Cedar Point flyer all but confirmed?

Wow. That takes me back to a picture I saw years ago of a park from the turn of the last century that had a wooden coaster encircling the entire park. I always thought it would be cool to have a coaster fly over the entrance like that.

Knott's comes close. I wonder if they were a little inspired by that?

What's up Nasai!?

Wingriders are ok at best and hopefully B&M can design better restraints for these coasters. I haven't ridden Xflight yet, but the otsr on wild eagle suck big time as they crush the crap out of you even after the ride is over and your sitting on the brake run.

Here's the video

What's with the weird backwards part? That's an...erm...interesting choice.

Will be even more bad arse if they add in some foot chopper elements in the low sections.

^^ That's just CP showing off the time traveling part of the ride

I didn't get it either. It appears that the attempt was: "Let's skip the really cool tower double-fly-through on the first forward run, see if people get all upset, back it up, and show 'em."

Ummm....okay.

While there is understandably a fair amount of discussion going on at PointBuzz there doesn't seem to be much going on here. Did everyone get the discussion out of our systems with the early leaks?

So now that the ride has been officially announced... can anyone reverse-engineer the meaning of the last "hint" they gave us?

Of course not.

I thought the rule was that these 'games' are nonsensical time wasters and it doesn't matter because no one ever goes back after the fact and assigns accountability to the stupidity.

(and with that someone will come by and explain why it all makes perfect sense - even the 'banshee' clue)

Don't care, am super excited, can't wait!!!

I, for one, expected it to be a big box of Whyte Lightning cookies and nothing more. ;)

I just multiplied all the numbers together. The result is the amount of interest I had in deciphering the clues.

That clue was easy to decipher.

0= nothing

7= the seventh letter in the Alphabet = G

91 is a little tricky. You have to go through the alphabet a few times to get to M.

97 is tricky too... S

21 = U

2 = B

So now we have (nothing) GMSUB

Which means:

Nothing Gatekeeper's Mother Says Upsets Barrack.

Which means that Raptor is probably The Gatekeeper's mother and she can't say anything to make our President angry or sad.

:p

I never would have figured that out...

From the Park's spokesperson herself:

"Sometimes they're clues that may throw people off and we did play around with that with Gatekeeper. We did throw out some clues there that basically led them to nowhere. But we just have fun with it and we hope that our guests have fun with it, too, because that's really what we want. We want to just keep driving the excitement and getting them thinking about the future."

I'm in disbelief over the online forum wars that have started over misinformation. It's meant for fun and that's it. There is no way the park is going to even remotely clue us in on exactly what the new attraction is.

But that's why I don't pay attention nor waste time decipering "clues." Just ask people at the park and laugh at their answers :)

How to say the exact same thing in two entirely different ways...

In Park PR-speak:

"Sometimes they're clues that may throw people off and we did play around with that with Gatekeeper. We did throw out some clues there that basically led them to nowhere. But we just have fun with it and we hope that our guests have fun with it, too, because that's really what we want. In Gonch-speak:

"...these 'games' are nonsensical time wasters and it doesn't matter because no one ever goes back after the fact and assigns accountability to the stupidity."

the online forum wars that have started over misinformation

Wow. Really? Some people don't have enough to do.

In other words, "0 7 91 97 21 2" is this year's "Whyte Lightning." :)

Edit: I just realized I made a Whyte Lightning reference just two days ago on this very same page. It's been a long week.

I agree! Pointbuzz became unreadable because of the online pissing matches over people deciphering clues.

It's audacious and stupid to just make up a clue that leads the reader nowhere. Where is the integrity that Cedar Point preaches so enthusiastically to their employees? It reminds me of a story about a boy who cried wolf too many times.

If they are going to make up some kind of silly puzzle, at least reward the people who are trying to decipher it with some kind of meaningless clue about the future highly anticipated expansion. Don't lie to your fans. All they want is to be thrown a little buzz-worthy bone.
