Busch Gardens

good grief....a couple things in this thread that im dying to throw some fire into....

first off, i think the rumour about BBW, like i said before, is total bunk! there is no way that coaster is goin anywhere...

and in responce to JimFisher and SooperGir's comments...i, like few others on this site, got to ride DF both before AND after the 1994 reprofile that removed Corkscrew #1...and i loved that coaster. yeah, it was kinda rough at times, but wow, pullin off that midcourse, and diving into that corkscrew, then whipping out and up into that cut back.....i remember that ride like it was yesterday :)

of course, this is all coming from a guys whos top two coasters at his home park are #1 Anaconda, another "Toomer Torture Machine", and #2 Shockwave, a TOGO standup!! woohoo :)

Tim...PT300, where are you when i need you?!?! :)

...no offense Tim, but if you *like* Shockwave at PKD, I'm less inclined to trust your judgement...;)
Whats next??In a few years, will everyone be crying about Windjammer, and how it never should have been taken out??Now I have never had the pleasure(or displeasure) of riding it, but I have never seen anything other than "horrible" said about it. Similarly, if GRadv ever gets smart enough to take out Viper, I'm sure there will be some who cry about it, saying how "Unique" it was, and that it was a prototype, and how great it was. People, the reason it is a one of a kind, is because it sucks!!

I'm surprised at the rumors suggesting that Big Bad Wolf might be removed. When I visited the BGW in late July, Big Bad Wolf had the longest line in the park and Wilde Maus the second longest. Now, I imagine that the lines had more to do with capacity issues than actual popularity, but it would seem silly to remove something that popular. It's easily the best suspended coaster of I've experienced with cool theming and that killer drop over the river.

I'm glad they're planning on giving Loch Ness Monster some TLC (if the rumor is true). I hope they keep the yellow color. If not, a bright green might look good.

As for anything new, I imagine they'll hold out for something that's well themed, high capacity, and custom designed to fit whatever terrain they decide to use for it.

coasterfan4life, chill buddy. i was actually using Shockwave at PKD as a joke...i am one who tends to enjoy the rough coasters that so many dislike. i wasnt laying down fact....take a breath man, life is too short to get all feisty about little things ;)

rollergator...your probably right :)

Vacoasterfreak,

No offense, wasnt aiming that at you at all, sorry if it seemed that way. Was just stating possible future strains of that horrible condition, "DFS", lol. If you happen to like shockwave, then keep on riding it. In fact, I will be making my 1st visit to PKD next year, maybe you know some seats or techniques that will make my ride more enjoyable??When it comes to TOGO, I feel I need all the help I can get.

I liked Drachen Fire! The reason I'm mad is because I really really liked this coaster and they removed it without any announcement of improvements, or anything.

Actually, I believe Busch DID try to improve the ride experience by removing the second corkscrew (although it didn't seem to work) and I think (but I may be wrong about this one) that there was also some reprofiling at one point. I guess that the way they saw things, it was pointless to invest any more money in this ride because it was a lost cause and wasn't going to get any better.

And just because they aren't doing anything with the land at the moment doesn't mean that they aren't going to in the near future. If the ride was still there and SBNO, then it would just be wasted land.

So? Some people liked Shockwave at SFGAM.

You know what I would've liked to do to Drachen Fire?

I wish someone would've come by with a truck of dynamite and put at least 100 in each side of that torture device they called a Cobra Roll. Then I wish someone would've poured acid on the remaining parts and had thousands of people laugh at its demise.

So you have a bad attitude, a bad case of selfishness, and bad business skills.

I agree with Jim.

I know the same thing about Steel Phantom. I remember having an arguement with Vater, who thought it sould have stayed, but never rode it, but I had ridden it.

Point taken, but considering that Drachen Fire is one of my favorite steel loopers, I'm betting that I probably would've liked Steel Phantom at least to some extent. As for thinking it should have stayed, I guess that's just the part of me that can't stand when any coaster is removed (or in this case, reprofiled), no matter how old, rough, painful, or insignificant.

Unique first drop but after that it pretty much went downhill. Out with the old and in with the new is what i say (in terms of steel.).

B&M doesn't build near water. When they got to Virginia and saw the James River, they backed out of the project.

I think now I'll go piss and moan that the Crystal Beach Cylone is gone. I mean, Hell, it looked fun, and nobody told *me* they were taking it down. The wood is still around, so I demand they rebuild it. Now.

B&M does build near water; many of their coasters such as Top Gun or The Hulk go over water. I don't think they build over swampy land though, if that's what you mean.

I just read that comment S00pGir you made a good couple weeks ago. And look what I'm going to do! Nothing! Ya know why? Because you're free to state your creative opinion about Drachen Fire whichever way you please, and how ever creative you want!

That Shockwave comment wasn't said to intentionally harm anyone and it certainly didn't mean to affect anyone, just my opinion about the coaster. People just let it affect them and make a big deal because they want to prove they're more mature.

Now, if only some people here could realize something called respect and not take things personally, especially when it doesn't concern them, and especially when it's on a freaken website, the world would be peachy.

I just realized something S00pGir, we're both young teenagers. No wonder we argue about such dumb crap.

I was at BGT on Friday and there wasn't much work on the exterior of the Dolphin Theatre just some holes in the wall and a the fences were up, which have been there a while.
