Chris Sawyer posts high-res RCT 2 screen shots

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Chris Sawyer, the developer of RollerCoaster Tycoon and the forthcoming sequel, has posted some higher resolution images and a few new ones on his site. The visible features include: load/unload stations, block brakes, banked turning drops, the scenario editor, doznes of theme objects, spinning mice, Impulses, etc. See how many new things you can spot!

Show me the photos!

In picture 12 you can see some peeps standing around watching the ride. On the second hill of De ja vu' there is no cable I hope we can add a cable and bigger inversions. I also hope for the impulse you can add more vehicles and I wish the seats wouldn't look seperated from each other like that. I still can't wait for this game and those are my only complaints.
Wow Deja Vu looks awesome!

Top 5 Coasters
1.Deja Vu(SFGAm) 2.Raging Bull(SFGAm) 3.Millennium Force(CP)
4.CornBall Express(IB)
5.Viper(SFGAm)

Still the big questions for me are waterparks, skycoaster, thrill rides, and Night time. Night time looks doubtful but I am still hoping. Also I really hope that we can connect S&S towers like Power Tower.

I wonder if the peeps will get different rides from different cars on the coasters. I know it's a lot to ask for but it would be cool.

One thing that I am a little disappointed in not having is more track parts. I'm VERY grateful for the banked drops and ups, and in the blue hurricane pic, it looks like there's some other new parts (specifically, the one being placed), but only having 3 angles for a drop, or 2 radii for turns gets a little boring after a while. After all, coaster building is the main focus of the game.

In any case, I'll be in line when it releases with everyone else. Very very excited.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?

DeJa-Vu isnt really accurate...but i love the vertical lift!

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

I think that people need to wait because we still have like 5 months until the game comes out. Also, I've noticed one new track peice and that is the vertical twist. It is possible with any type of coaster I think. It is shown clearly in the pic with the big orange hyper where it dropa into those transparent box things.

I think they need to have churro carts and dippin dot carts! ;)
So, are there actually going to be scenarios that you have to beat on this game or no? Also, since there are all of these Six Flags parks on the game, are Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the gang going to be characters on the staff?
LOL Koppman! "Are you sure you want to sack Sylvester?" LMAO....of course now we see every kind of cartoon character imaginable at SF parks. So I suppose they'd need the Hanna Barbera folks too. I'd love to see a Jabber Jaws walking around! :) I am just pumped for this game. Every time I view a screenshot I see something new. That Riverchon spinning mouse is really something else. I LOVE the Goliath sign. I don't suppose we'll get the Demon pipe and eyes for the SFGAm option....

Don't.....look.....back! The Headless Horseman awaits you in 2002!
Model coasters and rides
There is a big sign for Goliath - dunno if it's custom since it's an SF ride or what, but it looks nice.
*in order for the deja vu thing to be realistic IT MUST VALLEY!!!!!!!!*

I hope the game looks all cheesy all over like the original.

i love cheesy graphics.
obviouly no B&M camelback inversions then

B&M FLYERS OR BUST!!!!!!

i heard the intamin pipeline was going to be in this, maybe thats what the spiral coaster will be, cool.

oh why are the supports so crappy

Chris Sawyer take note of this

*realistic SLC trains, the wheel assemblies run on the inside of the track and NOT the outside, he just shoved the old B&M 2 seat trains on it and called it a suspended looping coaster, and most SLCs have 10 cars per train*

hot rod trains. ala Xcelerator

realistic dive machine trains

dead bodies in underwater view after you drown em, hehehe

is it just me or do those new monorail trains kick ass??

it would be very cool if construction workers came and built your rides over the certain period of time needed to build them, like a year or so for the bigger coasters and smaller amounts of time for the smaller things like impulses, hey colossus at thorpe park took 2 years to build,

realistic money amounts

grand openings for big rides like major coasters where peeps gather around the que entrance and when its opened they all rush in and try to get in line first.

realistic vekoma flyer please, the current trains look stupid and unreal and the track cant be bent like the real thing.

ability to kick bad guests out of the park at the click of a button,

realistic crashes, a whole train doesnt blow up and kil everyone on board!!!!!!!.

crash survivors!!!!

holding brake on impulse

stengel dive

thats only a bit of my rant but to make things real if ya'll know what i mean. what do you fellas reckon will be in the game from this list and what wont be???

two things I didnt notice and one of these I may have just missed thus far and somebody else saw it...

1. Overbanked turns - more than just for Intamin too, I would love to make Mr. Freeze.

2. In order to complete Mr. Freeze I need a tophat. Havent seen one yet, I am sure it will be there though. I hope.

I am starting to warm up to this game now after seeing the high res shots. I am seeing more and more possibilies over the original that I am starting to get seriously stoked.

i agree
Like wickedtwisted mentioned, I hope we are enabled to join the "Whoa Belly" S&S tower rides together at the top with a marquee and connecting arches like the real combo towers...
i just noticed that i dont think we will be able to switch between dual-rail,tri-rail and quad-rail track on the intamin, i thought we were gonna get realistic intamins
Hey Kick the sky since they have the priemere coasters hopefully we should have vertical track since we have the in line twist and corckscrews. I also saw banked drops hopefully that would help make Mr. Freeze. Why does the impulse coaster trains look kinda of funny? I don't like them. Just can't wait for the game to come out.
those impulse trains are actually very accurate (not like ive ever seen them first hand cos i live in new zealand and have only ever ridden two coasters, one the only looping coaster in the country, which is an 1982 arrow loopscrew, and the other a babbage mine train, very rare indeed, but it SUX)

but enought of my coaster deprivation (the guys at coaster globe know all about it)...............if only the impulse trains had seven cars in the picture in would look like S:UE and if it had 8 cars and different colours WT.

i like the look of those impulses. id like to be able to see a ride op though

If you EVER ride Flashback at nigh

Maybe Vekoma needs to hire Chris Sawyer... Deja Vu probably works in this game!!!

Well I have to say that I was expecting a little more out of this, but hey I'll be in line to buy it regardless, vetter to have something than nothing.

I saw the stairs on X, but I haven't seen them on any other lifts. Hopefully they'll be added later.

I'm glad that we have vertical supports for SLCs, but the towers look kind of clunky.

Also look at the picture with the big orage B+M coaster. Notice the clamshell restraints (well, that appears to be them).

One last thing: look at the bottom of the pic with the wood coaster, there is something resembling a mine train. I can't tell if this is a Premier-type launched coaster, or if it's something else. Any ideas?
