CP (almost) vanishes from Guiness Book of Records

My trophy is in the mail, eh? I can't even begin to think what you mean by that, so I'll refrain from making any remarks based on what I "assume" it means.

Okay, then let me spell it out, Mark....in the words of Morris Day's toad Jerome: "That's (bleeped) up, what you did, Kid."

Maybe you walked away from 9/11 without the scars--physical or emotional-- that many others did. Perhaps it's even true that what people here faced a year ago is the same thing Israelis face every other week. But for thousands and thousands of people it changed their lives forever--from those who lost their loved ones to those who lost their livelihood to kids who just happened to be watching TV and lost their innocence. The dead and the suffering can't just shrug it off.

So respect their right to grieve, okay?

Believe me, Playa, I mean no disrespect to anyone. I apologize if I what I wrote came across as disrespectful to anyone. Like I said (and I don't want a trophy for it), many people I spoke to on a near daily basis at Verizon Communications as part of my job did not make it out of those towers alive. My uncle was forunate enough to be evacuated safely, but I cannot begin to think about those people who lost family members, and how terrible their loss was. I mean no harm or disrespect towards those who are still "dealing" with the reprecussions, I simply meant that it is not wrong to continue living our lives.

As far as Pearl Harbor day goes, CPLady, perhaps I am overly sensitive about that day because I did lose family in that attack. I am wagering that half the people who read my post had no idea what December 7th was in reference to, because it wasn't broadcast live on CNN.

Once again, I apologize if I offended-that wasn't my intention.

Okay, let's get back to the stupid stuff. Where's DLF?

Your opinion was fine Mark... I don't think anyone is going to call you on that. What I (and perhaps the others) took issue with is your notion that we should all just move on. See C-Playa's comments.

No, chatting about coasters will continue as it does any other day, but for me, and undoubtedly a lot of other people, the comments of DLF demonstrate a lack of perspective today.

I may always have bad luck or something, but even if the lines at Cedar Point move fast, I would rather get on Villain, Superman, Big Dipper, or Batman in 20 minutes than Raptor, Mantis, MF, or WT in an hour. If they have the "most" mechanical rides and still some of the longest lines I've come in contact with, I don't know what to say. I don't get to go on every Thuesday or maybe I could get a better experience out of it. Nothing negative toward CP, but I don't notice anything "extra" in the park's equation besides rides and long lines that move. I can say the same(moving lines/capacity) about Disney, BGW, SFGAm, SDC, and PKI in my experiences.

On the other hand, I have no problem waiting an hour for Space Mountain or Peter Pan's Flight or even Maelstrom. I love eating by the lake at Friday's though, so we have to go up north to the Point every year anyways. ;)

I'm with the King on this one. To me, it doesnt make muck difference if both CP and SFGAdv have 65+ rides. It always seems like everyone only whats to rides the same 14 that I want to ride. To me, it's almost a crock. Sure you have a gang of rides, but as a one time visitor there is no way in hell you're going to get to them all.

It's funny though, it seems like the parks with the most rides still have the longest lines....maybe I'm just missing all the great walk on swabinchen rides!

Not to bring it back off-topic but I agree, Jeremy. I've thought of the events of 9/11 at least once a day for the past year. To me the anniversary just feels as if a scab has been ripped off a wound that has yet to heal.

Anyway, back on topic: CP and SFGAdv can keep they're 65+ rides....I'd rather be at Knoebels, Indiana Beach, or Holiday World any time.

Hey, it's the best dark ride in Fantasyland! Had to put my word in for it today. The lines have been too short lately. :)

Winnie the Pooh or Power Tower? Mr. Toad's Wild Ride or Gemini? Snow White or Magnum? Hard to choose, huh? I exaggerated before, but signature rides like Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, Test Track, and Soarin' Over Cali are an easy call. =^P
