Thank God you know more about business then everyone at Busch! They should hire you as a consultant!

And seriously dude, you should lose the midol comment because:

1. It isn't funny, clever, or witty and

2. We have very few females on the board as it is. Maybe you just have a problem with women in general or something, but the rest of us really enjoy them on this board, and would rather you not alienate them. :)

If the shoe fits, find another one.

RavenGuy, Man, Dude - Seriously:

1. I was not telling Busch consultants how to run their park. I was simply stating my thoughts, which don't concern you.

2. By defending females, it doesn't make you any more likeabale.

3. Piss off.

Heh, you say it didn't make any sense that they removed DF, and yet...obviously it did make sense to the people who run the park. Sorry, maybe its just me, but those people probably knew more about the situation than you did. And your talking like they've already removed BBW, which, clearly, they haven't. DF is gone, let it go.

Maybe your thoughts don't concern me, but then again, maybe its a message board and if you didn't want someone to disagree with them, you shouldn't have posted them. :)

Oh, silly me! That makes it God's Word!

It's crap. Tell your supervisors I said so.

I am glad they removed DF. It had a serious bee problem each and every time I was at the park.

I don't know what sense it would make to remove BBW. Now I didn't really like it that much, but obviously others feel it is a great ride, and many have said lines are still consistently long for it. Why would BGW remove a ride that is still bringing in guests?

To anyone who says it makes no sense that they removed DF, can someone explain why DF is considered such a "Great" ride? I admit the layout "looked" great, but actually riding was a whole different thing. I took two rides(which were both walkons). First ride, got some severe headbanging, and a horrible ride. Second ride, tried again in another seat, and got another dose. Ended up with a bad headache, left the park, went to the hotel to sleep for a few hours, then returned and enjoyed the rest of the park. Now I know everyone is entitled an opinion, I just don't get how so many others love the ride, while I despised it. Did I just have a few bad rides or something??

Anyways, I doubt BBW is going anywhere, nor is Magnum sinking, LOL. What's next, are experts predicting a tidal wave is going to knock down MF, so it will be removed in the off season??

Isn't it amazing how the people who are nostalgic for Drachen Fire are almost all people who never rode it? Those of us who suffered throught the painful experience are not concerned about its departure.

I agree with Jim.

I know the same thing about Steel Phantom. I remember having an arguement with Vater, who thought it sould have stayed, but never rode it, but I had ridden it.

RollerJunkie, by not liking people who defend females, I would assume you do that in real life, too. That's why you don't have a girl.

I don't recall pain with Drachen Fire but I do remember those bees. It couldn't have been too bad. I rode it multiple times.

I remember the Steel Phantom backlash, and I was like, "So what?" That thing gave me nothing but headaches and I hated it. Needless to say, the quasi-replacement is outstanding.

those defending DF and yet haven't rode it are coming from a sense of "Now that its gone, i'll never know", and i can't totally blame them, i never rode it either(and i like rough arrows), but by getting rid of it, BGW has the ability to build a coaster that could be a thousand times better. it's like Shockwave @ SFGA, which i did ride. yea, it was rough, even though I liked it, but they are putting something pretty cool there, and i'm hearing (hopefully) Strong rumors that Shockwave will come 2 SFA, which is i guess my home park since it's only 2 hrs away, so i'm happy. but honestly, theme parks(and this has been stated houndreds of times) are out 2 make MONEY, not friends, and the removal of DF was probably in the long run a good buisness venture.

I have never been on Drachen Fire. I went right after they closed it. It looks like it would be an awesome coaster. I would have liked for it to stay so I could get a chance to ride it even though I haven't heard much good about it. I even wanted shockwave to stay. I just don't like when coasters get torn down, even the bad ones.

I wonder what the ride would be like if it was built by B&M, because even if you hated the ride, you have to admit it was unique.

Now Reopened With A New Layout!!!

Again I will bring up what I like to call the "Drachen Fire Syndrome" (DFS): Rides that, since they are gone, are "legends" to the "enthusiasts". However, had they remained, these same coasters would draw nothing but whines and complaints from those same "enthusiasts" because "they are too rough... too painful... should be torn down and replaced with something new."

Three well known cases of DFS: Drachen Fire (the name sake of the sndrome), Crystal Beach Cyclone, Steel Phantom (only because PR is considered such a great ride has the DFS cleared from the memory of the old SP... but when the word came that SP was coming down, an acute case of DFS flared up).

-----------------
Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

I had a tear in my eye as I walked down Steel Phantoms exit ramp durring it's last year. I was sad to see it go, but at the same time I was a little happy, because I could only ride the thing a few times per visit. It needed to go.

BigBadWolf, on the other hand, is not going anywhere. I call it a "False Rumor". People who have been following the Amusement Industry can see that it is just a silly rumor someone started to get attention. It doesn't make sence to close and dismantle such a classic ride.

I am very excited to see what they do to Nessie. Are we certain that Nessie is the coaster that will get the facelift? I hope so.

...Oh-and RollerJunkie, Stop acting like a jerk. The world has too much assholeishness as it is. Peace, love, and goodwill, friend.

Please God, help me to spell words correctly, so that I don't get insulted by people who are perfect and wiser than myself. Amen

Drachen Fire was not all that and a bag of chips. Other than a unique layout [for Arrow, at least] the ride experience left a lot to be desired.

I don't miss it.

I remeber going to BGW when I was 5, and I would always just stare at DF, because it was so big, and I loved the colors. Unfortunatly, I was too short to ride. But I went back when I was 9 or 10, and when I rode it, it was just awesome, especially the first drop. I actually didn't get head banged to much. Although I was sad to DF go, I got over it. They still have 4 other great coasters, 2 of which I can't wait to tide next summer :)

-----------------
Best inverts:

1. Talon
2. Volcano - The Blast Coaster
3. Raptor

Drachen Fire was certainly the worst Arrow head banger that I have ridden. It was matched only by the worst of the Premiers before the conversions.

I thought that Steel Phantom wasn't that bad a coaster though it was a disappointment compared to it's hype. However, it's hard to feel sorry about it's departure when it's conversion to Phantom's Revenge resulted in a great hyper, far better than the original Phantom.

I liked Drachen Fire! One of my top favs. at BGW. Raven - The reason I'm mad is because I really really liked this coaster and they removed it without any announcement of improvements, or anything. It's like they just took this coaster out for no reason! I mean, they might as well keep it there if they aren't doing anything with the space.

And S00perGIR - Wow! I wish I could be just like you! I bet you could have any guy you want. That's some great advice you've given about me and my life! That just about solves every problem I've ever had! You could quite possibly be the greatest sex therapist in the WORLD! Without your great mind to figure out my problems, I don't know where I'd be!

Next time, let's not worry about other people's lives, lame-ass insults and "girl power", and try to focus on what I'm actually trying to say about ROLLER COASTERS.

That's probably the first time that I'm not QUITE as unhappy about not getting to ride DF...I did get to see it SBNO, but never rode it...:(. Thanks Jim, for easing the pain somewhat....
