Golden Ticket's Getting announced tommorrow!

http://www.amusementtoday.com/GoldenTicket/the_list.html

I am really excited to see if Raven can hold up t Shivering Timbers, Last year it had a 50 point lead, which is pretty high. So I am completely routing for Raven, and I honestly beleive that Raven on a horrible day is 20 times better than Shivering Timbers. (If you had seen my underrated/overrated post you should know I think Timbers is overrated). I'd like to see if Ozark Wildcat gets on the list, although since it is new a bit unlikely. I think Cornball Express should climb about 15 spaces to #2 (Although I just by a hair actually like Cornball Express over Raven). I thimk the boss should drop some, and the Villain Should rise sum. On steel I'd like to Xcelerator get onto the list, as well as Wildfire, I also would like to see MF hand over its tital as #1 but that is unlikely since it is 73 points ahead of S:ROS SFNE. What do you want to see.

Georgia Cyclone to the top 10 even though it's my #1. It's just too intense for some.

im having trouble deciding my #1 steel. ive been on the top 6 or so from last year and im still leaning on mf being #1, its just soo fast and soo smooth. i get off the ride everytime with tears in my eyes, laughing. smros was great, but it just isnt as smooth as mf, it felt kind of rickety at points, same with darien lake's. i think nitro deserves to stay where it is, great ride all the way.

apollo's chariot has no business being in the top 10 though. rode it twice, back and front and thought it was boreing and slow. id like to see sfwoa's batman or medusa, both are great, original rides.

Wow this is going to be exciting, I cant wait to see if TTD will make it straight into the #1 spot. Just with my luck though, i'm driving out to Virginia tomorrow for a week so i probably wont know until i come back. I have no doubt TTD will make it to #3 atleast.

TTD is NOT my number one. MF is!! There's a reason it was best in 2002.

Rearrange that and you get...
Millenium Force!

Well....I've ridden the top 5 coasters and all I can say is that TTD should be no 1.....It just blows everything else away.....second should be MF then Sros @ SFNE and so on....at least thats My list....

as for wood....I've only ridden 1 top 10 wooden...actualy former top 10...The Comet at the Great escape....which was no.11...which Is where i think lightning racer at Hershey should be
------------------
I traveled a total of 6 hrs just to ride TTD....and it was woth it

If TTD even makes the top 10, I'd say that's a slap in the face to the other coasters on that list. I personally feel that launched coasters have created an entirely new genre all of their own and should almost get their own list. I don't think that you can even compare launchers to the feeling you get on a looper, which doesn't compare to the feeling on a hyper/giga. Notice how many loopers are actually in that top list from last year? Very few.

Edit: opinion removed.

Who cares what you consider number one? In fact, why do you need to have a #1 at all? There are a handful of rides I consider my favorites, but I don't see much need to pick one as better than the others.

I have exactly the same feeling as you Jeff. I have never wanted to pick one above the rest, it just doesn't seem right. Where one coaster is strong, one is weak, whereas it can go opposite. I either choose it as good, bad, or a favorite. No #1, 2, 3... for me..

OK now im pissed! Tremors should be at the top! IT's so much better than raven!

I've always been into ranking things.

When I was a kid, I used to keep lists of my favorite songs, and then compare them to Casey Casum's (sp?) and Dick Clark's weekly countdowns.

It's the same for me with coasters.

Why have a number one? Because its fun for discussion. You can present your number one to the masses, have a good laugh and a high five with those who agree, get into an arguement with those who wholehartedly disagree (in my case, I get more of these than the former) and maybe give others an inspiration to ride something they might not have ridden before (like those on my list since they're rather different from most). But I guess that's not something that's supposed to be on this site ... as I said, opinion removed.

When it comes to WOOD (the real stuff, LOL), I can't really distinguish that well....I have a group of wooden coasters that I love SO much I'd push old ladies in wheelchairs outta my way to get to the station...if it's in THAT group, I call it "top-tier" and leave it at that.

With STEEL, basically, I enjoy a lot of them, and don't really CARE as much (sorry, I am an admitted woodie snob)....but, RoS and X stand out away from the rest of the crowd....

bill, happy he got some of those GOOD rides on X, since it sounds like its deteriorating, again...

"Well, nothing fancy, mostly just ones and zeroes"...;)

It's about time Superman New England rated #1. It is pure coaster perfection. MForce, while a terrific coaster, cannot hold a candle to it. Superman easily ranks light years ahead of any other coaster I have ever ridden.

I think the real question is "who care's what somebody else's #1 is." Are you suddenly going to stop liking a ride because some person, group, poll put it lower then you would?

I just don't understand why everything has to turn into a competition.

I think all coasters are very nice :)

Me. Not because it's going to change my opinion of a ride, but because I think that polls and the discussion/debate they bring up are interesting.

I agree with Bill about wood and steel. SROS at SFNE easily beats any steelie though I've been on. It's just oozing with greatness that wouldn't even allow Nitro, Apollo, MF, or Bull in for consideration. There is absolutely no need to pick a favorite. You can have 1 or 159 favorites. It doesn't have to make any of the others seem any less important or useless. Space Mountain isn't in my top 10, but I get just as hyped up to ride it as I would anything else.
