Coaster Shows favor California Parks

They could at least show some of the mid-western U.S. parks. Obsessed w/California.LOL

Yeah they're tied but coaster shows always stretch the truth a little, I mean it's the travel channel, they're not going to mind lying a little to make a park sound better, they do the same thing on every coaster show...

"It was sure nice of Mr. Krabs to give me a job here!" "And at $50 an hour too! When I started, i had to pay Mr. Krabs $100 an hour!"

They said that Desperado was clocked in at over 90 MPH, bite me, learn your facts TC. Also, I am sick of X, god how much can you take of the same shots, same POV, same boring @$$ documentarys about an un-active coaster, come on! (this might just be because im tired)

I am disgusted with the travel channel, david escalante, magic mountain coasters, vegas's coasters, the old fart with the bananna come on really cedar point is the real coaster capital mf 's drop makes goliaths look stupid intamin rules wicked twister cant be touched superman ros at sfne is better than x or any ride at magic mountain why dont they show david esc at cedar point the guy probally never been out of cali anyways the best coaster on the west coast is intamins xcellerator at knotts so film that travel channel

Wait a minute. Discovery Channel, Learning Channel, all of those do East Coast Parks all the time. Cedar Point, Kennywood, and both Busch Gardens are always on. I mean they did two shows on the largest Amusement Parks, one on Magic Mountain and the second on Cedar Point. They got the East Coast on lock.

SFGAdv's Medusa and SFMW's Medusa are not clones...they just share the same name. They feature different elements.

Yeah. They used to cover Ceadar Point, Knobles, Kennywood and BGW on Amusement Parks the pursuit of fun. Be patient SFOG will come up soon for S:UF. Was there not a whole show about the building of Lightning Racer? I'm also quite sure that this show was made before CP add WT so don't get so upset. And yeah, these are made for people who want to visit big tourist states. How many "regular people" would want to go to Idaho from Florida to ride CCIs? I've seen coverage on GCI putting the finishing touches on their first coaster. The Wildcat (HP). Steel Force was on a countdown of top ten coaster. And please they can't get enough of CP. I've never been there, but I know I can't get enough of it.

Golith and Roar are semi-clones. Almost exact.

Isn't Davis Escalente the president of ACE on the west coast or something like that? Of course he would be asked to be on the shows.

I turned them off before they were over too but I'm not going to complain about them. It's no big deal. Turn off the TV and turn on the computer, or go take a nice summer night walk, or write a poem/song/story, or go to bed. It seems like I see these shows too much. They are starting to bore me as well. I will NEVER be bored with the real thing though.

It WOULD be really cool to feature smaller parks on a coaster show....have one show with only coasters like Raven and Legend, BoulderDash, Cornball and LoCoSuMo, Timber Terror and Tremors, Dania Beach Hurricane, Screeching Eagle, WildFire (and the new New Mexico Rattler)....small parks with big coaster thrills....

just give some free publicity to the folks who can use it....before they become a Visionland/Jazzland....

oh, and David Escalante is a regional rep in CA...

Once again, no one includes PKI's Vortex on any of these lists, even though it was the tallest in the world when it was built, was the first coaster with 6 inversions, and is definitely a one of a kind. Not to mention that it is beautiful to watch, so it would be perfect for TV.
An Indiana Special would be nice...focusing half on Holiday World and the other half on Indiana Beach. IB needs some airtime!

They have a good blend of east coast parks in their shows including CP, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Disneyworld, and kennywood.

Remember guys, Discovery, TLC, and Travel Channel are all owned by the same company.

It was funny how some things were so out of date, like showing SFMW's original V2, when the holding brake actually worked. Judging by the sparse crowds, that was probably filmed during the initial test runs. Another clip showed our friend, Mr. Escalante talking about Arrow's 700 foot tall fish hook on the Stratosphere.

"when I think of coasters out there, quality un-cloned rides I think of are... Goliath, Roar, Medusa,"
Madusa IS a clone..the first being built at SFGAD..
Batman: the Ride also a clone..there are NUMEROUS throughout the country..
What ticked me off was the show elaborating on SFMM being the park with the MOST coasters..CP STILL holds that record.
They also said that Desperado was the first Hyper..I thought Magnum was? So many descrepancies in these shows, I'll tell ya..
Disney's CALI Adventure having a top 10 coaster? Since WHEN?
I swear some of the people who are on these shows do some kind of drug..they are NOT coaster enthusiasts by far!

Medusa WEST is totally different from Medusa EAST.

They said Desperado was one of the first hyper coasters, which it was.

----------------------------------------------------------

The shows did not elaborate around Magic Mountain, Magic Mountain just had a lot more to offer. They did say that with the opening of X, Magic Mountain did have honor of being of the park with the most coasters. Which was true for a short time until Wicked Twister was not finished yet.

California Screamin' is golden and an awsome ride with three launches and great effects. It was one enthusiasts epinion that it was one of his top ten coaster which is totally understandable. I can go out and start saying the Maggie was in no way a top ten coaster and sound as bogus as you do.

Tonight was all about the West, and if you knew where the West was then you wouldn't be complainin' like crabgrass under the sun. Same with the 4 hour special they had on Florida parks, these two places are the two largest toursist destinations in the country and have two of the largest economies in the world alone.

-----------------------------------------------------

Again Goliath is a clone of what? EXACTLY!!!! NOTHING!!!!

Roar features differences from start to finsish and that came straight from Jeff and Mikes' mouths(Co-owners of GCI)

---------------------------------------------------------

This show was filmed before Xcellerator opened anyway Superdud1. IF you want Cedar Point, why didn't you watch the one hour special on nothing but Cedar Point and the one hour special about things to do in Ohio. They featured those shows back to back and I could of complained about not getting the rest of the world on those show too. David Escalante has been on over 200 coaster worldwide just so you know, and probably knows more about Superman than you could ever squeeze out. Talked to him while riding Roar at Marine World, he's a very smart person who knows what he's talking about.

------------------------------------------------------------

And yes Desperado has been clocked in at 90 mph before, notice they didn't say max, because it doesn't reach that everytime and rarely ever does.

------------------------------------------------------------

They should go down to the Midwest and Florida for some other coasters.

You guys are starting to sound like biggere fools than those coaster phobes and little Chelsey with her hair up and tall boots.

They just had a Florida marthon in June, you guys get mad over one night? These shows are reruns and tonight was about the West coast. Two weeks ago it was two hours of Euro Coaster King and Disneyland Paris.

The week before they did DisneyWorld, IoA, Seaworld, BGT, and Florida Vacations all in a row for 4 hours.

Before that it was an hour documentary on Cedar Point followed by an hour documentary on thing to do in Ohio. I could start saying that I could only take so much of Maggie and MForce, but I don't because what I wanted were coasters shows and that is what we got.

Before this was Thrills Chills and Spills Marathon which barely touched the west coast, so I could complain there. Ghostrider, V2, and Goliath were all they touched out here. The three shows consisted mainly of the midwest.

You guys act like these three show are all that they ever show, butthese three show are the only ones based solely on the west coast and in all the others, the west is barely touched.

By the way, X is operating now.

No, do some research, they are clones, with only one different element, the cobra roll was changed to a sea serpent. IMO the cobra roll is much better, and much more intense. I think GAdv's is a tad bit longer though. Kraken is better than both of them though.

Top 10:

3)Beast 2)Nitro
1)Magnum

No...they are similar, but not clones. Look at some pictures of the two rides. GAdv's has a diving first drop and MW's has a straight down drop. GAdv's also has interlocking corkscrews which MW's doesn't.

Do some reasearch, one the lifts are totally different, then there's the sea serphent, and the endings are totally different as well, Medusa WEST has multiple insane turns and helixes for a finale, not a pair of interlocking corkscrews and a turns into the brakes. They start of with same three inversions and finish totally different. It's like calling Pyrenees and Batman:The Ride clones because they both start of with loop-roll-loop, but who am I kidding, Batman never came close to the shear madness that Pyrenees gave me. Just because you favor GAdv doesn't mean you have to put out all that bologna. Most people favor Medusa WEST, and for someone whose ridden both, I can say that the sea serphent gives a much better transition and feeling than the cobra roll and that Medusa WEST is far more intense and wilder.

I would like to see a show about New England parks. I know that's never going to happen though because there is so few. I would still like to see Lake Compounce on at least one show. It's the oldest amusement park in America. It also has one of the best wooden coasters, Boulder Dash.

S:RoS ( SFNE ) is #1!

Whoo-hoo!!!! More footage of X for me!! I love watching that coaster in action!
