Eleven Things for a Better SFGAm

Why not add a mine train coaster where the water show/animal shows used to be. The land layout being on a hillside actually could be great for a mine train coaster there. That would tie in fairly well with the themeing and family/kids atmosphere that section of the park now has. I would have to say I would like a real ferris wheel and maybe some newer flat rides. Other than that I really dont see much need to add to the park in the near future. I know I would love to see a 4D and even Tidal Wave back but I wont hold my breath.

Nick Catalano: The theming on Batman outdated!?! That's the best theming I've seen,(yes, i've been to IOA, and BGW) and although it is mass cloned (as is the ride) I still prefer that theming over any theming. Waiting in line for B:TR is actually enjoyable because of the sound effects, theming and anticipation for an excellent ride.

Overall i think the park is in pretty good shape for a six flags park. It needs to be cleaner and needs to more security to kick out line jumpers/bad behaved patrons. I agree with opening the path by dejuvue, it stinks now to walk around the whole park without the nice shortcut. I agree with keeping whizzer as its the only decent coaster for a smaller kid other than the coaster in the kids area. Every park needs more revenue to bring about postive change and a area i would like to see improved would be food and merchandise. I think the quality of t-shirts etc is lousy. How many people walk around with bags of items they bought??? Compared to other parks ive been to i think six flags sells less merchandise which affects the bottom line and ability to improve the park.And their food is mostly AWFUL/HIGH PRICED! Being a passholder we opt to eat at mcdonalds or in the parking lot and dont do this because we are cheap but the qualtiy of food is bad! And when you leave around 200 pm like we often do their are numerous people eating by their cars or also leaving to get food elsewhere which again hits the bottom line! They should hire somebody who is in charge of the food at a park like busch gardens williamsburg. The food their was excellant as was the snacks where we ate meals in the park before we left to avoid a quick mcdonalds on the way home. I think with improvements in food/merchandise they would have more money available to make some needed improvements. Of course who doesnt want a floorless/ta2k/4d but overall the park seems to be in the right direction

I suppose you consider McDonalds high quality food? That stuff is garbage.

Yeah, McDonalds may be garbage, but its good. We had Subway in the parking lot. There were tons of people out there.

A 4D is probably what we can expect.

I would think that doing a 4D/Flying hybred would be rather easy to do too.. I would like to see that as well (get the flying cars on top of the track, and the 4d on the side!)

Anyways, redoining the rapids ride would be the thing I would love the most.

Wizzer is OK, it just takes up valueable land.. They should try to rework that land (put something below it, and/or add another coaster intertwined with wizzer.. possibly a runaway mine.. considering SWTerretory is RIGHT THERE..

RBG: You oviously have not noticed how dingy that area has become, as well as outdated. Think of how nice it would all look with nice new metalic paint on the track and some new paint in the line.. also something a bit more advanced than the 3d imaging they have playing in the bkground.. Also, a new boarding area would speed up that line QUITE A BIT!

I dont wanna see anything removed from the park....If anything Id say Shockwave (even though i have no problem with it) and have a 4D in its place. Otherwise, Shockwave would be a ton better with trees and landscaping but considering its been there for 13 years, I doubt that will ever happen (a tunnel between the boomerang and the corkscrew would be cool!) There needs to be more trash cans (ala Cedar Point) which would cut down on trash. Brakes off on AE....yes that would be very nice. Take down the barrier between Hometown and County Fair IMMEDIATELY!

Finally, my chance to ask this question. I have heard about the former existence of the Tidal Wave shuttle coaster. I have 2 questions about it.

1. What kind of shuttle was it?

2. What is where it was?

Glidein.

1. It was a Schwarzkopf shuttle.

2. It was exactly where Batman is. Currently, it is exactly where Viper at SFoG is. (It is Viper)

Trees @ Shockwave? How could that be done?

They coudl always make it a dark ride.. Just make the entire thing a big tunnel.. not all that expensive, and they can get lapbars too..

You amaze me Nick. Your wishlist from all these posts you have made are really farfetched. Enjoy the park for what it is. Do you go to the park analyzing everything and coming up with a list of changes that would suit you? Be a little more realistic.

The point is the food at great america is so AWFUL, it makes Mcdonalds good in comparsion. If great america had better quality food you wouldnt see people leaving the park in droves to eat elsewhere.

Actually I think the majority of people leave the park to go eat because of the high price of the food. But you are right, the food isnt fantastic but I still find it better than McDonalds.

I agree with Bob O. Overpriced awful food would make customers in the park run for the door during lunch and supper hours.

I like it just fine. I dont know why so many people hate shockwave. I know it kills your head but honestly, what if sfgam didnt get raging bull and shockwave wasnt there? Would SFGAm be big enough to have gotten raging bull? If they didnt get raging bull would they bring in enough money to get deja vu? V2? Mabye they could, i dont really know. But even though shockwave doesnt have a huge line, each train is filled. To me Thats good enough.

Yes, Shockwave *was* a record braker when it came out, like practically all the rest of the coasters there. But what other coaster has a walk on wait when all the others are an hour and a half? What other coaster makes so many people black out (including me)? Makes me wonder why they really DO have Shockwave still standing...
