DEJA VU at SFGAm finally open yeaaa

ok whateever u all may think im lying but u can think that. the kid at superman that holds the line before 10 told me about the new ride.im usaly their every week or everyother week.and yes deja vu has a genarator.when you are in line rite before u get to the top llok to the right u will see it called powertron.and anyway why would i lie i figured if i knew something i would share it with other fans but next time i find out something i wont share.u all are hard to please and not very friendly.
I just wasnt sure what you meant by a generator when you simply said: "they got a generator."

Its just that most rumors like that arent true. We heard about all these times that Deja Vu was to open and none were true. Its just that rumors arent really "accepted" on this site. I wasnt the one who made that rule.

Line today @ 7 PM was about 30 minutes. None of the switchbacks were open...

I've waited 2 years for my ride on DV. FINALLY got it today! I wasn't disappointed!

Wow! I guess the crowds can really change from day to day, but the again there were also tornado warnings, thunderstorm warnings, and all that stuff late this afternoon around Chicago. Did it rain there?

I was at the park tonight from 7:00- 9:00 and i got on Deja Vu in 30 mins thats amazingly fast.So far I have been on it 6 times and each time I havent waited over 45 mins. I know like everyone on the Deja crew and the all try there hardest to get good load times. But it can be hard considering they have to check the belts and then the OTSR's. But there doing an awesome job so far.

Can someone please tell me why the riders cant pull their own OTSRs down! They let 'em do it on all the other rides.

The only benefit from Daja Vu being open is that it lessons the crowd from the other lines such as Raging Bull and Viper. The ride along is a another virson of Boomarang, you ride it just to have it in your track record.

Funny, I think Deja Vu is the best ride in the park.

Riders can pull down the OTSR's. Its just that when you first sit down, you arent allowed to pull them down right away. The ride-ops need to check the lap seatbelt. After that is checked, then you are given the clear to pull the restraint down.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

That is why loading takes so long. Nobody listens to the recording and instantly pulls their restraint down. When I was on it there were alot of people that did that.

Dear coasterdude318

I'm not big on the boomarang sagas, never have, never will be. In my opinion my favorite ride there is Raging Bull, but on Monday August 4th, Raging Bull will be tested with Apollo's Chariot at Busch Garden. In my opinion the best part about roller coasters is the air time. So if a coaster does not have air time I just ride it once to get the track record. I know alot of people are saying Raging Bull is becoming not as good as it was. Thats like me saying Magnum XL-200 is not as good too. I have notice Magnum has more turn bracks too. But same as the Bull it still has great air time.

Again, funny, because I think Deja Vu has more airtime than Raging Bull. :-)

And Magnum is just a piece of junk.

"Daja Vu" as Dustinmania calls it, probably is just another "virson" of a boomerang. Deja Vu, however, is another itteration of a boomerang, and one that does have more out-of-seat time than Bull. I think that Dustinmania is just jelous that he can't ride it as much as other people have. (I myself havn't ridden it in more than a year, and have only twice, and am dying to get back on it.)
I've noticed why they don't let us pull down the OTSR but I may be wrong. When you pull it down the first time it just comes down silently but when everything is said and done and they say you can now pull them down. It gives that click sound so im guessing that maybe if you pull it down to soon it's not going to give you any good use on the ride. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Actually, I've been on Deja Vu a few times (3, I think it is now, but none this year), and I'm not really tripping over myself to get to Great America to ride it.

If the line times are shorter this year, then it may be better, but I still wouldn't wait anywhere near an hour for it.

...and I'm not 'jelous' of the ride (though, I know no one accused ME), because I live 30 minutes away from the thing. I've been on it. It was fun the first time. It was ALSO fun the first time I rode in the front seat.

However, I really do see it as a glorified boomerang. The vertical drop (forward) is nice, but nothing that V2 can't do... and an extra time too. The drop backwards is a little scary, but it suffers from Superman: The Ride syndrome - there's no airtime falling backwards!

It's a fine ride, it just doesn't do much for me. I guess that's a boomerang problem more than anything, because boomerangs in general don't excite me much... anymore.

-Matt, who can definately see how other people could like this ride. I was once one of you. :)

I was there on friday I got on the first train of the day in the 3rd to last seat, I didnt really notice or feel any difference from last year. It was still a great ride. After we got off there was probably only about a 15 min wait to get back on. When we saw it testing a nice little line started to form. On saterday most of the switch backs were full so we skipped it.
Today 8/6, I saw the ride test (or possibly it had people on it, dont know) from the parking lot. This was at 10:23 a.m. I wasnt even gonna go past it until 11:30 beacsue Ive only heard it opens at about 11:33 - 11:30. We went right to it and had a 15 minute wait. 6B. My first ride. the loading was about 4 min except whe people had to get out of their seat after they fastened the orange lap belt to take their shows off and crap. It looks good for the ride. Opening very soon after opening.Tthe sign still said at the park entrance that it may not open today.

I'm glad that Deja Vu is up and running now at SFGAm. I haven't been on it yet, and will be hoping to get on it this weekend. My question is not whether it will be open when I go there. My question: How are the restraints/seat belts on Deja Vu? Are they similar to Batman's? I'm a larger rider, and just squeeze by on Batman and Superman. Thanks for any help. I'm not sure if Deja Vu has a test seat or not.

Midwestracer, Deja Vu doesn't have a test seat, but the restraints are I would say in my opinion tighter than Batman's. Also you have a seat beat which you have to put across yourself before you pull ur restraint down. Hope this helps you out.

Actually, I am going to have to disagree with you here. I am a fairly large rider. I can JUST get Batman restraint down, and on V2 it is a crapshoot. Depends on if the ride op is willing to give the restraint a small push or not. I found Deja Vu's restraints to be among the roomiest (that is for OTSR's) in the park. I had absolutely no problems with my restraint, and my belt actually had some room in it.
