to it being longer.

am I the only person dissapointed at seeing MF be knocked from it's #1 postion? Although I've never ridden either coaster (this will all change as of monday) MF seems like a much more thrilling ride to me.

Don't judge before you ride. Just because Superman isn't as tall doesn't mean it isn't as thrilling.

I want to know what's the deal with Magnum?

Woohoo! Thunder Run at #35! I have something of a soft spot for ol' "Thundie." I also find it slightly amusing that SOB is tied with a wild mouse. :)

Not that it matters, but I'm curious if votes were cast based on rides taken only in 2003, or all-time. That's the only way I can imagine Mean Streak making the list, or Magnum retaining such a high spot. I rode Magnum twice in May and experienced some severe washboarding. When I rode it five years ago, it was perfection.

It also seems like the GT awards are getting closer in line with the Internet Wood and Steel Coaster poll rankings. A few years back, the GT awards seemed to heavily favor sentimental favorites over newer, enthusiast favorites.

Come on fhqwhgads!

I dunno I'm acutally suprised that a few of the coasters still stay in the top ten (Magnum and PR) and how the heck does SM UE rank 47 and WT rank 50, not that it matters but WT is a far better version of that type of ride. Also how the heck is CP's Blues Streak and Mean Streak even hit the top 50, those have to be two of the worst wood coasters in the world, then you have KW's Racer and JR which are good but rather tame but were is CLP's Blue Streak, or even the Big Dipper at SFWOA.

But maybe TTD being #11 and MF dropping to #2, CP will see height and speed doesn't make a great ride alone, not that either suck MF is tied for my fav. personally the lift hill of MF is the best part, that freaks so many people out alone.

But I guess this is like Collge football eveyone favors there local parks and no body agress with the polls.

Well I mean people are going to vote for Magnum just because of its popularity. Not to say that isn't a good ride but what a lot of these polls are, is like high school elections. You don't always pick the person best for the job, you pick the person you know the most about (which in case, is the person who is the most popular). Same with coasters.

Wow.. Just wow to that.

Chris **first of all I agree with you ranking things**, as far as what I care about, I only care about people's ranking of coasters if I know the person.

As far as obsession with #1 rankings, that's completely derived (only talking about me) from my adoration of collegiate athletics. I love college football and basketball especially, therefore, the title of #1 to me whether it's coasters, sports teams, or favorite Willy Wonka candy is a good thing.

Brian, who was happy to see MF knocked out of first place. It's a fun coaster, but SFNE RoS is just plain raw.

Snap: Millie was in first since 2000, and only now is in second. Aside from the fact that this is an opinions poll, second place is much better than most parks can claim. I have no idea what the official attendance records were for Millie's first year, and what they will be at the end of this year, but I can assure you that attendance jumped in 2000, and if it weren't for downtime with Dragster this year, it would do the same. Enthusiasts might not care about height and speed, but the hype that the two generate almost always do a park's attendance figures good.

I'm really surprised about some of the wooden coaster rankings...where is my beloved Big Dipper from SFWoA!!?!! Nice to see that Magnum is holding it's ground, but I'm very surprised that X and TTD didn't rank higher. I guess that those rides are the most thrilling, but not necessarily the most fun...(they are for me though!)
