Dominator trains now on site at Kings Dominion

^ I agree with you, Rob; it was inappropriate.

On this note, there have been plenty of less serious breaches of the ToS that have been shut down quickly enough by a moderator, but why not this one?

this must have made Jeffs Marketing buddies laugh, or it would (should) have been removed immediately. I'm surprised that such offensive content is actually allowed.

Wow, it's a joke, and funny one at that, leave it be.

If you don't know what it means, then you wouldn't understand its humor. Its nothing you can't find in any textbook, dictionary, or any other scholarly book for education.

Lighten up, seriously.

ErinGoBraugh said:I knew and loved Kings Dominion back when Mount Kilimanjaro was truly majestic and about three times the size and mass it is now,

They only removed about 10 to 20 feet off the top of the mountain to install Volcano. Kilaminjaro was a ride toward the end of the mountain ridge nearest Anaconda.

Kings Dominion amusement park in Virginia once featured a "Lost World Mountain" that housed three rides: Journey to Atlantis (a flume), Land of Dooz (a mine train/roller coaster) and Time Shaft (a rotor). A year after opening in 1979, the Journey to Atlantis was replaced with the Haunted River overlay. The Land of Dooz - a train ride into a cartoonish world of gnomes - was replaced with a liscenced Smurf ride, and with that, the mountain was rechristened "Smurf Mountain". Presently, the mountain houses a roller coaster named Volcano, and the mountains name is now "Mt Pele Pele" The main mountain was never named kilaminjaro.

You know,I read somewhere that the new color scheme for the ride may in fact be green & black & may actually be placed elsewhere in the park,I'm thinking next to FOF but we'll just have to wait for the official announcement in november to find out for certain.

Green, Black and next to FOF. It would be quite ironix if it were called X-Flight. :) Since our Green and Black X-Flight got repainted, renamed and moved next to FOF at KI.

You're still one of those people not getting the point. It's not the right place for that kind of humor, or to be educating people on that type of humor. I don't have kids and I understand the difference.

There's no need for me to lighten up as I can be plenty inappropriate, but in the context of my car or my own home. I was just simply stating that it's a slippery slope that you start sliding down when people start posting sexually explicit material on a site that's not meant for that.

Kraxelridah should've taken that over to Alvey's site where that kind of thing is more appreciated. I hope that makes sense.

Haha. I wouldn't be surprised if they did go that route. ;)

It should be interesting to see what the new colors will be. Just looking at the photos of those delivered track pieces really gives an idea as to how faded Dominator's paint job is.

Dominator definitely needs & will certainly recieve a new paintjob.

Hmm...earlier than expected, but it's now official:

Haha. They're sticking with the name Dominator...nothing wrong with that. That new expensive queue logo they put in for the ride at Geauga Lake won't need to be scrapped. They'd probably just move that over too.

According to their press release, Dominator has the tallest roller coaster loop. Magic Mountain's Viper first loop is taller at 144-feet. They're already claim Volcano as the coaster with the highest overall inversion.

Leave it to Cedar Fairs (non) marketing department to have 0 creativty. They are the leader of generic ride names. That name has nothing to do with any of the theming at King's Dominion, which except for a few major flaws is mostly intact. 10 year old children could do better with naming rides than they could.
I'm assuming that the naming problems they were having included going back and forth and figuring out that Dominator wasn't such a bad name, or that a deadline was coming (or had passed) and they had to go with something right away.

I've never had a problem with the name per se, as it does imply a powerful coaster. According to RCDB Kraxleirdah, Riddler's Revenge's vertical loop is only 124 ft. tall. Maybe one of the incline loops is taller?

It will be interesting to see if they stick with the same color-scheme which I think is fine--just a little bid faded.

I don't get it. What does that have to do with anything?

It might imply powerful, but it has nothing to do with the International theme. Which concerns me that these parks under Cedar Fair will continue to detoriate in theming and tree removal until they are lot of rides on a glorified parking lot like Cedar Point!
Aw come on... screw censorshi*.
It was pretty funny! I'm sure alot of folks are not aware (and probably don't care) what some of those things are.

I don't understand some of it. I just found out what a milf is (and a dilf, yes!) a few months ago. I didn't even know what top/bottom was until I was like 21, and I'm gay!

That was really funny. I could just see it. I mean come on, Poison Ivy to Cat Woman's Whip? What's goin on there?

Thanks for riding the Vo-tex sponsored by Ko-tex, and enjoy the rest of your day at CEDAR FAIR'S Kings Island :)

They should have renamed it "Dominionator."

It's a hell of a lot better than 'Hurler' and the Wayne's World theme.

Semantics.

Viper's loop is higher, but Dominators is taller.

Why isn't this announcement mentioned on the news section like Thunderhawk's was yet?
