Yeah...and to think you came *thisclose* to a brand new Intamin woodie. Oh well, every knows B&M are better ;-)

True, chris! And since NJ now places a limit on G's does that mean they'll never get a Togo Giga coaster? Or are three G's OK?

What kind of rides can they buy for 3 g's anyway? At that price they'll *have to* look into Togos.
Maybe the folks at SFAW can give them some bargain basement shopping tips.

chris - Togo Giga is the only one I could think of with 3 G's. Heck, anything made by Togo is automatically 1 G. Same for Giovanola ;-)

GioGoliath....that's only 2 G's....I'm just *positive* the coaster wasn't THAT forceless....LOL.
A Togo Giga, man that just sounds TOO painful...perhaps Markey IS right after all....;)

'Gator - at 3 G's, a Togo Giga is acceptible under the law. However if they ever come out with a Togo Giant Gargantuan Giga it can't be built in NJ...those are 6 G's.

medusafanatic:
Six Flags has never said that only 4 parks will be getting new coasters for '03. They said that 4 parks (the big ones)would be getting new coasters for the same specific reason. SF never said that only 4 coasters would be built. SF has also said that parks which have performed well will be rewarded. SFA has had a major increase in attendance and has been referrred to a one of the bright spots in the chain's performance.
Now I don't pretend to have bugs planted in SF's board room, so I think that we will all have to wait until announcements are made to find out who is getting what. Unfortunately, for those of us who frequent SFA that means we will probably have to wait longer than most since SFA usually announces late. However, there have been some very interesting rumours from some very interesting people dating back as far as last spring.
Think about it - Six Flags has announced major spending for projects at four parks, as well as the Jazzland coaster and (we can assume) minor additions to many of their other parks. That's a lot of money spent already, and Six Flags has said they're cutting *way* down on spending this year. If it isn't broken, don't fix it - and though SFA may be broken in many senses of the word, it's still pulling in crowds and Six Flags will probably leave it alone another year.
Batwing Fan SFA brought up Six Flags' comments regarding SFGAdv, and those are correct - SFGAdv's lack of a new attraction brought attendance way down and hurt the entire chain. But a drop in attendance st SFA is *not* going to hurt the chain much at all. SFGAdv, on the other hand, is one of Six Flags' four major parks and (those combined) brings in the majority of income for the chain. So if one of the major parks is down, it's a problem. If one of the minor ones is down (like SFA) it's not really a huge deal.
Quit whining and expecting a new coaster and enjoy your Intamin hyper.

I feel the same way coasterdude.
We have to remember SF is cutting down on spending and we know the coasters are the following so far
SFGADv Unknown Flyer
SFGAm Unknown Flyer
Jazzland Unknown Batman The Ride Clone
Enchanted Village Unknown GCI Wood
SFM Superman The Escape Morgan Hyper
With the 3 B&M's and and a hyper plus SFMM and SFOT getting major attractions which we assume are coasters that doesn't leave money left to spend. We also have the rumored SFFT Flyer and SFWOA hyper to think about. I doubt the SFWOA and SFFT coasters will happen but if they do thats a HUGE chunk of cash. If SFA gets anything next year I bet it will be a family coaster.
Gator said 'GioGoliath,' that's funny. :)

Gregleg beat me to it regarding SFM's hyper and he's correct about it.
SF had already paid for the SFM hyper as a 2002 attraction, however due to SFM jumping the gun on construction prior to any construction permits being issued they were forced to put it on hold for another season.
What's this I keep hearing about 3 B&M's? so far there are only 2 new B&M's being built the flyer for SFGRAM and SFGRADV,it's looking more likely that SFOT is getting either the intamin woodie or a drop ride of some sort from either intamin or S&S,they aren't getting a flyer anymore.
Don't be surprised if in fact something does show up coaster wise for SFA in 03,the main reason they took 02 off was to pay for the coasters they recently installed.
Last night I e-mailed SFA asking about 2003 season pass availability during frightfest as well as any new rides/attractions,I havn't gotten a response yet but as soon as I get one I'll post whatevr info the park gives me.
Plus SFMM's coaster
Plus whatever SFoT is getting (fairly large spending there)
What does that equal? No coaster for SFA.
