I don't count Soak City as park of "CP" until they're included in a single-price-general-admission. As in, there's not even an option to have the waterpark not included.
Btw, a park in Ohio has already done "all of the above" for the well-rounded park experience... And it's called Paramount's Kings Island.
Thanks for your 2 cents. Accept my/our currency as well.

Okay, I'll bite. Yes, he did try to correct your opinions, but he did not get sarcastic. If you want the honest truth, the post I just wrote was directed at far more people than just yourself.
Then perhaps quoting me and including my screen name in your response wasn't the best approach.
I'm sorry if I in some way offended you...
And I as well.
...but I have to say that this site is notorious for having some of the meaner members. I am quite surprised at how many people here have overinflated opinions of themselves. I'll leave you out of that group, but from now on, please don't get sarcastic as a retaliatory gesture.
Life sucks. Eat a cookie. :)
Actually, I took great exception to your response (both personally and in general)
You implied many things in that post that I flat out was not guilty of:
sirloindude said:1. I'm sick of people acting like the fact that they've ridden hundreds of coasters allows them to talk down to those who've ridden less.
2. Also, I'm sick of people telling others that their opinions are wrong.
3. Polls are wrong, Lord Gonchar. I don't know if you've been paying attention lately, but if you take the Golden Tickets for example, you'll see that polls are about as meaningful as your vitamin and poison comment. Don't act like you're above us. It's people like you who can't have fun at parks other than your favorite.
4. Remind us from now on that we need to check with you before we talk about rides we like so that you can tell us if they are really enjoyable or not.
Gee, I'm not sure how the whole last half of that rant wasn't directed squarely between my eyes, but if you say so. Anyway, some responses for you:
1. Point me to one post where any regular on this site has acted as such.
2. See #1. There's a difference between disagreement of opinion and telling someone they're wrong.
3. I couldn't agree more which is why if you go back and actually comprehend my post, I specified my ballot in Mitch's poll. Mine. Lord Gonchar's. Not the results. I'm still expressing difference of opinion, not using poll results as fact. You missed the point entirely.
Then the "don't think you're above us" comment!? Oh Christ! Come on. Since when is defending an opinion (the very thing you're agruing in favor of) some sort of conceit?
On top of all of that you choose to tell me what kind of enthusiast I am (again, pretty hypocritical in context). WTF does that mean? I'm the type of enthusiast that can't have any fun at any parks but my favorites? Did I ever once say GL wasn't fun? DId I ever say GL wasn't one of my favorites? You claim to know it's about fun - then you surely know there's more to a park than the quality of it's coasters. Just because I dislike a couple of GL's coasters and find the rest to be in the average range doesn't mean I don't have fun.
You know, I appreciate the generalizations, stereotyping and putting words in my mouth. That's exactly the kind of useful post we need around here. To hell with sarcasm, let's all just be ignorant!
...and you play me off like the bad guy. Heh.
Can we get back to the waterpark whining now? It was much more enjoyable when people b*tched at GL rather than me. :)

Gonch, I do think this year you need to give Big Dipper another shot. From what I've read lately, you last rode it towards the end of Six Flags' reign, and yea, it was bad then. But this year, the thing was haulin', the airtime was great, the trains are well padded, it's worth the time for a second opinion. If you still don't like it after next year (assuming it's like this one), well then there's no pleasing you
Yeah, between this and Rob's Big Dipper Love Thread - I've kind of established that. Lots of people saying it's finally back up to par after a few bad years. I was planning a trip to GL sometime next year, but since I'm the type of enthusiast that can't have fun at any park but my favorites I'm not sure I will now. :)
Aww crap! There goes that sarcasm again. My apologies for singlehandedly making this the most hated site on the internet with my cunning use of not so funny sarcasm.
People don't go to the Breakers (or any of the Resort hotels) specifically for Soak City. People don't stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge specifically to go to Blizzard Beach.
But in both cases people may choose to stay an extra night because there is something else attractive to do nearby. If you think the three relatively small pools at the Breakers are a substitute for Soak City then I think you are not being realistic.
I heard if first hand from Mr. Kinzel many years ago, the excitement and growth at Cedar Point revolves around the expansion of the resort and his words have been realized in the past several years...and I expect we will continue to see it. Breakers Express has room for expansion. The Bon Air wing of the original Breakers is due for a complete overhaul. The Greentree is still a prime piece of property. I didn't even mention the purchase of the Marina near the Radisson but that wasn't an insignificant acquisition.
Castaway Bay will make NO difference to the bottom line of the former Radisson in the summer months. They are looking at making that hotel profitable in the winter. But, it isn't going to be a significant boost to Cedar Fair revenues in the long run. The problem with the Radisson was that it was a year round property that really only produced during the summer. But, they had to have a significant full time staff which means year round employment. To offset those costs Castaway Bay was built to improve the occupancy rate in the winter months.
As for "roasting newbies". I don't know where you get the notion that I make a game out of that but I don't. *** Edited 11/16/2004 1:22:05 PM UTC by wahoo skipper***
I highly doubt that if we have another summer like this past one, or worse, that Castaway Bay will be completely overshadowed by Soak City.
EDIT: The SFSL thread I was referring to is NOT the most recent thread with SFSL as a subject. *** Edited 11/16/2004 2:29:30 PM UTC by sirloindude***
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
hell, i spent 4 days in the geauga campground this last summer, and had a great time. we would go to the waterpark, even though it wasn't huge, and spent more than half the day in the waterpark, then back to camp for lunch, relax a bit, head back over for the rest of the park in the evening. i had a blast, why? cause every park doesn't have to be CP just to have a good vacation. i guess some people around here are all about riding coasters nonstop till they leave, instead of just enjoying everything a park has to offer. why don't you haters just stay at CP and keep your mouths shut.
if CP doesn't add a new coaster for 05, lookout, it might be boring!!!! (sarcasim) i have been going to GL for the past 14 years. every single time i stayed over a night or two in a hotel or campground. then i would go to sea world on the last day. now a huge new waterpark will be there. fantastic. and funny enough is that kennywood is my hometown park, and i would rather drive to GL. more rides, better rides, (sorry but i can only ride kangaroo so many times before its like my god this is stupid) sorry, my opinion, not yours.
its a small ass park, and too expensive for the garbage they do have. i'm sure that since it's my hometown park that is why i've grown to hate it, but kennywood is old school, and i'm tired of old school. geauga is both. sure, kennywood has phantom and exterminator, but compared to the list of rides and shows GL has and will have in the future, i'm not looking back. goodbye kennywood, you can keep your ignorant ass security guards and shove em.
it isn't as bad as six flags employees, but a lady security guard got smart with me at the front gate, *****ing cause i couldn't hear her over the screaming kids. so she gets nasty with me about going through the gay ass metal detectors, and i say what? excuse me? gun? she said gum, but i couldn't hear, so i thought she said gun, and i get reemed out for being a punk who needs to just push forward before he makes a big mistake. i said WOW, that just ruined my day. i only stayed at the park for an hour before leaving cause all i wanted to do is strangle the security biotch. never goin back, cause i've had that on more than one occasion. and i'm sick of it. so hello geauga and CP as my new places to be. under cedar fair, i've never had that kind of rudeness. you'll can love kennywood all you want, and with me gone, there will be one less person in line for all of you to wait behind. have fun. *** Edited 11/16/2004 8:34:30 PM UTC by geaugalake2005***

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.
Obviously Kennywood's security is doing it's job if it's keeping you out GL05!
wonk wonk wonk...going through the gay ass metal detectors...wonk wonk wonk
You know I always suspected those metal detectors were gay. The one closest to guest relations always has it's eye on me. Then regardless of how many times I go through it always beeps so I have to keep going in and out of it. One time I practically had to strip down to nothing to get through it.
It's all so obvious now. I feel so violated. :)
didn't know i had to be of perfect grammar to enjoy theme parks
You don't. But out of respect for your own ideas and opinions as well as respect for others trying to interpret those ideas, you should do your best to make sure they're conveyed in a manner consistent with their validity.
Come to think of it, in this case, I think you succeeded.
Plus, it's part of the TOS (the whole grammar/effort thing)
