CoasterBuzz has posted a preview of the forthcoming PC game, Hyper Rails. The new roller coaster simulation will include a variety of coaster types that you can build and will hit stores the first week of September. Update includes six new screen shots of Impulse.
Wrong shape? Did someone change rectangles and triangles?

It looks great, I've already pre-order it! Their is only one thing I want to know, how easy is it to pick up on the editor. I like the NL style editor, will it be hard for me to learn how to use this editor, or is it user friendly? I worried that I won't like the editor causing me to lose interest in the game, is it hard to get use to it, compared to the NL editor? Anyways I can't wait to try and make a 4D coaster, this game looks great
Oh...the Intamin style inverted coaster looks fine, what coaster have you been looking at?
I think the editor is easy to pick up. In some ways you can be more precise because you can plug in numeric values to the orientation and tension of the track nodes (whereas this was accomplished in NL with control handles). For example, you can make a half-circle very precisely because you can set one node for a heading of 180 and the next 0, then adjust their tension sliders to the same numeric value.
I can't emphasize enough how cool the test loop function is. If you wanted to make a loop as big as possible, for example, you'd select the nodes that start and end the loop, put it into loop test mode, and scale your loop while you watch the train go through it. That means if you make it too big and the train can't get through it, you know instantly.

Even if it is Windows 95 compatible your system will make the frame rate so slow.

I know for a fact that the gold master went out today, so I can assure you that it is not being shipped by Amazon.
I love how all of you are so sure that one game is going to be better than the other when you haven't even seen it. That's sad... this isn't religion, you can't take it on faith.
I can assure you that this game has more detail than any of the others to this point. There is no contest to that. You can see the brake plates on the Giovanola car spines, the lift steps and railings aren't just flat textures (like NoLimits), the advancing wheels and brakes are very detailed, trains and stations are detailed, supports are any size (thickness) you want. Make no mistake, this is the prettiest one to date.
And wait until you see the editor. The support editor in particular is stunning, and you can deform a support structure so that all of the welds say connected. It really is awesome.
If there is a battle coming for the best game, it will be between Hyper Rails and NoLimits. And in our case, it won't matter because we'll all likely have them both. Just remember that Hyper Rails has retail distribution too, so it will likely be in far more hands.
