The ride area is now totally cleared out and survey markers are all over.

So, I guess this means Laser wasn't for sale, and they aren't selling it!! Yeah! That's a stupid name in my opinion. They should just keep it Steel Venom. I say the worst Cedar Fair name had to be Dominator. I love the ride, but goodness, that's a horrible name.
(1) maybe, (2) no, and (3) yes. They could still be selling Laser, I think for a while they were maybe thinking of "replacing" it with Geauga's boomerang, but maybe not.
"Steel Venom" kinda wouldn't work in the same park as "Steel Force". Maybe "Vertical Venom"? I like the name they picked, it's different and catchy and exciting and all that. But don't be surprised if it ends up getting changed, like Banshee - Vudu is a religion, I'm sure there are practitioners somewhere in the area who will object, and they also consider the spelling "voodoo" an insult - I'm not saying at all that I hope so, but it might happen. The objections to Banshee also had some basis in religion - isn't it mainly Irish Catholics who believe in them?
Anyway, gotta agree on Dominator - great ride, but bad, BAD name. Anyone taking bets on new names at its new home? I'm out of ideas. Not even "Dominionator".
No real press release or anything but they have a full statistics page up:
http://www.dorneypark.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill_rides/voodoo.cfm
They do not mention the ride's colors which stinks. They also describe what sounds like the holding brake, and they make mention of Laser so it's safe for another year.

Speaking of interest groups protesting "evil", recently in my city (Tampa) a group protested the name of the Major League Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 2008 the team will be known only as the Rays around town. Ridiculous.
I love the name. Unique and intimidating in a way. Definitely catches your attention, and I like it not being referenced to steel for once. *** Edited 10/5/2007 4:42:44 AM UTC by Hatham Al-Shabibi***
If you think things can't get worse it's probably because you lack sufficient imagination.
However, today, each Canadian coaster will buy you almost 1.02 coasters in the US!
Personally I find it unbelievable that people complain about a private parks logo.. but thats just me..

^ Is Behemoth not a major coaster installation?
I totally forgot about Behemoth when I posted that earlier today. LOL
Btw OP, you're being a bit too general there. There are some good christians, actually many are sane and decent people its the select few wacko's that carry everything way too far that are ridiculous (like the ones protesting a picture of a skull, or any sort of imagination for fear itll jump out and "influence" them)

Isn't the bible full of graphic imagery in words that are meant to spark the imagination and influence you as a person?
I am truly not sure why a Christian goup would have to protest this. Why cant people just be a bit more rational?
I for one like the logo and I know where my personal beliefs lie. So does anyone who knows me.
