CP (almost) vanishes from Guiness Book of Records

Coastaplaya, SF isn't who I was speaking of, Japan park owners are the one's obssessed with speed and height records. Something tells me SFMM in particular will take a "been there, done that, ready for something else" approach. In any event, once parks see CP's work, it will no longer be a prototype anyway.

It's sad to see so many enthusiasts care so much about quantity.

Why? It's a part of the business. Enthusiasts aren't the ones making decisions to add record breaking rollercoasters, parks are. You should know by now that most of us care about most aspects of the business, Cedar Point as well as Holiday World, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

How many rides does SFGA have. I think that CP has 69.

I, am nobody, and nobody is pefect!

It's sad to see everyone seems to think that Cedar Point and Holiday World are the only two parks in the world to break any records or have anything worthwhile to post about.
Who's "everyone"?

People who find CP threads 'sad' or annoying in some way or another should buckle up for a long, long winter and an even longer summer. It's just getting started.

As for 'sad' poster #1: My #1 coaster overall is a 70-foot woodie at a roadside stop in Wisconsin and my #1 steel is BGT's Kumba. Check my coaster count or the (still half-done) CPlaya 100. I know all about quality.

Sad poster #2: I just got done posting a red streak about my local park in the news section. We're getting an Intamin Impulse. Sure, it coulda been taller and more twisted--but it's still in my backyard along with a hyper and a Big Ol' S&S combo. Not bad for 20 minutes from home...

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Bwa ha ha from me too. :P

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.

Mamoosh that's fine with me SFDL is not getting a new coaster next year.

But at least I'am not crying and whining about it. ON the other hand if Cedar Point wasn't getting a coaster next year I'am sure everyone at coasterbuzz would have to chip in and by you a BIB,PACIFIER,DIAPERS because you would be crying and whining all over CB and quite frankly nobody is here to be a babysitter. SORRY BOOHOO!!

And to be quite honest I don't make SFDL my life, like you make cedar point. That makes you a loser.*** This post was edited by darienlakefan on 9/10/2002. ***

Same thing for you "coastaplaya" we'll get you a depends. Bwa ha ha ha : DLF
I don't think every enthusiast only cares about quantity. It may be the slight park lover over coaster lover in me, but CP isn't even one of my Top 15 parks I believe. It doesn't mean I don't love it insanely, but there's better quality out there IMHO. Take your record and I'll go to Dollywood, woo hoo! =^P

When did Great Adv get 73 rides? I would have bet the house I heard a radio spot the other day for CP claiming they had the most rides anywhere. What's going on?

I sense alot of resentment in your post. Take it easy, this stuff is suppose to be fun, not a name calling playground. If you hate Cedar Point so much why do you even care? Why even check out a post with Cedar Point in it. If CP discussion bugs you so much. It is simple, dont click on posts that have Cedar Point in the title.

CPTwister, I have no resentment towards CP I have been to this park at least 7 or 8 times.

I have been to CP every summer except for this summer because I wanted to visit other parks, but that is not the point (Get it?)

I feel like just about everyone here is a CP fan myself Included, but I think that when there is a post about biggest, fastest ride we have Cbuzzers talking about (sarcasm) OH CP has the Best, Oh CP has the fastest ride.

I mean C'mon! Does CP always have to have the fastest, Biggest ride in the world?

NO,There are other parks that have better rides than CP and there are some parks that don't, That doesn't mean that CP is the best or worst park.

Being a fan of CP I can click on whatever CP post I feel like that is concerning Cp. But let's not be so one track minded and put CP on this grand scale IT IS ANOTHER AMUSEMENT PARK!
Not the Dali Lama. SHEEESH!

Based on tonight township meeting, I guess next year SFGadv will have two records. #1 First Park to have 4 B&M coasters, and with the addition of yet 1 more 'mechanical' ridewill retain #2 park with most mechanical rides.

Hooray for someone other than CP holding the record for anything. Oops I forgot it's OK to bash parks as long as they are not CP. I 'll go back to "lurking " now.

I kind of knew that some how my CP post (and the others) would get taken as another CP nut talking. Yea I love CP but I also love IOA, KW Knotts and SFGrtAdv. My fav (non inversion) steel coaster is Nitro. Unfortunitely none of those parks are close to me. The question here was mentioning about CPs records(non) in Guinness. Maybe what I should have said was that I am NOT an enthusiast so records don't bother me nor have an effect on where I'm going or what I will ride. I know CP isn't the only park out there and I have had great fun at other parks and do not spend my time comparing it to CP.
Try to remember that this site evolved from GTTP so naturally there will be ALOT of CP people here. CP just happens to me my personal favorite park-Guinness or not! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and still looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Jo, but what's so funny is that I, the antithesis of a CP fanboy, actually prefer to read the CP posts on GTTP than just about any of the CP threads over here on CBuzz. My thought is that the *real* CP fans tend to post there, while the "wannabees" and "groupies" tend to flock over here where they have the potential to cause controversey (see Coastaplaya's "Theory of Nobody").

Y'all *REAL* CP fans are the coolest! (even if your opinions are off-kilter :))
