But now that you are back, I am actually curious how this ride looks any more boring than say The Voyage or the new GCI going up in Kentucky?
Intamin sure doesn't know how to design an exciting coaster! I think I'll just find another hobby, nothing excites me anymore.
(rolls eyes as I leave to go take out the garbage)
I'm turning in my official "Coaster Enthusiast Badge," fanny pack, and my pink sunglasses strap.
I don't want to associate with this group anymore. You mean to tell me that something that hasn't even been built yet, hasn't even rolled its first foot of track, something that hasn't even been announced for 5 minutes is boring?
I'm finding a new hobby.

A. Getting all worked up because not everyone has the same opinion.
Not everyone has the same taste. Not everyone likes the same rides. I happen to know for a fact that this ride stomps major booty, but if someone is not aware, who cares? ;)
I just didn't think the pictures/video made the ride appealing... I tend to love twisted layouts over just bunny hopping and a few turns, but there are exceptions.
This doesn't look very "twisty" to me. Sure, the end looks fun, with that high-speed, low-height S curve, but not much else made me drool. And yes, I know a 76 degree drop is steep, but I'm not sure that is enough to make the ride... And i'm not saying that the drop is all this ride has.
Once again, I was just judging by the animations, which means this is all opinions based on looks... anyones opinion, even my own, can easily change once this is built and ridden.
Edit: For goodness sakes yall, I said it LOOKS boring to me. I'm not saying it is boring.
Double Edit!: The Kentucky GCI did seem a little tame in the twisting department to me, too. But that doesn't mean it will be.

Don't forget, this has the potential of being many enthusiast's number 2 woodie next year.
And yeah, there have been absolutely zero issues with roughness on new-style Intamin woodies so far. In fact, Colossus is probably the smoothest wooden in the world.

Long live the Big Bad Wolf
I'm sure it will be an incredible ride though. Just thought it may be nice for someone to say something negative about a 2006 wooden coaster that is NOT El Toro. ;)
All joking aside, I AM looking forward to El Toro a lot more. If I lived near Holiday World I'd probably be drooling over The Voyage. Since I am definitely going to make it to SFGAdv. next year, El Toro is MUCH more appealing to me.
No doubt that they will both be great coasters! :)
Rumor has it that its going to have a cable lift instead of a chain thats why they don't show the ride up the lift hill and they cut 15sec off the ride time to move the line faster. *** Edited 9/29/2005 1:05:54 AM UTC by Ajrides***
..the ride itself, or the fact that inside a day the discussion on the press release has extended 6 pages! :)
It makes me happy, even if it's not my home park that's getting it. LOOKING at the animation, the train seems to completely tear through the airtime hills... that will be sweet! I can't wait to ride it!

Word.
Earlier, there was a post about the bulls from rodeo stampede. I love that ride and hope it stays or becomes part of the new themeing.
I am looking forward to this new coaster and hope that Mr. 6 and his friends can take care of it.
Unlike Ka though, this should run without fequent break-downs.
Let's just wish them well with it so we all can enjoy it in the spring. (And that it's part of the Q-Bot system).
