BooBuzz 2007 at Cedar Point

I forgot to mention that at 11 P.M. we took the bus back to Sandcastle and noticed that they were parking cars along the road to the resorts in the grass along the rides. Has anyone seen this before. I wished I could have taken a picture of the lot as it was beyond full...

Hey Gonch, my wife was the one who brought those Superman cupcakes that we enjoyed in the parking lot. :)

Be in the right place at the right time and you score cupcakes. Only at Boobuzz. :)

OT - Just out of curiousity how do you guys get those embedded URL links to work, the ones with "click here for my link" and you don't see the URL? I can not for life of me get those to work. Thanks.

Go to "Your Account" and scroll down to the bottom. Make sure the "Always Use Plain Text Box" option is unchecked.

Now you should have a toolbar along the top of your reply box when you reply in a thread. The next-to-last icon (the world with a chain link) is the link button. Highlight the text you want to be a link and click that button. Enter the URL into the box that pops up and click ok.

You now have a neat link. :)

Thanks for the reply Gonch. The cupcakes were the least we could do for somebody that was denied his cheese-on-a-stick.

Yeah I do have the cool icony toolbar and have used the link button, but that only puts a link of the website in my post. I can do that myself by just typing it.

What I am asking about is how you put a link in your post without showing the link location and displaying the alternate text as your click link - Like you did with your photo when you said "check THIS out" and 'THIS' was your link. I can do it on other forums without any trouble, but I can't get it to work here for some reason. The neat link button popup thingy does not do that.

Make sure you highlight the text in your post that you want to be the link before you click the link button. That's all I'm doing.

Beyond that and I'm not sure what the deal is. Maybe Jeff will drop in and offer something I can't?

Nope, what you said. Or if you are in a plain text box, you use [ url="myURL" ]text to link[ /url ] only without the spaces inside the brackets.

Strange I know I tried that but it didn't work ... of course that could've been operator error too ;) - I might've had an extra space in there somewhere. Thanks for the tips.

Back on topic ... I actually got to go into Magical House on Boo Hill or whatever its called for my first time because the group I was with had their 2 little ones with them. It was pretty neat and while I was assuming - I just had to ask for sure if someone knew ... Is the mirror maze and the upside-down room props immediately right after the maze from the upside-down funhouse? Sure seemed like it to me and I thought that was pretty cool.

As much as I would have loved to hang with the Buzzers at this year's BooBuzz, I learned my lesson last year. The great and wonderful morning ERT session nothwithstanding, the same phenom unfolded last year--a park so crowded and insanely full of people that you couldn't even walk without running into people.

For someone who likes to go to parks when they are relatively devoid of the human population, I was ready for a straight jacket by 4 pm that day!!!!

Was this the same Saturday as last year's BooBuzz? What about the possibility of holding the event on a different Saturday in October, or all they all that incredibly busy???

You get 70,000 people in a confined space and two hour waits for CORKSCREW and DISASTER TRANSPORT and you've elminated any possibility of "fun" whatsoever.

In fact, you've entered a whole new dimension of the amusement park zone at that point!!!

"Welcome to Hell Hole. . ."

Glad everybody survived!!!!

I think the main contributing factor to the large crowd size was the fact that it was late October and it was 75 degrees outside. People are like WOW! It's flipping beautiful outside, let's go to Cedar Point!!! I've been to Halloweekends four years straight and have never had a day as warm as the one I had on Sunday. It's always been a nice day, but usually jacket weather by the time we leave. Not this year. I had shorts and a t-shirt from start to finish. Weather like that is almost unheard of up here this time of year! Just for the record, the Sunday crowd did NOT fill up the main lot. Every flat spinner that we rode (Troika, Scrambler, Calypso, Super Himalaya, Monster, Tilt-A-Whirl) was a walk-ons, All 3 car rides had about a 5-6 minute wait. DT and ID were 10 minute waits. The only substantial lines I saw all day were for Raptor, TTD and of course Maverick. That one looked to be close to two hours but I have no idea for sure, just that the line spilled out about 60 feet outside the queue. The worst wait was for Woodstock Express. This was close to 1/2 an hour, partly due to Mr. Moron popping open his cell phone on the lift and a 10 minute wait for a restart followed by Mr. My Son Dropped His Hat and you will SHUT THE RIDE DOWN AND GET IT NOW. No security arrived in either case but calls were made. Magnum was 15 minutes. By the time we left my daughter wanted one last ride on Iron Dragon. She missed CP's 48" measurement by a millimeter, so we had to settle for ID and DT. At 7:30PM we walked right into the station. Waited an extra 5 minutes for the front row. While riding I noted Mantis' station had 3 people waiting.

Something as simple as holding the event on Sunday could work too. The only problem there is if people are going for the halloween stuff, there's not as much of it on Sunday.

Although, any day I go to CP during Halloweekends, I assume it will be crouded and plan to do other things. Like seeing the shows. But, you even have to make sure and get to those early as well. I go to the park often enough that days like those don't bother me too much. I guess I'm spoiled. :)

LdScotsman you are right. The crowd was so much better on Sunday, and the weather was perfect. There were plenty of coasters and rides without long waits. If we wouldn't have had such a long drive home we would have stayed until the park closed.
First, I’d like to say that I Boo Buzz was a lot of fun. It was great to be able to meet a few more people. I got 8 rides on Maverick during ERT. After waiting all summer to ride it, I’ll say that it is a good ride, but not my favorite. Going to the costume shop was fun too. I left shortly after the costume shop tour due to some Maverick induced indigestion.

Travel issues are what always force me to do these things on Saturday. I did a Sunday event a couple of years ago and the attendance was terrible.

This year at least I think the freakishly warm temperatures have made that place a zoo. It's a crap shoot from year to year. I've been there on dead Saturdays, 45 degrees and raining in an empty park. Then some years, you have what we had.

Travel issues. You mean everyone doesn't live an hour from the park. How do they survive. ;)

We always stay until midnight. We left the park at 8pm because we were tired of getting trampled. We walked through fright zone. It was misarable. There were so many people that the screamsters never got us once! I am hoping this attendance boost will certainly help pad the 4th qtr! Good time to buy FUN

I decided to do some video of the costume shop and while recording my battery died... I guess it just wan't my day. I'd sugest turning the sound off, for some reason my camera was making a clicking noise that's irritating. And there's not much to hear anyway.

Jeff, what about boo buzz earlier in the season like the 2nd week of Hallowweekends, I went in early Sept of 05 and the crowds were no where near the size this year? Just a suggestion...

Early September was probably Bonus Weekends, rather than Halloweekends - two different animals, to say the least. Add in the fact that the Fall crowds are very weather-dependent, and as such there's probably no use in trying to schedule the event for a non-busy day.

Plus, it's much nicer in the park the deeper you get into Fall. :)

^ no, they start Halloweekends in Sept. Maybe it was later Sept but all the haunted houses were running and we really enjoyed the haunt zones due to the lesser attendance...
