That's why I said for traditional wood coasters.

I miss Drachen Fire

Picking back up on an old thread. :)

Word on the streets is that El Toro should be good to go before month's end.

Anyone want to take those opening predicitons back or are we still banking on something going wrong? ;)

I just read on the construction journal that trains should be in place on the 15th.

Edited: I just realized today is the 16th. I wonder if they're rolling as we type? *** Edited 5/16/2006 8:18:43 PM UTC by macho nachos***

It seems like a fairly simple design, Intamin or not. Not much can really go wrong right?!
...right?

^ Reminds me of a sig I used for awhile "It's an Intamin, what's the worst that could happen"...

My HOPES for The Bull run very high. My *expectations*, I'm trying to keep them in check....besides, Voyage goes "Underground".

According to Gradv source the trains are not on the track yet. SFGradv has a sign up saying it will open in 2 weeks.http://www.gadv.com/forums/index.php?s=3435cac1554c5af035a4fa7bebcd2940&act=ST&f=18&t=8476&st=60

I can't wait to ride it but I won't be able to get there until Coaster Celebration on June 17 since I will be leaving for CP after Memorial day for Coaster Mania

What kind of restraints will this ride have? Will they be like MF's? I want to be able to ride this ride later in the year.
I'm really hoping for just lap bars. I actually don't really know what an Intamin woodie train looks like. If you can compare it to an existing wooden coaster's trains/restraints...would it be most like Comet/Wildcat/Lightning Racer at Hershey? Those are the woodies that I have the most experience with.

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

They are typically like the Intamin hyper trains, restraint-wise, but these puppies are a little...different.

Compare to Colossos:

The trains on Colossos look less "restrictive", IMO.

But I do like the Bull on the front of the train...even if it IS hard to make out inside the plastic shrink-wrap. :)

Could El Toro have an OTSR? look closely at the picture there. Looks like an orange OTSR??

Or perhaps a new pulldown lapbar like on Powder Keg ?

Who cares if El Toro has OTSR's. Look at that bull on the front of the train!

Dante, who isn't serious. He hopes there isn't indeed OTSR's.

There are no OTSR's. It's a lap bar and the head rests have wings that project forward.

I just think that the fact that there's a lot of bull on the front of those trains is awesome! No bull! ;)

Had to get that pun out of the way. As long as the ride is fast and fun, I'm happy :)

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

It'll have a U-Bar, like Arrow mines, or from what I hear the Gianvanola hypers.

To those people that tell me that "You Ohio State fans think your better than everyone." It's because we are. :)
Good going with the u-lap bars...its about time Intamin. But what is the point of having something project forward near your head (the wings)?

'We didnt put OTSR on El Toro, but we still wanted to provide you with somehting to bang your head on.'

It might just be the angle of the pics...but that little wing thing looks evil on the ears. I dont get the point.

Seriously. Whats with those head rests?

Maybe they are spoilers. ;)

Perhaps they are barriers to keep people from reching out and touching something they shouldn't.

I'm wondering where they are goin the place the queue. Is there I dont there is room between RT and ET so maybe they'll wrap it around the outside of the turn around of the first drop and have the entrance near the bridge to Medusa

If you compare the pictures of the el toro train and colossos or any other pre-fab woodie, you'll see that those wings won't actually be where you head is. At the very worst, they'll be maybe a little bit higher than the shoulder. And it isn't like they pertrude inwards so I don't get where you're getting anything about head banging at. Maybe the train cars being elevated on those wooden platforms is throwing everyone off.

THEY ARE NOT HEAD RESTS PEOPLE. *** Edited 5/17/2006 8:55:36 PM UTC by mudinthevayne***
