"Oh no! Somebody said something I don't like about an amusement park! This is a personal attack on me! I must go out and insult them and call them 'gay' or something equally degreading!"
You're just jealous that I have a nice butt and you don't.
I challenge you to meet me in person and say the same thing to my face. Go ahead, find my contact information and arrange a time to meet up at a park somewhere.
I never say anything to anyone online that I wouldn't tell them in person.

So... it's ok to go online and tease people because you know what's coming, yet it's not ok for them to go and try and find out themselves in a totally legal manner?I don't have a problem with either, but I just wanted to pose that question.
Hmm, maybe you misinterpreted the tone in my post. I have no problem at all with people finding info on a *public* website! That would be insane if I did...I just meant that it's kind of funny that parks pretty much cannot keep anything secret anymore largely due to the internet.
I just think it's funny, is all.
Joe "such a tease" C. ;)
Yeah, I'm not sure how my name got thrown in there either. I live 15 minutes from the park and the *last* thing I would do is bash SFMM if there weren't reason to. Unlike people who just pay lip service so that they *seem* balanced and impartial, I *really* do care about the park and want to see it be the best it can be. Right now, it's NOT...period, end of story. Anyone who cannot see that is deluting themselves.
But a great lesson to learn westcoaster man, is to not get so worked up over someone else's opinions. Yes it gets a bit excessive here sometimes but guess what? If you still enjoy the park the way it is, who gives a rat's turd what other people think. Your the lucky one, you have one less park to ***** about. Despite how it may appear in this thread, most people don't enjoy *****ing. Take a chill pill.

Wow and here I go thinking this topic had got back on topic...Not! It's the same four blabber mouths and a couple of cheerleaders still going. With the same BS speech oh how SFMM sucks and how they have the only opinion on earth that matters. Their BS opinions speak for everyone, their the high an mighty Coasterbuzz posters what they say goes, I can't believe I forgot that my bad.
LoL, you are so funny. Ignorant, but funny. I never, every said, nor implied, that I had the only opinion that matters. However, I seem to share the popular opinion. I wonder why? Maybe because everyone else isn't so blinded by stupidity that they see the problems with SFMM.
All you've done in this thread or any that is about SFMM is come in and tell us that our opinion about the park is wrong, and how the park is so good, yet WE'RE the ones who think our opinion is the only one that matters? You are entitled to your opinion. Yet you keep telling me that mine is wrong.
There's the 'BS' you're talking about. Really, it is your hypocracy(sp?). All you've done is complain because we don't like your park. Why do you care so much? If you don't agree with our opinion, why do you think we need to change it? How old are you again?
Now all we need to do is grab Moosh, Playa, Dweaver, and I know I'm missing a few but with those three and Tekno, Gonch, Chitown, and legendary we can get a hell of a CB bashparty going. So lets get this party started right.
I don't personally think we need anyone else. The party is doing fine. Again, I love the double standard that we can't have our opinion and state it, but you can.
You try and try to get people to like a park that is known even with the GP to have poor operations, rides down, etc. How you think that having one coaster and at least 2 rides down for the past couple years is acceptable is beyond me. SFMM hasn't added a new flat ride in about as long as I've been alive. They haven't painted anything in about that lenght of time either, from the looks of things.
The only person being overly negative here is you. We're complaining because we hope that somone will eventually take the park and turn it into something Magical. You want to go on and on about how we're wrong, but they're having a small, steady decline in attendance. Trust me, they don't loose over 100,000 enthusiasts every year.
So get over yourself. If you don't like to come in and see people 'bash' Magic Mountain for having crappy operations, perhaps you should go to www.sixflagsmagicmountainBUZZ.com (need that rolls eyes smiley bad here, Jeff ;)).
Please specify so I can respond appropriately. :)

Depends on how you look in a skirt.

Seriously though, I have visited the park one time for 2 days last February. Our whole time just getting in every coaster in those 2 days took the WHOLE 2 days. I could see in the heart of the summer needing more days to fullfill this.
I may be wrong, but isn't this the only outdoor all year round amusement park that doesn't exceed 3 million guests a year in this country?
Why does PKI, CP, SFGADv exceed SFMM's numbers and SFGAm equals it?
SFMM has the 2nd largest city right at it's doorstep along with southern California being a huge population.

It's not a year-round park. I think you may have confused that with Knott's and Disneyland. Six Flags Magic Mountain is open daily from mid-March through early September. From September through early March, they are a weekend only operation.
One thing to note is this: I spend one day at SFGAm in 1999. I was less than impressed by the park. However, most of the issues I've had have been taken care of. They got a waterpark. They painted stuff. The friendlyness of the employees has apparently improved from what I saw.
And my opinion then was the popular opinion of the group. I was with around 20 other teens, most of which had never been to a Six Flags park, and were spoiled by Paramount Parks, and they all echoed my sentiments.
But you don't hear Chitown telling me my opinion was wrong. In fact, he has stated that things have changed, and I've agreed that to form a better opinion of the park, I need to go back. It has been 6 years.
And this is one of the best run parks in the company, if not in the industry. But my opinion was not totally postive, though I did like all the coasters I rode. Even Shockwave (R.I.P.).
Just because my opinion is different doesn't mean it is wrong. However, When I return to SFMM, if things aren't changed from the last time, I'll likely walk away with the same feeling.
But still 40 extra days should show some sort of an increased attendance.
A park like CP doesn't even open until May. The others start earlier with the same limited operations.
It'd be interesting to divide estimated attendace by the number of operating days and get some daily averages. (then again, I like geek stuff like that)
So they have around 3mill. Parks with far less coasters have better attendance and have increased attendance. SFMM has Coasters, a Waterpark, and they do have some flats. Even in the current state, without adding anything different, they could be a mega successful park, if they maintained everything, opened all the rides within reason, painted everything, and (this is the most important part) treated guests better by creating a positive guest experience.
