Fly with Superman at SFGADV in 2003!!

Lord Gonchar's avatar

Anyone else plan a trip to SFOG to try the B&M flyer only to find that one will be at a closer park next season? Me too!

I guess we knew this was coming. Still I'm a tad miffed that I planned a trip to the southeast with high emphasis on being able to try out Superman at SFOG when next season I can do it at a park just an hour and a half away. Oh well, at least I still get to experience my first HHN at Universal - and I get a shot at both the Superman flyers. Yay me! :)

We weon't be getting anything from Old Indiana, there's nothing left there of the old coasters but bits & pieces of old rusted track that's in no condition to operate and will most likely be sold for scrap if it hasn't been already.

Anyhow the sign at SFGRADV is real & not a fake at all.

Why is always coaster, coaster, coaster with you? The addition from old Indiana might just be ...no don't say it *gasp* ... some of their old flat rides. (whining voice) .....flat rides whats a flat ride.

...as for the sign ....get off it ,it's real it's been confirmed.

The entrance to the coaster will be to the left of the entrance to GASM and the flyer will be built in the parking lot right in front of it.

My question is why are they putting it all the way accross the park from the gothem stuff?

they should of called labled Nitro as a superman or perferably a different DC hero and went origional with this years coaster.

All the chatter about SFA on this thread is like dog poop on the sidewalk. But anyway, one of the good things about putting the entrance there is that it will increase ridership for the unheralded Great American Scream Machine, which should theoretically protect the steel classic from "relocation".
yea also itll get people away from the most pack section of the park over by Nitro, Chiller and Batman the Ride.

well my friend who works at g.a. was also wondering why they are putting it there but i think you're right JDB

I think thats a good section to put it in. The only thing im hoping for is them to rip the pavement out and don't clone it. Talon is a intense coaster and not long in length and re-ridable. The ditches in the ground with the landscaping and flying over the queve was fun, hopefully Superman would do those things. I am looking forward to the prezel loop and possibly a tunnel. If you think about it sfgadv's don't have coasters with tunnels only the Chiller does which would be better if the mist was on, and skull mountain which is in a building. Possible some mist will work too for the flyer. Im just hoping because I really will like it to be the best flyer like S:ROS is the best hyper, it will get a lot of people who will like it.
well from what my friend told me, they are removing the pavement where its being built and it will be an exact clone, he said most of the queve will be inside though
This sounds awesome I love indoor ques but the only thing is that if its indoors its a long que and if its at SFGADv it will be filled. Oh well we'll just wait it out.

Funny how this has almost become an SFA thread.

It's interesting to hear people say that SFA's attendance changes mean nothing while SFMM's and SFGAdv's do. Just take a look at the numbers. A 9% increase in attendance at SFA is about 120,000 visitors per year. A 6% increase at SFMM is about 190,000 visitors per year. A 3% (?) decrease at SFGAdv is about 100,000 visitors per year. The numbers are all the same order of magnitude.

Again, I don't have the boardroom bugged. If I were running SFA I would probably add some sort of major attraction that is a bit more family oriented than a coaster or other thrill ride to improve the balance of the park's appeal. However, from some limited conversations with park management (Not the Lemon Chill guy), I know that they believe strongly in the advertising value of major thrill rides. I also suspect that I still won't get my bathroom near Superman and Batwing since they can't advertise it.

well the lines are definitely gonna be extremely long....especially since there's only gonna be 2 trains!!!
