BooBuzz 2009: September 19

We had close to a hundred people last year, but as is often the case, people drop out when they can't do the marathon thing anymore. Same thing happens at Fall Affair, and you end up getting to own your seat.

Taking a closer look at the schedule, ERT ends on Maverick at 11 AM but the park does not open until noon. What happens during the 11 AM - Noon? This is my first time attending BooBuzz, just trying to figure out how to plan our first time to Cedar Point.

Resort ERT, on Maverick, MF, Raptor, Iron Dragon and Planet Spooky.

So is there special IDs they check for at the entrance to the rides or if your in the park like we will be or are we all good to enjoy that list of coasters your have given? Also if we can use the resort ERT, would the longest line during normal operating conditions be for MF? I am thinking that would be our best bet to head to at 11. Does that sound right? I think we will get enough rides on Maverick during the Coasterbuzz ERT.

Ya think, 1 hour straight on any coaster will tax the most ardent of coaster fans.

In the morning they do not check for resort or gold/platinum passes at the rides. I would assume that as soon as your in the park, when the boo buzz ERT is done, that you would be able to do the other ERT for the next hour. And yes, heading to MF would be the next busiest after Maverick. Then at noon be in line for TTD.

You effectively become a resort guest from 11 to noon.

Well, this was the weekend we picked for Halloweekends this year, so it looks like we are attending our first Buzz event.

How will this Pointfest affect attendance? Has anyone been to the one at KI? This is the first that I have heard of such a thing so I have no idea how many people this attracts.

This has typically been a 100 or so people event. In other words, it has no effect.

Sorry Jeff I should have been more specific. I was talking about the Pointfest music festival that is on the same day. I've heard it created quite a crowd at KI but that seemed pretty vague to me. I plan on attending Boobuzz no matter what but if the park is going to be ridiculous I might just come alone and do my own thing for the ERT and tour.

Its the first year that is happening, but Im sure it means an increase in attendance.

Ok.. So I managed to sell of my VT Football Tickets that ran on the same day as BooBuzz so I can attend. Now booking plane tix.

Does anyone know of any room deals going on around the park? Is there a room deal in conjunction with BooBuzz event?

Jeff's avatar

I can ask about that, but probably not. They might be soft on booking this year, but I doubt they'll have issues around the time of the event. Those can be some pretty big weekends.

Cool.. Thanks Jeff. My goal is to break even with my ticket sale :)

Saw the BooBuzz itinerary. Very nice line up and gives lots of free time to hit the rides as well.

Looking forward to getting a couple rides in on Maverick and being in the park during the resort guest ERT.

I actually feel good about selling my VT football tix for this event now ;)

I'm still debating whether to come to BooBuzz this year. It's a great event. My problem is that I want to stay for both the ERT and the haunts, which makes for a really long day. I know that the easiest fix is to just get a hotel room, but I have trouble justifying spending extra money when it's likely the park will be mega-crowded. Ugh.

Anyone else driving from 3+ hours away?

You know you have another option, provided you can get there/take time off. Go to Sandusky Friday night, do the haunts then, then wake up for ERT and leave when you tire of the crowds on Saturday.

Jeff's avatar

Yeah, that's what I'd do too. Friday nights are so much fun and there are not typically really long lines for rides. The haunts vary, but they've been good about changing the way they meter people in during crowded times.

Only 14 days and counting until BooBuzz 2009. It seems hard to believe the Halloween festivals are going to be ramping up here soon. Who would have thought Halloween, which is the last day of October, could be spilling over into half of September. I guess parks go with what will drive attendance.

Anyways, did anything become of the Print at Home for the tickets option before arriving?

I might be flying in from about 3 (flying) hours away... ;)
