Cedar Point announced this morning Wicked Twister, a 215-foot Intamin Impulse coaster that will reach 72 mph. This larger model will have twists in both spikes and go a full 450 degrees.
Meanwhile, the live entertainment portfolio will be expanded to include a new "Snoopy Rocks on Ice" show to cool of those hot summer days. The show will be performed in the "Good Time Theater," formerly known as the Cedar Point Cinema.

Personally, I still don't think the business decision is that great either. I think most people will see the similarities between SUE and WT(the name I'm completely NOT into) and people still like BKF, Villain, Big Dipper, and X-Flight, so I don't believe CP is really taking away that business. And as for new people coming, I don't believe this has anything over MF to change something like that. Overall, it looks like a filler ride if you ask me. But that's not a bad thing...

If you're disappointed, stay the hell home or wait twice as long for a similar ride at another park.
Jeff, I am willing to bet you a large sum of money that says WT typically will have the longest wait out of all the Impulses on Earth.
I've yet to wait more than about 25 - 30mins for SUE...45 for V2.

"That's BS you MF! They're WT!" -- CP's R&D team
All of the world's 5 (will be 6) impulses are a production model variant.
I guess I just don't get why so many people are upset saying things like "oh, it's a clone", or "everybody has one". Unless Six Flags dumps a few more into their parks next year, as of now, there are only FOUR impulse coasters in North America. It's not really that common of a ride yet for that to be said. I have no doubt this will be a success for CP, and as a fan of Superman Ultimate Escape, I am looking forward to the new twist on this cool ride.
ProgRay
The GP is not going to notice that SFWOA already has one. The GP is not going to not go to CP just because there is a slight chance that a park on the other side of Cleavland has something similar. Even if CP thought that enthusaists would not come to CP just because SFWOA didn't have one, they wouldn't care.
Here's another thing:
SFMM and Cedar Point have NOTHING, and i mean, NOTHING to do with eachother. Some of you people from SFMM just need to get the hell out of CP threads, and some of you from CP need to get your noses out of SFMM threads. There is no need for such animosity between 2 camps like this. Sersiously, go read a book or something instead of rehashing the same old tired arguments. I would say its like beating a dead horse, but the horse was already rotting in its grave 5 years ago. Lighten up, go look at coasters at rcdb, go play no limits, go do your homework. Life on internet message boards gets pretty tiresome after a while. Or at least it should.
On a sidenote, the backwards spike is going to be one of the best moments on a coaster, EVER. Just imagine nose diving straight down as the whole world rotates around you. That, my friends, is going to be freaky as all get out.

1. The GP is not going to notice that SFWOA already has one. I have to disagree with you on this one. A good many people who live in Northern Ohio have been to SFWoA and know the rides they have there, especially people in the Cleveland area, who also make up some of CP's largest crowds. When they see WT, they are going to see a bigger, improved version of S:UE, which is why Jeff's analogy about the ride being "two middle fingers sticking up at the competition" works.
2. The GP is not going to not go to CP just because there is a slight chance that a park on the other side of Cleavland has something similar. Now I agree with you completely on this one. As long as SFWoA has its bad reputation (among enthusiasts and GP alike), people are going to go to CP whatever they add. This ride isn't a big-time addition, but a good filler ride that balances CP's variety and balances crowd dispersement (it looks like the ride is a perfect fit for the space they put it in).

I think it will be a great addition, and add a lot of character to the park. I am surprised to see that the old dolphin stadium is still there. I thought that was coming down too. I hope that don't have another diving show this year. I am also sad to see the IMAX go, but I really like Snoopy, so welcome to the Big Show.
For my two cents: It is a friggin ride at a friggin amusement park. We aren't debating abortion, gun control, or welfare for crying out loud. Give it a break!
It is a nice ride, period. At just about any other park, including many of the Six Flags parks, it would blow the public away. At CP it will be amongst the land of the giants but that doesn't diminish the good ride it will be.
That part of the park was in desparate need of a "weenie" as Walt used to say. Crowds will spread out and the beach will once again become a signature of the Point. For the last decade, unless you sat in Oceana you might have forgotten what a beautiful beach it is.
In the spirit of the moment, be thankful for what you have and pass the gravy!
