I am just in a mood today. Nah my brother knows better than to start a conversation and leave. I just like to comment and it was a good conversation. I learned a lot about some of the members of this forum today. (I look at everything as a learning opportunity. It's the teacher in me.)

You guys are WAY too funny!

Welcome Pizzaguy! Don't EVER take what these dorks say too seriously. ;-) Its fun to watch people argue about trivial s*** sometimes, especially the guys. Just go with the flow...you just MIGHT make some lifelong friends here. :-)

It's all good! And for the record, DT is "fun" but only when the line is short. :-)

-Tina

That line for DT is the only air conditioned line in the park. I ride it just to get out of the heat sometimes. Of course, the big tin box is NOT air conditioned so you work up a sweat while riding!

You have disturbed the forbidden temple, now-you-will-pay!!!

As one who reads far more then posts, the reason I dont post alot is fear of sounding stupid. Reading posts, I have far more respect for someone like Coasterqueen then someone who picks on everything from a misplaced letter to somebody asking a question. She seams like a very nice person and if there were more people on here as welcoming as her Id probly post more. Theres a reason the guy never posted in here again, its simply because there are too many on this forum who think themselves better then the "rest of the coaster community" You can complain about paul rueben (sp) and how he acts out there when its funny, but many people act the same way on here. I had no idea there were "social classes" when it comes to someone who likes riding amusement park rides, and I feel bad on anyone who invades on such a "upper class" coaster board. I guess its just how things are around here.

As for someone mentioning about the hope that the popularity might come back with knoebels adding a new bobsled coaster, I hope that it might lead to others building more flying turns specifically. Im not sure what other parks would be interested but it would be neat to bring back such an old coaster style. I doubt it would happen but a "classic coaster wars" would be cool, with many older designs coming back, but I cant see that happening. Also, DT was one of the coasters I skipped while at CP so i havent ridden one personally butit always seemed cool I just didnt have alot of time. *** Edited 4/20/2006 4:02:14 PM UTC by P18***

I've been very welcoming throughout this whole thread. I don't think of myself being beter than anyone else. Actuially I learn a lot from CoasterBuzzers.

You don't sound stupid to me. I belive that sometimes I sound stupid, but it doesn't stop me from giving my input.

And yes, Tina is very nice! :)

A classic coaster wars sounds vey exciting! Just imagine if this were to happen!

Even though this is just a coaster message baord and not real life, I can honestly say that CoasterBuzz has played a very important role in helping me learn how to better communicate with others. The last Five years on CB has rippled throughout my entire life.

Thanks, just usually when i post it seems nobody ever notices or anything. I can see that it could help with communication and all. Im not saying everyone is like that all of the time, just sometimes it seems like that. I understand how people want to keep spamming/crap to a minimum and everything.

If Tina's so nice, how come I got no laps on DT on my last stop at the Po!nt... ;)
This is still the best website (by far) about roller coasters. So you have to put up with the *****y queens trolling it.

2 outta 7 so far gonch. Its a better batting average then some major leaguers. And to use the analogy he is like a rook, sometimes i still feel like a rook, and feel like i ask stupid questions. It only can get better with time.

Ya know...this whole "scaring off the newbies" argument has been played over and over...and yet new people are still coming to CBuzz. I think it's a non-issue.

They come and they go just as fast. This leaves us with the same five guys talking among themselves. We pretty much know each others takes/opinions before the response (myself included). I still enjoy the informational aspect of CB, and most certainly will piggyback a debate now and then (not as much as in the beginning though)…BUT some new intelligent posters with fresh ideas/opinions could certainly spice the place up a bit…no? Anyhow…fair to say that this is not the most welcoming of boards. Whether this is ultimately good or bad is hard to say. I’ve lightened my opinion over the past few years and can see how the prevailing attitude might indeed serve as good filter for idiots! I can’t help but think we’ve ran off a lot of good discussion too…?

This thread is a total "diaster!"

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

You look at the threads this guy has started and you believe he's an intelligent poster that would provide good discussion? Apparently you've missed the folks who went at things the right way and weren't complete tools ...

Take LdScotsman for example. I think his first post was the original post in the Cedar Point thread. Since then, he hasn't started vast numbers of threads, his contributions are well spelled and make sense, he offers up a bit of humor and sarcasm where necessary, and he's a completely accepted new member of the board. How come your defense of intelligent, contributing new people always pops up in threads started by hyperactive, senseless, lazy posters? Maybe because those that "deserve" their spot in said intelligent discussion don't make a spectacle of themselves.

--Brett, apparently the inaugural member of the LdScotsman fan club... sorry dude, I'm not stalking you or anything, but you're the only example I got ...

Impuls-ive, who was that directed to?

^ Not you... ;)

LOL!

Wow, 3 pages, and I read every post! The way this thread turned out made me realize that even though I might not post as much as others, I visit this site a lot and really like most of you folks. I really should bite the bullet and attend an event.....
Mamoosh you might not remember this but when I first started posting here you sent me some discount coupons to SFMM and I just thought you were the coolest!
Dexter and Tina, I think you're my all time faves....after Gonch of course! ;)
Oh yeah, and Disaster Transport is ok.

And you want to talk about trolling i think last year we had someone posting how great son of beast was constantly, now that guy wanted to be heard about the worst ride in existence, but please forgive me not pulling the posts, but i think just to let it be.

That was far worse than this ever was.

I really don't think that this is bad. It is a good converation going about the nature of the community of this forum.
Wow a little too many prepositional phrases in that sentence.
Wow. Thanks for the compliment, Macho Nachos. Tina is RAD! ...and Gonch is just plain sexy!

I will not be posting here much after I leave for Sandusky in a few days. Working at CP will keep me from the computer. Everyone will have to come see me at Paddlewheel this year. I'll be the one who looks like the guy in my profile pic. :)
