this is why before I joined CB a month or so ago, I tried to resist because of the huge forums and I knew there would be a load of ppl there to hate me.....thats why I wanted to stay with coasterglobe as the only forums i use.

At least one other person here agrees with you Trev. Over a year ago there were a few threads (which I obviously won't bring up again) and many people thought the term "biased" grossly understated the moderation -- some left the site, some got kicked off, some just started flaming the mods to no end, and so on. I was one of those that left, but I recently came back to give it another chance. (Shortly before I left I had been "warned" by Jeff concerning posts which I thought were well within the TOS -- I'm still surprised I wasn't booted. That's when my "disclaimer" signature started appearing.)
I still disagree with some of the (IMHO) unbalanced moderation and I really wish opinions weren't regulated as much as they are, but I think that's just something that comes with a moderated site. It has advantages and disadvantages. But it's a dictatorship, not a democracy, and I've found that no amount of emailing or trying to start a reasonable discussion about it will ever produce any results (except maybe getting kicked off for "making noise"). This thread is proof that intelligent discussions/debates without the "you suck, get out" crap just aren't that common here or pretty much anywhere else.
So I agree with you and folks like RubberDucky (in that he who pays the bills and does the work calls the shots). I despise some stuff, but I like some of it (like the trip reports) enough to stick around anyway. My suggestion is, if you can't take it then leave, and I mean that in a nice way. It's not worth your trouble trying to change something that won't change, and nobody here wants to have their ideas or their toes stepped on either.
Sorry for all the rambling; thanks to anyone who is actually still reading. And to anyone offended, I really mean what my signature says...
