It looks great, I've already pre-order it! Their is only one thing I want to know, how easy is it to pick up on the editor. I like the NL style editor, will it be hard for me to learn how to use this editor, or is it user friendly? I worried that I won't like the editor causing me to lose interest in the game, is it hard to get use to it, compared to the NL editor? Anyways I can't wait to try and make a 4D coaster, this game looks great

Oh...the Intamin style inverted coaster looks fine, what coaster have you been looking at?

I think the editor is easy to pick up. In some ways you can be more precise because you can plug in numeric values to the orientation and tension of the track nodes (whereas this was accomplished in NL with control handles). For example, you can make a half-circle very precisely because you can set one node for a heading of 180 and the next 0, then adjust their tension sliders to the same numeric value.

I can't emphasize enough how cool the test loop function is. If you wanted to make a loop as big as possible, for example, you'd select the nodes that start and end the loop, put it into loop test mode, and scale your loop while you watch the train go through it. That means if you make it too big and the train can't get through it, you know instantly.

I really like all those screenshots.Do you think you could do some stained-up & maybe more hyper coaster screens I love the hyper coaster they got.
Also how does the train ride on the track? Is it like No Limits or different. *** This post was edited by Xtreme15 on 8/17/2002. ***

Even if it is Windows 95 compatible your system will make the frame rate so slow.

Are you sure that it is coming out in stores on the first week of September? The reason I asked is because Amazon is already shipping them out! They say that the game now ships in 3-5 days and they told me that my copy is scheduled for delivery at my house on August 19!

I've got three questions, on the retail box it looks like you can connect all your rides witrh footpaths. Can you? And in the Staion fly-by screenshot you can see a sign. What is the sign used for? And on the loop editor screenshot what does it mean, enter. It's on the upper-right corner. Thank you!

I am not sure if some one answered this, or asked, when does the game come out, like a day, not just end of august-ish.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but on the Intamin Impulse can you make a straight back spike and put a holding brake on it? If so then im definitely going to upgrade my computer and get HyperRails!!
So the editor's easier than No Limits'? Good. I've had NL since November and I still can't make a smooth helix, let alone smooth coaster. Sigh. Should I really shell out the money for this game? I really like the two coasters in one area thing!

Hey jeff, was i right? Looks like a UC3D editor to me! With bezier handles ( Like No Limits ), you CAN me it ultra smooth. Welp, i guess i'll wait for NL to come out with a 4D patch, because i hated UC3D's editor.

I know for a fact that the gold master went out today, so I can assure you that it is not being shipped by Amazon.

I love how all of you are so sure that one game is going to be better than the other when you haven't even seen it. That's sad... this isn't religion, you can't take it on faith.

I can assure you that this game has more detail than any of the others to this point. There is no contest to that. You can see the brake plates on the Giovanola car spines, the lift steps and railings aren't just flat textures (like NoLimits), the advancing wheels and brakes are very detailed, trains and stations are detailed, supports are any size (thickness) you want. Make no mistake, this is the prettiest one to date.

And wait until you see the editor. The support editor in particular is stunning, and you can deform a support structure so that all of the welds say connected. It really is awesome.

If there is a battle coming for the best game, it will be between Hyper Rails and NoLimits. And in our case, it won't matter because we'll all likely have them both. Just remember that Hyper Rails has retail distribution too, so it will likely be in far more hands.

Jeff, how hard is it to change the colors of the trains? In the 4d screen shots the cars have the same colors as X and well the track is completely different, why didn't you change the color? If it is easy can you put up more shots of different colored 4D trains.

No Limits runs just fine with a decent frame rate on my PC,of course I've only got the NL demo though.

As long is it's win95 compatible then it's good enough for my PC.

so, is the sound better than NoLimits? That was something that i didnt like about nolimits

Hey how long does it take you to create a coaster?
