EL TORO DROP COMPLETE!!!

Wow! That first drop looks wicked. Thanks for posting the link to those pics :)

Da Bull looks freakin' awesome! I love the S-turn section. Those first three hills alone look like sick airtime will be had in them back seats!

If I could pick my top 10 woodies, they'd jsut about all be from the last 10 years. Before 1998 or so, most of my faves were oldies but goodies. They're all still great rides, but many of the new ones are even better.

This is taking forever...I may even miss this coaster when I go in June.
What is the point of pre-fab if it saves no time! Yeah, alittle labor cost saved, but this is taking forever. Plus I think this ride is too short, and it looks very ugly! I mean, it looks like a roller coaster tycoon coaster. It need to be smooth, and flowy. Not straight, hard turn, sharp drop.

I think we should keep woodie building to GCI and the Gravity Group...

Seriously

Right because you've already ridden El Toro and it just sucks. Keep an open mind.
Hey Keith, I think you belong in the Cedar Point thread ...

Go do some research concerning exactly what Intamin's system is and you'll answer your own question. Because it's pretty easy to tell you're not exactly informed (or maybe misinformed) on the topic.

(or, for what I really wanted to say, just check out the post that was made just above this one, lol) *** Edited 3/29/2006 3:33:54 AM UTC by matt.***

June? I thought they said SF was going to be operated better starting this year. Why the shinanigans? Get more guys in there and get it built on time. June is halfway into the season.

If I ran an amusement park, my very first priority would be to get the rides open by opening day. "You-know-who" always has their new rides open by opening day.

NEW! for 2006 and 1/2...El Lateo. lol.

Well, maybe construction is gonna pick up speed?
Am I the only one that is "under-impressed" by this thing so far? Hopefully the end product turns out better than what I have seen so far. *yawn*

It's not just you, Swoosh.
^Yes.

It's certainly not as cool as Talon...I mean Patriot though. *yawn*

The only reason it looks underimpressive to me is because it seems so short. If I have correctly counted, it has 4 drops and then some turns and it's over.

I like the steepness of the first drop a lot. I like the way the ride crosses over itself at the bottom of the first drop. I like what the ride offers, but not how much the ride offers.

Most of all, I am not excited about El Toro because I will not get to ride it for about 5 years. If I found it in my heart to visit SFGAdv this year, chances are that I wouldn't get to ride El Toro anyways, so why even waste my time daydreaming about it? It will be closed any day that I would decide is a good day to go; that or the line will be 4 hours long.

It has more like 5 major drops, a spiral drop, a massive bunny hop and two twisting bunny hops, plus a couple of additional potential airtime spots, and several quick turns and changes in direction.

Isn't it way too soon for you to discover that, Erasure-boy? ;)

Ha! Well, except for the yawn. If any coaster was going to be almost-cloned, they certainly could've done worse than Talon. (which is a great ride)

OMG! A big corporate park takes out a crappy steel coaster and does probably the most they could possibly do with that land turning it into a wooden airtime machine and they are still getting crap? What is not impressive? Is the "out-and-backness" of the monster airtime hills a little too boring? Is the ride a few seconds short of being worthy of consideration? Seriously, you got all the ride time you can handle in RT right next door. If you can't see the value in ET, then go to RT and knock yourself out. I have done my fair share of GADV bashing, but they seriously deserve some props for this decision.
