Whatever is going in is on Millenium island as the cp blog refers to...

Intimidator 305 the tallest most hated coaster nobody has ever ridden...

For all you Browns fans...

How about the park threatens the state to leave because it wants new land and when it doesn't get it, it just moves to Baltimore. :)

How much do you know about your Cedar Point history?

Do you know how close it came to becoming the "Fort Lauderdale of the North" instead of the "Disneyland of the East"? Are you aware that the State of Ohio actually threatened to take the property by eminent domain to prevent it from being turned into expensive housing?

(instead of even more expensive hotel rooms... :) )

I agree that a GG coaster would be a nice addition to the CP line up. So what type of "streak" will it be?

Brown Streak maybe?

How about...

Streakhawk?

Thunderstreak?

Streakstreak?

Banshee? :)

Cedarstreak?

Milenium's Revenge?

Cyclone?

White Streak?

Hot Streak?

Winning Streak?

Big Bad Wolf? (So there WILL be a BBW running in the USA next year. :)

I think sometimes the lust for shiny roller coasters obscures the reality of what I think the park is obviously missing.

...sometimes?

They are obviously missing a traditional log flume. I would be more excited over a log flume than anything else. They said that they would build one after murdering White Water Landing. If they don't build a replacement now, will they ever?

What's with the so-called hints? They doesn''t make any sense. What does Aquarax have to do with GCI?

Nice thing about jokes is that you get to slide on facts and worry about laughs.

My Top 5: 5- Alpengeist 4-Superman: Ride of Steel 3-El Toro 2-Milleunnium Force 1-Nitro

I agree with the log flume, its been three years already without white water landing, and mill race bit the dust back in 1993. Both replaced by coasters of course.

I always kinda liked the area of where ccmr is at, just thinking about it now, that would be a pretty awesome area for a decently sized log flume. Especially since you have all of the other water rides in the area. However, the mine ride is a staple for transitioning kids to larger coasters so i dont see that happening. So, right now i think its a big tease, but that GCI post had me excited for once about them thinking about a wooden coaster.

The aquatrax is a long running joke. Every coaster that ever built gets the (now half jokingly) speculation that it's going to be an Aquatrax.

I agree with others that an large, extensive water ride built in this area could be frigging amazing, especially if parts really travel and feel isolated from the midway but the notion is so exciting I'd rather not get my hopes up.

Anybody here "enjoy the intamin setting of the park at sunset"?

Yes.

How about the "Phalic Trilogy" of the park of Corkscrew, TTD & Power Tower?

What?...Cedar Creek Mine Ride and a flume can't coexist together? I think having a log flume weave over and under CCMR is a perfect pairing.

The little triangle of trees on the island is the spot they've been clearing, I think. The boneyard across the canal from that is probably fair game too. CCMR is within spitting distance of all of that.

Where would you place the station? You've got the railroad tracks right up near the Fronteir Trail walkway by the boneyard, but that's a decent spot. The other side is sort of cut off by Camp Snoopy, CCMR. You might be able to route around Skyhawk. The old Skyway building is over there by the exit of CCMR, too---that's nothing but a couple of bathrooms right now.

On the Pointbuzz thread, someone reported a person taking detailed measurements of the old Skyway building, take that for what it is worth...

LOL...I have no idea. I haven't been to the park since 2001! Even looking at an (outdated) satellite view of the park I can't figure out where a station would go. Heck, I don't even know where the old skyway building is (for that matter, I didn't even know they had a second skyway!).

The old skyway building, which is a restroom on the first floor is located between Skyhawk and the CCMR station.

Its a small plot of land, no question, I personally cant see them fitting the queue and the station in that plot, however I could see them placing the beginning of the queue on the 2nd floor (no doubt they want to keep the bathrooms there) and from there bridging over the canal or if they are really taking out SRF utilizing that space and the 2nd floor of the skyway building for the queue and station (with a reconfiguration of Skyhawk's queue to allow the queue to pass between the two sites.)

Yeah...that means nothing to me. I don't remember many specifics about that area of the park. But thanks :)

if they are really taking out SRF

Somehow I missed this. If SRF goes out, then it's easy. That's where you put it. Tons of room, especially if you cannibalize skyhawk's queue (is that thing ever full?)

I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but why, oh why would they take out Snake River Falls just to replace a log flume that they removed three years ago? They need both kinds of water rides, as they are both the kind of water rides that one would expect at a large amusement park.

(Hypothetical rant follows) Then they'll promise to replace snake with another ride of its kind, and in 2012 they go and knock out Thunder Canyon to give us the Snake River replacement. then they promise to replace TC sometime, and in 2015 they destroy Mine Ride to build it. That way, no matter how many awesome rides they have, they will never have everything that all the other large amusement parks have. They will forever be incomplete.

UUGGHH!

Have you seen the lines (or lack there of) for SRF lately, even on hot days? Also its rusting quite a bit and leaks onto the train. Its ugly, and turns Frontier Town a traffic nightmare (imagine being able to walk to Skyhawk without first walking all the way around the Town Hall.) I really hope that ride is on the way out, give me a brand spanking new flume with a track that meanders along Mellienium Island anyday over SRF.
