Geauga Lake 2005: Midnight, Tonight!

^ Leave it to you Jeff to send me crashing back to reality. ;)

Just playing devil's advocate, Ray. I tried to throw in a Snitsky reference, but couldn't come up with one. :(

Doing one particular thing isn't a cure-all. Six Flags thought that would be the case with the "solutions" you mentioned, but in reality I think it's a combination of pricing, customer service and attractions. We know which one in particular was a miserable failure from Six Flags.

Much as I'm not a really big fan of waterparks as I'm too busy riding coasters, I must agree that it was a better decision than a new coaster from the business perspective. A whole new disgustingly huge coaster will bring back a few of the locals who may not have visited recently and those of us with nothing better to do than sit around talking about things that most of us can't experience for a few months now. Not too many "uneducated" guests would notice a new coaster. At least a waterparks attracts more guests because there is something for everyone in the family. Some massive hyper will attract only the brave ones in the family. Also, waterparks have much better capacity and make more money from things like more souveniers and possibly tube rentals.

Here's one for you Uncle Coaster. You could say that GL's attendance figures fell faster than Raw's ratings do during a Gene Snitsky match! ;)

Ouch, Ray.

How about this: With Cedar Fair's direction and class, Geauga Lake has as much potential as Gene Snitsky.

I think w/ the cheaper price, people will be willing to make multiple visits (two!)... add up the two days... plus parking... and the in-park spending and i would think you have a good outlook even w/ such a huge price drop and "giving away the gate"... more families are being catered = more big spenders for cedar fair. With a high price point like before, families are less likely to even make the single visit, and most definitly wouldn't make a second... but w/ this price point, I think they will have a good season.

kudos.

Imagine if the new waterpark was so successful that it brought in enough revenue to pay for a slew of new rides?

Harder to imagine the new waterpark *not* being successful...

As for the "slew of new rides", I doubt CF would suddenly *go all Six Flags* on the place...they'll grow the park slow and steady, it's a formula that seems to have worked QUITE well for them over the years...

As for "waterpark capital of the World" title, I won't get to the Dells until next year....but for now, New Braunfels head-and-shoulders above EVERYPLACE I've been to...:):):)

Scheissbahn baby! (/inside joke)...;)

So how long until CF really makes the park their and adds a Camp Snoopy?
I'm sure in due time they will. Gotta just give them time to add some other things ;)
Camp Snoopy will happen before the new coaster, if i were a betting man. add the characters this year, next year finish the waterpark, year after that Camp Snoop doggy dog and then the new coaster and new flats in the next 2 seasons then and wham bam thank you ma'am you made almost everyone happy

Watch the tram car please....
I woldnt be suprised if they turned the loney toones boom town into Camp Snoopy. That area is extremly SF'sh and the area is not very appealing. A camp Snoopy would be great there, because its right on the lake and its a little bit seperated from the rest of the park. Camp Snoopy would also get rid of the concret Jungle feeling that currently ocupies that area.
Although I'm sure that one of the kid's areas (probably the former Loony Toons area) will receive a "Peanuts" makeover in the near future, something tells me that it might not be a "Camp Snoopy", but themed a little differently to differentiate it from Cedar Point a little.

Also, although Snoopy and the gang can be found at Michigan's Adventure, there's no "Camp Snoopy" or any other land themed to them in the park yet. Just a gift shop. And Snoopy's been there a few years now.

Well MIA always seems to be at the bottom of the CF chain. Any Idea if the other parks have a Camp Snoopy? I know DP & CP do, but what about VF, KBF, WOF. MIA & GL (duh) do not.

Forget the new coaster. How about a Snoopy themed log ride ala Ripsaw falls? Either CP or GL needs to get one!
KBF invented the idea of Camp Snoopy, and it spread from there.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Happy Harbor turns into "Snoopy's Happy Harbor," or even "Snoopy's Rainbow Island" in a few seasons. The second choice I think would be the better choice, it would link the past history of the park with the present CF ownership.

As much as i'd like to see that, i doubt it'll be a 'rainbow island' The potential for controversial is rather great, expecially for a family park.
i wanna see Flying Scooters that have a snoopy and red baron theme.
