Did you get e-mail from ThrillNetwork?

Now I know it's true... my wife got the e-mail as well. She's not a geek like us, she's never signed up for anything other than this site.

Now I'm pissed.

And now let us commence the first annual "Welcome to ThrillNetwork" awards.

Please provide links to "I hate this place and all of you suck" posts from potential nominees.

A few of mine:

SOOperGIR for his stunning performance in "Watch out!"

Houston Thrills in a debate over ads...since his mommy pays for everything else, Jeff should pay for this site for him.

Anyone else?

Whoa, I feel so blacklisted. I got no such mail. :(

If they don't want my business and traffic, maybe I should go give it to them.

Edit: Scratch that. Now *that's* what I call service! :) I got it, too.

You may add me to the list of people scratching their heads, asking "What is Thrill Network?"

I received this email today, and when I got to the part about it being a weekly newsletter, I knew I hadn't recieved one before. Then I did the test, and tried to recover a forgotten password. Nope, and from the looks of the site, it is not one I would be too eager to register for.

Look at that... I even got it at webmaster@coasterbuzz.com, an address not used for anything but sending out passwords.

I'd cc you all on the e-mail I sent to Westerman, but that wouldn't be very mature. ;)

I'll also back up the proof that the apology letter was a complete lie. The email address I use here (and the newsletter was sent to) is one I created roughly a month ago.

And like Jeff, I use a secondary address when first signing up for most things.

Awwwww. Thrill Notwork is obviously afraid of my superior intellect. I did not receive a spam e-mail telling me anything about coasters. It seems like the only spam e-mail I ever receive is from Christina Aguilera or a mortgage broker.

I had been signed up with ThrillNetwork years ago, but have since left and every time I get those newsletters (for months now) I have clicked the un-subscribe thing at the bottom and it says I have un-subscribed, yet I keep getting them. I went ahead and contact ThrillNetwork about this, no response, so I went to escape.com and contacted them. Escape.com is of no help at all! I do not even think they read my letter considering thier response was not even regarding what I sent them.

I am assuming no one else has sent an e-mail to Escape.com because they claim this is the only complaint they have gotten in the sites service with them. For some reason I doubt that...

If that was their old list then how they have my e-mail? The e-mail I had I created 3 months ago and I dubt that their list old list is newer that that.

SpongeBob, you're not alone, they told me I was TN's first complaint as well. Here's the email:

We just communicated with them in regards to your complaint,
and from my understanding they emailed only people who provided
their email address to their sites, and affiliated sites in the past 5 years
to them. Perhaps maybe you have forgotten about providing your
email address to one of their sites?

If you don't want to receive emails, I'd suggest emailing them back
asking to be removed from their list...

This is the first spam complaint for this customer that we have on file...

In the future please forward any complaints to our abuse department at
abuse@escape.com

My return email goes as follows:

Hello,

I am most sure that I have not surrendered my email address to them. The address that I recieved the email in question is only two months old and I have never signed up for anything on this site in my life.

They have sent out a letter of apology stating that they accidentally sent the emails to an alternative list from a few years back, but as my argument above states, the email address I use is very young in age. They have obviously used some sort of script to excavate email addresses from other sites.

I would appreciate hearing back to see if anything is done so that this does not happen again.

Grr...this is making me angry.

SFNE Central v5- Online Six Flags New England Resource

I got the e-mail earlier today. I signed up for this site twice over the past two years, but rarely get mail from them. Both times i've had login problems, so I rarely visit or post as a result. The whole site seems a bit buggy...

It's odd that they now seem to be pushing the site to people who aren't interested, when people who are (or were) interested couldn't use it properly in the first place...

I'll stick with Coasterbuzz, thank you very much

:-)
