In my own opion I don't like it at all! It's a boring ride, but then again it's a nice coaster for the "Family";)

What What WHAT??? Remove Big Bad Wolf after 2003? This is total crap. Suppose this world really is run by idiots and BGW is taking out the Big Bad Wolf, by far and away the posterchild of Suspended Coasters, and by far THE BEST suspended coaster IN THE WORLD.....well, I might as well just quit my job and take a new position in Amish country making windmills or cheese for a living. All this after the whole DF thing is just too much. Now is the time to kill this malicious rumor before we end up with another Drachen Fire saga on our hands.
As for "making room for a new coaster," well, that's a bunch of crap, too. Any idiot can see that there's plenty of room to be had at this park. Take out BBW, yeah, right.
Yeah, well you see, BGW is secretly conspiring to remove the coasters that will make you angry. Their goal is to make you MAD. Yeeeeep, they removed Drachen Fire TOTALLY to make you mad. Also, Six Flags broke X and Deja Vu to make you mad. All amusement parks want to make you mad.

What I meant was, it makes no sense that they removed DF, and it would make even less sense if they removed BBW. I realize they weren't trying to piss us off by removing DF, but it would help if they gave out some kind of explanation rather than just slowly demolish their park.

Are you sure you don't want to put dynamite and acid on it?

From a business standpoint, it probably did make sense to remove Drachen Fire. From what I understand, it had extremely low ridership in it's waning years. Being that rollercoasters are expensive to maintain, it would make sense to remove a ride that was running one train and sending that one out only half full in it's final year. As far as BBW, when I was there in September I waited about 35 minutes and the ride was running 2 trains. It seems to be quite a popular ride (still) and it is one of the best suspended coasters out there. While I don't think it would make sense to remove BBW (although I'm sure there are plenty of people who know things that I don't), and while I wish Busch had kept DF, from a business standpoint they probably did the right thing in removing it.

Okay, since you are obviously one of the "spark an argument buzzers" here, let me explain this to you for just about the 100th time. You would rather think up half-bad comebacks or asskiss Jeff than post anything intelligent.
IMO, Shockwave was a torture device, not a rollercoaster. From that post (which was like 3 weeks ago), I stated my opinion of that coaster. In this post, I was giving my two cents about BGW and the way they're treating their rides. I did not say anything bad about their rides. I was saying I didn't understand why BG was wanting to get rid of their rides. NO Correlation.
So you have a bad attitude, a bad correlation, and a bad insult. Next time, post something that is more intelligent and maybe I'll take you seriously.

The land where DF was is unstable, which might have played a roll in it's demise who knows. A supervisor also said nothing will go back there again unless it has really really deep footers. I think that area will used for the Black Forest picnic area.
Oh and about The Wolf. It is Rumored that BGW is or was considering removing it after 03 or 04. Well it isn't going to be removed. The Wolf is on of the worlds greatest suspended coasters and A trademark coaster at BGW. On top of that some people (mostly enthusiast) are already mad because of the removal of DF. BBW Riddership has gone down due to roughness I'd say because of the amount of complaints I have had about it from the GP and I hear it is costly to run.
BGW has tons of land. So I don't see them removing a great coaster to make room for another one not unless the want to make The Wolf bigger and badder.

/me smacks forehead
The ride has been gone for months now and the urban legends persist. Why is it so hard to believe that people hated this ride?

Thank you, CoasterFANatic87.
The DF land was unstable, was it? I guess it lies along the same fault line as Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point. It's sinking into the lake, you know.
Also, I would like to know what's going on with the Busch Gardens Williamsburg Timeline, a project that was started with much fanfare last august/early winter. I haven't seen anything new on the site. This was the absolute best website devoted to BGW, with a format that was interactive and very easy to follow. I for one would really like to see what's new on the website. They had a video section with Ron Toomer which detailed the opening of Drachen Fire - it was an excellent piece of work. Anyone have any info about the site? Just curious.
Not trying to start anything but people hated the ride for a reason or many reasons. Like I said the land in that section is unstable so because of the land shifting it moved the footers from where they were ment to be putting stress on the track by pulling it and pushing it in different directions which could have played a roll in it being so rough or not. I don't make the news I just post it. But anyway as of now BGW doesn't have any plans for that area that I know of as of oct 30th because of the land.

I posted that info a while back. So u got it here at coasterbuzz.
Justin said he would be updating the Timeline really soon and he said that he would finish the DF Ride Guide some day. http://www.smart.net/~jworsley/timeline/

Dude... you're full of crap. Total crap. Engineers are really clever people and have built skyscrapers in swamps of Florida. They can certainly handle a stupid roller coaster.
Please don't make stuff up... you sound like a kid who needs attention.
