Coasting For Kids 2012

^No Travis, that doesn't make you a bad person ;)

But your devil music - I dunno....

I wish my home park Great America was doing something like this. I would love to ride the Whizzer all day. There was a local firefighter who did that all day a couple years ago. I could probably ride Eagle all day, too.

You're totally a bad person.

I'd like to encourage everyone to join my team this year. I won't be physically at the event, because I will be in New York that weekend, but Team Dopey Turtle! will still rock the fundraising portion.

Nice.

Jason -

Did Kara give you a heads up that the page is now available;)

On a serious note the idea of riding Magnum for the 2 hours in the morning may be enough to get me to do this. Does that make me a bad person because I want to do this because of the coasters???

Last edited by Shades,

I just set up my page for this year and registered. The registration fee is down to $25, and the fundraising minimum for participation remained flat at $75. If any of my fellow Coaster Buzzers are interested in helping out and tossing a few bucks to GKTW and riding with me in spirit, my page is below. Thanks!

I was debating about whether to be a virtual rider or ask people to sponsor someone else, but with a team name like that, now I *have* to join in. :)

They were really hoping to wait for the C4K main page to be up, with the locations, FAQ, etc., but I guess some people can't contain their excitement.

A huge thanks to Jeff and all of the CB members that have been behind this event since the beginning! This all wouldn't have been possible without your ongoing support and passion for helping the mission of GKTW.

As a fellow coaster nerd, I'm thrilled to see how this community puts their passion for roller coasters to work for an amazing cause. As a GKTW staff member, I'm emotional just thinking of all of the deserving families you are helping us serve by supporting this event.

If any of you find yourself in the Orlando area and would like a tour of the Village, please let me know! I would be honored to show you around our whimsical resort. Just be sure to contact me in advance so that we can schedule a tour, as our facility is not open to the public.

Again, I deeply appreciate everyone's dedication to growing and supporting this event. Happy fundraising!

You coming to Dorney again this year, Kara? Enjoyed meeting and riding with you last year!

Same to you, Mike! The Dorney group set the bar pretty high because you all were a LOT of fun. My fate has yet to be determined this year, but you can bet I'll be riding alongside some of you, somewhere :).

Hey folks... I know I've been absent around here lately, but I'm in for Dorney Park and more than willing to take your money! ;) Seriously, there's nothing more worthwhile for coming back than GKTW!

As always, Dorney is where it's at! :)

Thanks Mike. It's definitely a team effort. If we're going to surpass last years total, it will require everyone to put forth their best effort.

Darnit... now I really wanna do CFKids this year. If it didn't cost so much to pay for hotels and gas, I would soooo be there.

ACE has a tool that goes somewhat underutilized called eCRIBB (Events Carpool & Roommate Interactive BBS).It's a bulletin board where people can get together to car pool and coordinate room sharing. I've used it and found it to be very helpful.

It's a members only feature. Maybe a CoasterBuzz Carpool Committee is in order :)
