Cedar Point announced this morning Wicked Twister, a 215-foot Intamin Impulse coaster that will reach 72 mph. This larger model will have twists in both spikes and go a full 450 degrees.
Meanwhile, the live entertainment portfolio will be expanded to include a new "Snoopy Rocks on Ice" show to cool of those hot summer days. The show will be performed in the "Good Time Theater," formerly known as the Cedar Point Cinema.

From GTTP, commenting on Cedar Point's claim that SFMM's Superman is not a coaster:
Guide to The Point, regrettably, takes the stance that Superman is indeed a roller coaster. To not make that consideration would mean discounting rides like Six Flags Ohio's Superman: Ultimate Escape and Speed: The Ride in Las Vegas.
Granted, that's not Cedar Point saying that (though I swear someone over there said something about "full curcuit"), but it certainly was taken that way by some enthusiasts.

I'm not real crazy about the name, nor the sudden silly justification of this being a coaster as opposed to S:TE just because one has a couple more launches, but it really rounds out the park's collection nicely. *** This post was edited by DWeaver on 11/20/2001. ***

So what is better? SFMM or CP? I don't care! They both have 29 coasters between them that they build so we can have a good time!
On the other hand, this ride to me is more impressive that S:TE or S:UE. Although it won't have the straight spike pause, the front and back seat riders will feel the twisting sensation. Awesome.

But it also worries me, 'cause doesn't that leave VF with CF's only IMAX theater? Why do I have the bad feeling that movie choices from here on out will really, really reek? The last 2-3 years have been great (or at least right-hearted), but prior to that, it was a good place to take a nap.

now if i only could have been allowed to validate it in the 2001 season...
300+ feet seems a bit tall and strenuous (sp?) for the track.. I am sure they could design is differently, but still.
I'll be looking forward to it next year :)
Lights go down in the theatre. Cue "Gin and Juice." Lights come up and snoop skates out in ghetto pimp style with his posse, throwing up gang signs and harrasing the kids in the fron row. What insues is an incredible journey through the wonderful world of South Central LA, sure to warm the hearts of every family, this season, only at Cedar Point
Ha ha...whatever!!
Now that the announcement is made the blasted speculation will end. Now if SFog would just hurry up!

The "ONLY" disappointment I feel here (and you can disaggree with me all you want) is how they could have built a second track to really boost capacity. This thing is going to have a 2-4 hour wait.
