Is that right?
Kingda Ka - 5/21
Nitro - 4/7
Superman Ultimate Flight - 4/17
Medusa - 4/2
Batman The Ride - 5/1
Runaway Mine Train opened in June, but c'mon, that was 1974. Doesn't count. The others don't have exact dates listed but I can assure you most all of them were open by May. (except for maybe Chiller?) *** Edited 4/3/2006 3:40:32 AM UTC by MrX***

What does wood coasters have to do with this? A coaster is a coaster. They all take relatively the same amount of time to complete.
And will everybody just stop with the whole "OMG STATE OF NJ!! TSUNAMI!!!" stuff because that has nothing to do with this or the state of NJ. That had to do with Clementon Park.
Here's the deal, if you have a coaster that is completed and up to standards, it will be approved. Simple as that. The State of NJ is not just like "We hate coasters and will delay all openings as long as we can". Yes, they are very strict on safety, but is that a bad thing? The coaster should be safe and if it is it gets approved.
It could take a long time if nj doesnt like how something is put together or how close the que is to the ride.
The state(also the town) has a lot to do with how fast the ride opens to the public.
Again, if the coaster is completed, safe and UP TO CODE, it gets approved. Simple as that. It's GADV's job to know the code. ;)

I guess they *could* get ET up and running and then finish the remainder of the themed area during the rest of the season (plus the next off-season as needed)...
Not really. The whole area looks pretty much destroyed as of right now. Unless they re-open the bridge inbetween El Toro and Medusa just for the ride (which would absolutely BLOW), I don't see it happening.
Best guess is June.

That is the f-n all time quote. How the hell does a wood coaster take the same time to build as a steel ?
Once the site is preped, the steel coaster goes together like a big erector set. It gets bolted,welded, and paint touch up.
Wood coasters have to have bents built on site (not in a climate control warehouse),seven layers of wood for track laid (for traditional wood coasters) the steel track laid for the top,side,and up stop wheels.
Case in point.....(ok K Rumbler is done)
Tatsu=Done
Goliath SFGA=Done (and Goliath In Le ronde will be shortly)
Patroit=Done
Voyage=Not done
El Toro=Not done.
And so on.... *** Edited 4/4/2006 1:40:14 AM UTC by BG Nut*** *** Edited 4/4/2006 1:47:17 AM UTC by BG Nut***

And if that's "the f-n all time quote" you obviously haven't been around the coaster community too long. As far as that quote goes, yeah I'll give you that woodies can take a litte longer, but if you notice I said "relatively the same amount of time to complete". That basically means the offseason. A steel coaster and a wood coaster can be built in the offseason, no? The difference is maybe a couple weeks to a month. Hardly what I'd call a big difference. And some steel coasters can take longer depending on the site, weather etc. So again, I'll say it, a steel coaster and a wood coaster take relatively the same amount of time to complete.
As far as the Voyage and El Toro being the 2 main coasters that aren't done yet, look at the size of The Voyage? Were there other 6000+ foot coaster being built that I wasn't aware of?
EDIT - OH NO! "the inside scoop"!!! *** Edited 4/4/2006 1:45:22 AM UTC by MrX***

Granted, the majority of park guests would likely prefer a walkway... ;)

And one more thing being that I have 2 family menbers who work for Jackson township. I think I might just have the inside scoop.

How did no one else catch this? :-P
It's Intamin Plug n' Play so actually yes, the track is built in a climate controlled warehousee.
