"Forgotten CCI's"

I was the Rob he was referring to... I guess I should continue to ask people to refer to me by my maiden name. :)

Ravenguy, I was being sarcastic, I know it was just an arguement. But I must disagree, the line between an arguement and flaming is ever so thin. It is all about perception, one person may view a comment in a much different manner from you or anyone else.

One forgotten CCI that has not even been mentioned yet is Medusa at SF Mexico. Looks like a fantastic layout but I am willing to bet many haven't ridden it due to the location of the park. If anyone has ridden Medusa, please respond with some comments about the mexican serpent?

I love that POV of Medusa. It looks amazing. I wonder what kind of love it gets in Mexico (no racist comments, please)?

I'd wager it gets more love than the Taco Bell chulupa....

Morey's is great and im sure bpb is too. Why cant we all just get along. :)

Touch The Sky

Excalibur is one coaster that will probably never get the love it deserves.

And kill the dog, but keep those tasty chalupas.

You are bold, but are you also...daring?

2hostyl, I don't think PETA would like us massacring innocent little animals(almost extinct), I think Barney is enough:)

-----------------

PT300 I agree Excalibur just doesn't get the love it deserves, of course I think we're talking about two seperate coasters, but its all good.

Excalibur Crew for 2002!

Personally, I think that PETA and the ASPCA can go to hell in a handbasket wearing gasoline soaked drawers. I cannot get with a group that is so adamant about "animal rights" when there are so many *human* problems in the world now. But that is just my "pigheaded" opinion.

I guess that was too political for y'all....

No, that was right on the money.... oh, and by the way, why does the government "tell us" when they are stopping the around-the-clock jet fighter coverage of NY? Wouldn't it be smarter to have the terrorists thinking they are still watching everything? ....but I digress....

Yeah, Excalibur is great in my book, and the lines are short because of Wild Thing.... (is that the ride you are referring to?)

nasai, that'd be the one. Be sure to say hi if you swing by VF this season.

Excalibur Crew for 2002!

Just to throw my opinion on top of all of this. I've never been to either Morey's or BPB. But I personally don't think it's a contest. I someday must visit Blackpool, but to miss Morey's is not a problem in my book. So they have more flat rides and such. So what. Other than Great White they offer NO rides that I can't find somewhere else at least close to what Morey's has. I''ve heard great things about Morey's log flume, but other than that what is original? BPB has some classic coasters, do I really need to remind people that they have the only remaining Steeplechase and maybe the only remaining wooden wild mouse. Not to mention the classic woodies like Grand National and the Dipper. A CCI, a SLC and a Boomerang just don't compare. And I also don't care about if you can swin in the ocean (sea) or not, we're talking about the park not the beach. IMO there is no comparison and there won't be until Morey's really starts to put up some top quality rides.

p.s. A good SLC is still a SLC in the end, so what.

2Hostyl, I whole-heartedly agree with you on that one, It disgusts me to even suggest that the rights of animals should be put ahead of humans. BTW, have you seen PETA advertisements? Very demented and bizarre. Yet one is kind of arousing...

I don't hate the chulpa dog, I hate the unoriginal and redoundant advertising execs at Taco Bell. The new commercials are even more agaitating than ever.

I must say though I plan to head south of the border for the Mexican serpent. Even if I have to get smuggled over in a unpleasant manner.

No, actaully it was the CCI woodie at Funtown USA, but I'm sure that one is great too!

Incidentalist:

There is one very important thing to remember... It is easier for most of us to get to Wildwood NJ than it is to get to England.

Besides... I do not believe that many of these posts were intending to tear down BPB... but rather to state that, contrary to some popular opinions, Morey's is not simply a collection of carnival rides, but rather can hold its own compared to major parks in this country (and SF parks, with the proximity of SFGrAdv were the primary comparison).

Does Morey's have all original rides? No... but not every one is so elitist as to insist that a park must have original and unique rides to be good. Going by that theory, the number of "good parks" has suddenly dropped to a handful.

P.S. A good coaster (even an SLC) is still a good coaster in the end. So there.

SLFAKE has it right, at least as I see it... this wasn't supposed to be a Morey's vs. BPB debate, but simply defend Morey's when it comes to those who think that the place is an overgrown carnival of sorts. While most of the flat rides and coasters can indeed be found at many other parks, lets not forget the often-mentioned Zoom Phloom, two custom waterparks, the monorail rides that are intertwined with one of them, and numerous go-kart tracks in pretty odd locations (under the pier, under the coaster structure etc.)

As I have said before, one of the best things about Morey's is the wonderful location. The rides are good and superbly maintained, but the atmosphere really makes it an experience for me.

Oh, one ride(story) I barely ever mention. On a trip down to San Andreas we had to make an "unscheduled" landing in Mexico because of a storm near the island. Well, I didn't get to see my blood-relatives, but I did get to meet a cousin of Six Flags :) . The ride itself is in a perfect/terrible setting. To reach Medusa(or any of the rides), you'd virtually need hiking shoes, no thanks to the hills of the Sierra Madres. The way the ride nests on the hillsides provides big drops in unexpected places especially the last drop, that was sweet. The trees and the huge structure that you pass through are like natural tunnel and supreme head choppers. The ride turns from its twisted layout and leaves of into some swooping dives and hill through the forest only to enter the twisted side for one last turnaround. Unfortunately, Six Flags has kind of ruined yet another woodie again, it was pretty smooth, but what was with those trims they added to the second big drop? The ride had only been in operation for three years when I rode it. It probably would have been a little intense on those tight diving drops on the second half, but that doesn't mean to kill all the speed. It took a major affect on the drop before the last major turnaround when you comeback through the structure because after all those low hill you come back up a high turn at the most rediculous speed. It's a great woodie, but I would never have put it in Six Flags hands.

By the way, have weeds become a major part of the Gotham theme? Six Flags realy loved to use it on SFM's Batman:The Ride, as they did with Batwing as well. If Six Flags is building two B&M Batman Inverteds now, why couldn't they have given a little more effort into the Batman:The Ride down there? I mean except for the drop tower and front area of the section, there is little to none of the Batman themeing, they should have just done with something original or the Mind Eraser trend instead of just giving them a chip of the block. It's like puting up a beautiful sign and theme imediately following it is a mile ling path through the weeds.
