Bounce. Any updates on BooBuzz for this year? Another year of non-stop Maverick rides? Or maybe switch back to MF for a year?

It will probably be Maverick... but I'm still waiting to hear from the park on nailing down specifics.

I know your answer above will apply to my question as well but I am going to ask/request anyways :)

Is the ERT going to be morning or evening or both?

If there is a choice, I would prefer evening. I work Saturdays so would either have to skip it, close the shop or get someone to cover the shop. With an evening ERT, I can make it up to the point by 6:30 PM.

I can't wait for BOObuzz this is going to be my first trip to Cedar Point!! I am excited. Hopefully I will be able to get on all the rides during the day. The ERT should surely help.

ERT is going to be in the morning. Remember, this is the time of year with late closings, which put even the general public in line as late as 1 a.m. for the big rides on the busier days.

hmmm.. I may have to try this event out.. Time to check out the flight info from my area..

Well this one is a no go Ill be in South Bend that Saturday, thankfully the next Saturday Notre Dame is away :).

ahhh crap.. Tech is a home game.. Hmmm..

Internal Conflict begins..

^Always a problem with fall coaster events. A small price to pay for Sept-Oct having some of the best weekends of the year whither they are at a game or at a park (odds are extremely high I'm away from home for at least one day every weekend from Labor Day through Halloween.)

Edit-I realize this will be an unpopular view back here but ask yourself, how many days do you go to a park, and then how many home games V Tech has every year. Go to the one that has a smaller number.

You poor heteros...having to juggle sports and coasters. The only thing keeping me from attending is finances. I'd attend even if the newest Martha Stewart TV special aired or Madonna had a concert in Los Angeles, lol!

Im not looking for pity, as I said Early Fall Weekends are some of the best days of the year for me.

Also, football games would not be nearly as fun if a large contingent of my college friends (who live all across the country) wouldn't be there living life up for 5-6 hours before game time and then an 1-2 hours afterwards at a tailgate.

ahhh the tailgate.. where lots of RVs come, portable hot tubs are set up (its cold in the burg late in the season), and 40" flat screens posted around vehicles for Wii and PS3 games.

Course last year I was everyone's friend with my seemingly endless supply of beer I was able to bring thanks to my loving and during football season widowed wife. Now my stock is slowly dwindling.

Now if I choose the formula of all the parks I go to in a year vs Tech games, then Tech wins as the lower #. If I factor just CP in a year vs VT games.. CP wins. If I factor in the amount I already paid for a year of season tickets.. VT wins.. :)

Though I would like to do the buzz as I have heard a lot about it, but I would be going solo up there as my wife is unable to attend due to her job ramping up Halloween festivities.

If I can only attend one event each year, Boobuzz is the one I choose. It's always a blast.

And ridemcoaster, I went solo last year and the year before, and will likely be solo again this year. My hubby works on weekends. Going solo has never stopped me.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

ridemcoaster's avatar

Yeah, im not as concerned about the solo part as I am the $3k+ I spent on football season tickets :)

^Good god, that better have not been for just one ticket.

DaveStroem's avatar

Ken, I could see spending that on Ohio State tickets but Tech???? :)

Who are they playing that weekend anyways. For us, it is Toledo and is being played in Cleveland for some reason. I don't care much if I miss this game, but we will also be missing the Illinois game the following weekend when we are at Disney.

[url][url]When you add up my "required donation," ticket cost, travel cost (day trips,) and food cost I end up spending less then half of that on the whole season for my tickets. Thats almost NFL pricing ridmcoaster.

Its a whole football season, but it also includes a sublease I have out there for the season.. (We Tech folks dont tailgate for just one day :) ) , the alumni donation, the season tickets..

I also have a couple of seats down low pretty much on the 50.

I think it depends on the school too and the division they belong in. Not every school has the same ticket level pricing.

If you took where i sat and placed it similar to NFL, it certainly wouldnt be 3K.

(glares at Dave for that joke!)

We play Nebraska in the 'Burg. They typically give a good game.

btw we took ACC and WON our Bowl game last year Dave ;)

I most defiantly miss part of the experience by not being there most Fridays but I cant really afford it right now, so I just show up really early Saturday and leave as late as possible that night.

And at least my school doesnt debase itself by playing games on a Thursday night ;). Saturday games, national coverage every week, etc.

Glad you get a campsite for that price.

ridemcoaster's avatar

Ouch.. You dug on our thursday night thing!! The Coverage was good on NDs losing season ;)

Anyways, I dont want to turn CB in to a sports thread.. We are already boring Moosh (and possibly others).

I hope to make it to Boobuzz though.. you will know who I am by the Orange and Maroon on :)
