CoasterBuzz Club Fall Affair 2005 at Holiday World!

My (Non-C-Buzz Member) registration was mailed out well in advance of the opening in order to make sure I would get in. I so can't wait to see everyone and get a bunch of night time rides as due to working out of town I haven't been able to wrangle that many this year.

Have Fun

Paula plugged the event.

It'll be interesting to see what this does to 'the mix'. I don't believe I've ever seen an event like this plugged anywhere other than an enthusiast site.

I wasn't sure what I felt about this at first, but I reckon it's Will and Paula's party and they can invite whoever they want! Hopefully we'll get some cool new folks hooked on 'The Buzz'

None of the CoasterBuzz events have been "typical" in terms of the people they attract. Our events are just... different. Less geeky, more social I might even say. At PKI at least, we end up spending much time in the last few hours of park operation not forcing a few extra laps, but hanging out at Lt. Dan's. ;)

And just a reminder to all who are staying at the campground that there will be other people there. Be courteous!

^Agreed. Granted I have only been to one Coasterbuzz event (Beastbuzz '04) but I found the event more "relaxed" than some of the other enthusiast events I have attended. Heck we barely rode any coasters that day. It was all about friends and hanging out.

Plus it was too crowded to stand in lines. ;-)

I am REALLY looking forward to this event. My registration (as well as my friend's) is en route. We are not staying in the campground afterall, but we WILL be there and will find the damn party this time.

Not to knock ACE or anything, but this year I did not renew my ACE membership because, frankly, I have more fun at the Cbuzz events. As mentioned, the people are more laid back, much less critical of what the parks provide, and I've never had a bad time at a Cbuzz event.

CB events are great. Everyone seems to be nice and relaxed, as opposed to coaster tools. Good times were definitely had at the last CB event, and this one looks to be pretty damn good.
Jeff, that's exactly why I'm saying it'll be interesting to see how the folks who come due to the blog entry affect the atmosphere. Regular coasterbuzz readers tend to be one of a few different types, thus an event advertised only on coasterbuzz would only draw those types. Being advertised on a general park blog may draw different types... not better or necessarily worse, just different than the regular coasterbuzz types.
5 weeks... cannot wait.

I look at this as an opportunity for "HW enthusiasts" to get a taste of an event.

Plus this is *the* opportunity to get a Voyage construction tour. I want to make sure anyone who can't live without one knows that they're welcome to sign up.

The folks who keep up with the HoliBlog, I think, will fit right in...and I mean that in the nicest possible way. :)

I missed all the Buzz events this year & am counting the days until this one, esp since I haven't made it down to HW yet this year. I did notice that the CB event I attended (BB 2004) was much more laid back & not just about gaining credits. We also didn't ride much that day because we were having too much fun enjoying everything/one else.

I think it's great that Paula is trying to convert the locals to enthusiasts, since they have easy access to two (STB three) of the best woodies ever.

I like to ride woodies.

I can't wait. My form was mailed today and it is "Completely Filled Out".

If I remember correctly, didn't PKI promote BestBuzz 04 via the season pass newsletter?

LOL! Well said.

I just love that word. :-) You will always have a few tools at most events, but usually people ignore them anyway.

I am still upset that I cannot yet verify that I can make the event... I want to go so bad.

In between being in Chicago for two weeks in September (for work), and Israel (for work/pleasure?) for Three weeks in October... I have so much to fill in the schedule I do not know if I can make, or when I could commit to it.

I already learned my lesson Registering for CBCon 2005 and not being able to attend last minute.

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

Yep, BeastBuzz 2004 was plugged in the e-mail newsletter that year, since it was the official celebration of the Beast's 25th.

Right now we're about a third of the way to capacity, but we've also got four weeks left before the deadline. I doubt we'll do on-site registration (which is a pain anyway because you keep the catering people at the host park guessing up until the last minute).

^ Taken care of!
Does anybody have any intel on hotels in the area and whether or not reservations need to be made at this point? I think there is a Motel 6 somewhere near Holiday World that is pretty new that I used to stay at during SRM. . .

Barry J.

Btw. How do I know I have a spot when there is no confirmation? I don't feel like going to the registration there and then get told I didn't make it...
