Coasting For Kids 2012

The same thing kept me from participating last year. Kings Island is the closest theme park from me, at three-and-a-half hours. A hotel is very necessary; I'm not as young as I used to be. Driving a gas guzzler doesn't help either.

I'll have no problem this year with coming up with the funds to pay for my trip, if I decide to do it, but I relate to Billy's post above probably more than you think.

That's the great part about being a virtual rider. No need to go to the actual event/pay for hotels and gas, but you can still raise money!

I wouldn't put myself through that. I don't even like putting myself through Gemini all day. It's not worth the pain, headache and everything else.

Almost a week in and we just about up to $10K! A few of the parks have hit the ground running. While others only have a couple participants. Overall, we're off to a great start. Lets keep the ball rolling. If you haven't signed up yet, here is the link:

If you can't or don't want participate, but would still like to help out, maybe you could make a donation to my page.

Just curious about something. I think I asked this last year. There's a person named Ryan Newton listed as a fund-raiser at multiple parks for Coasting For Kids. Does that mean he's doing the "virtual rider" thing at more than one park?

AND....Dorney Park...where AAAARRRRE you?

Oh, I'm sorry, haven't you heard? Dorney is where it's at! ;)

I know that. :)

I meant the schedule/details. Even though Chuck isn't there any longer, he hinted last year the what is now known as Stinger might be involved.

We're over $20,000 so far.

Additionally, Knott's has released their details.

Go here to check it out/sign up.

Am I looking in the wrong place Jason? Because I don't see the Knott's details. I have been waiting for CGA to release details as well, but so far haven't seen anything. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place on theirs too? :-D

Probably. It isn't on the FirstGiving page yet. But, if you are on the Coastingforkids page and hover over Knott's on the map, the details will pop up on the right side of the page.

Although the Dorney details haven't been posted yet. Someone on "Dorney Park Online" seems to think it will be on Steel Force again.

So far everyone participating in Coasting for Kids have raised more that $27,000 to help Give Kids the World. We still need lots more help. And for those who don't want to ride, send me or one of the other wonderful participants a donation.

I'll be willing to take Jason's sloppy seconds. I have no qualms about that. Last year I raised over $800, including $1 that came through CoasterBuzz. Maybe I can double that portion this year. Come on, guys! Help a brudda (and some great kids) out!
