I don't think Elysburg is ready for upscale condos and high-end retail shoppes!
hey they moved the 1st webcam to a new spot and i have to say this is a great view of what there "about to put up"/ "construct" gotta love the view and detail too!
~Seth
yeah, I'm glad they changed the view, since I didn't take any new pics of those footers when I was there, and I was going to ask why there were 3 rows. Also, Flying Turns was completely added to the 2006 map and looks pretty cool on there too.
hey the knoebels flying turns website has new pictures along with new videos but the videos are not working :( but i thought i would share that.
~Seth
When looking at the webcam, the left two rows are directly under the lift, the row to the right is for support of the lift. I will attempt to get new pictures I took this past weekend up tomorrow, including what the trough looks like with water in it!

You have disturbed the forbidden temple, now-you-will-pay!!!
I was watching them dig the holes for the main lift supports yesterday. Maybe we'll see the lift structure start to rise by Phunfest!
We have just posted some new construction pictures on AirPhoenix that were taken on August 30th.

Thanks again to Joel Styer for providing us with these pictures for the website.
Nice pictures and thanks for the update. I was there right after they poured the new footers, im sure the lift structure will be up very shortly. *** Edited 9/6/2006 4:29:52 PM UTC by P18***
Work may start in a few weeks, but I wouldn't look for it to rise as soon as the footers have dried.
seen them put up a new bent today around 3 pm (on webcam)
also seems like they only got one good webcam one is good and the other one is crapy cuz now cam 2 is acting up so yea idk?

Hey everyone... what a surprise to me but i got to go to knoebels yesterday 9-16-06 with my girlfriend cuz of her dads job picnic. anyway about the flying turns from what i noticed... not much new to tell about. they got the footers all ready for the bents for the chain lift # 2 they also have footers on the one side (near phonix) (near last turn from where the twister is) up and ready for when coming back to the station... now that was nice to see because last time i was there they did not have them in place. they also are starting to build more bents. I love how the construction team works long and hard hours to get this ride up and running soon this has been a really cool progress to see. i also got to touch one of the footers of the ride so now i feel special lol :) :P

I was there yesterday and noticed all the new footings along the lift hill and the brake run (next to the cottage). Looks to me like the ride is going to encroach a bit on the walkway by the North Pole and Shooting Gallery. At least the fence that's there now will have to move out a bit.
I wouldn't be surprised if that walkway disappears to make room for the entrance to the ride or a queing area. Then again, I'm not sure I'm thinking of the same path you are.
I was talking about the walkway that leads from the Phoenix past the Turns over toward the Roto Jets-- right below where the webcam is. The fence where they have the Cancer Society banner hanging.
I don't know how wide that last run coming around the corner (where the kiosk is) has to be, but if the rows of footings keep the same spacing, I'm not sure if they'll fit it behind where the fence is now.
check out my pic of the flying turns construction i took in june before the flood. dont forget to click the pic to see where the flying turns came from. look for many more photos to be uploaded to the site soon. and i mean many!

Three new bents put in place so far today. Looks like more are going up too. I think today they will have reached the peak of the lift. Excellent!

awesome, the whole coaster overall looks alot bigger then I first imagined it to be, which is nice. It will be interesting to see how much it goes over into that midway where the kiosk is. Im guessing they will put up a fence and maybe some landscaping around those areas on that midway.
If you want to see the Turns up close, go this weekend. Buy an all-day ride pass and get a coupon redeemable for one free one for next May.
I'll just wait 2 weeks for PPP. :) :) :)

Today's update. There are about a dozen bents in place for the second lift hill, from the figure 12 on down. It looks like it covers most of the lift hill. There were a few workers onsite too. It will be interesting to see how much more gets done in the next 13 days.
