It was a blast!
The night before, I was at work, and the company vehicle broke down. This caused me to have to stay about 4 hours hours late for work. I was planning to get a 3 or 4 hours sleep before I had to drive to Kings Island, but I wasn't going to be able to, and this dilemma made me contemplate not going.
I decided to go anyways. I tried to sleep in my car in the McDonnald's parking lot about an hour before we met at the park at 6am, but it wasn't working for me. I spent all day at the park without sleep. I didn't go back to sleep until I checked in to my hotel room. I figured out that I went 36 hours without sleep. I've never done anything like that before, and I never will again. It made me loopier than I already am.
I rode a lot with a wish kid who came to the event with his family. Thirteen-year-old Michael Gibson sat with me most of our rides on Racer. He had about ten rides more then me. I couldn't handle the marathoning like I used to. I think I rode it 30 times total. I spent the entire first half of the day riding with him and hanging out with his very nice family.
Gibson visited Give Kids The World Village when he was younger. His mom told me all about it, and how normal he turned out to be despite his illness.
I got to meet "David Wetterstroem" and his family (in person); very nice people. I also got to meet a few other CoasterBuzzers, although some of them wouldn't tell me their screen names (understandably, I suppose lol). It seemed like most participants at the event were from kingsislandcentral.
I did win one of the VIP tours. I have to use it before Labor Day, which might prove to be a challenge.
One note of interest is that Don Helbig mentioned to the group during lunch that the park hasn't decided what to do with SOB yet, and they probably wont decide until the end of the season next year.
The whole day was amazing, even though I couldn't handle riding Racers the entire time. I think that I fell asleep while standing in line for Firehawk. :p

As a former wish family (1987) and a participate at the event at Cedar Point, I wanted to say thank you to everyone at CoasterBuzz who participated!
It was great fun yesterday even if my Gemini ride totals didn't come anywhere near the rest of y'all. (I had 21.)
Was Josh Hammond's 142 laps the highest they've ever had on Gemini then?
AND... thank you for having posted a notice about the event on Facebook! That's where I learned of it to begin with. :)

That is CP, KI didn't even give us beverages through out the day.
LK, it was a pleasure meeting you too. I don't think I would have ever picked you out of a line up based on your avatar.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
Yeah. It's a camera trick. lol I am fatter and uglier in person. ;)
I picked you out right away.
Were we the only two CoasterBuzzers there, out of 30 people?
It was nice to meet you too, even if you did yell at me for standing in front of the secret ice water stash.

Brings me back to when I met Moosh at BGW.. Wearing my typical VT swag he walked past me :)
Dave on the other hand spotted me fairly quick.

Haha! LK and I sort of met at PPP a few years ago, but didn't realize it until later. Some kid he was with who was in costume as Darth Vader started swinging a light saber at me as I entered the rest room near Phoenix.
Something like that, RGB. I'm pretty sure he was trying to carry on a conversation with you while you were standing at the urinal.
