B&M parts at SFOG!

Gio declared bankruptcy recently, is is true that doesn't mean they were totally out of the business but they did say, pretty sure, no more designing for them...if so, really glad I got Goliath, can't wait for TX trip...LOVED Goliath, my second fav hyper to S:RoS...(sorry, B&M fans).  B&M, if I remember correct, does have a place in OH where parts are manufactured or machined or some such...I never BELIEVED it was Intamin, but I WILL continue hoping for one...also fairly likely IOA/BGT will stick with their "tried and true" B&M machines.

Just so you know, for all of B&M's european rides, the track is manufactured in the plant owned by Giovanola - indeed the two companies used to work together on Intamin coasters.

B&M Consulting Engineers B.V. also makes use of a facility in the US because it makes no finacial sense to ship track from Europe to the US on so many occasions.  The track for these US coasters is made in the US facility.

If you want some proof of the B&M track, take a look at a thread on CoasterForums.com and you'll find a comparision between the air steelwork and the superman steelwork.  They are obviously the same and the supports are also the same type.  The B&M Flyer is a good bet - I emailed John Wardley (designer of air) not so long ago and he said he knew nothing of an exclusivity contract and nothing of any further flying coasters (or Aerial Inversion Rides as he said).  I fail to see why if Six Flags have the chance to get one of these in for a smaller park, why wouldn't they, especially when Six Flags Over Georgia already had a B&M Stand-Up and a B&M Inverted.

B & M get their track for their U.S coasters manufactured in Utah. Giovanola has the reputaion for making the best steel in the world.
No B&M track is made just outside of Cincinnati, in Batavia or another suburb I beleive.  Rideman knows the name of the company that does it, and those pics of the SFNE track pieces were from the neighbor of a Cincinnati truck driver who was delivering the track from the factory in Cincinnati to SFNE.  The trucker also said he has to deliver to La Ronde, and SFOG which we now know to be true.  Cincy is starting to become a coaster mecca, along with Utah and Switzerland.

BTW, sorry about injuring your best players, a win without injury was all I really wanted...

Ggggguh!  No joke.  Thanks for being a gracious winner unlike your boy Grossman.  But he IS the best QB I've seen this year.  Too bad you guys don't schedule Miami, you'd toss them around.  Just stick it to the Noles for me, will ya?  I'll see what we can do with those nasty ol' Tigers.  But seeing how this is a coaster board, better say something..  I think we need a custom hyper.. and um.. RHTS.

Toss around Miami? How did the Sugar Bowl go last year? Miami plays Florida next year. Grossman does kick ***, but you can't afford any slip-ups. Fortunately for Dorsey, his defense bailed him out last week.
'Canes are smelling Rosey!

Unfortunately for Rexxie and the "head ball coach", probably won't get a shot at Miami or Nebraska/OK this year...can't afford the kind of slip-ups like we had at AU!  But, if I recall correctly, our ONLY title (SEC titles don't count) came in eerily similar circumstances...and the teams above us DID fall...pulling HARD for the Huskies to take the Canes, and somehow a miracle needs to come out of the Big-12....

But I am still a *little* disappointed in the B&M flyer...and I can't believe I haven't already been ripped for that notion!  But really, what improvements can B&M make to the Vekoma flyers.  And WHY won't a Southern Park give us what we SO desperately need - An Intamin AIRTIME machine...not that B&Ms aren't great and all...but they ARE too smooth for me...after enormous amunts of "research"!

rollergator --

I am in complete agreement with you.  If one company can make the best Flying coaster, it's obviously B&M.  However, just being on my back, staring at the sky, is so random, and not really all that thrilling on a coaster, IMO.

There isn't really any reference to see how fast you're travelling, which is one major beef I have with the Dutchmen.

Now, if you tell me SFoG's Superman will have almost ALL track in the "flying" position, then I'll be extremely excited.  Diving in and out of trenches, doing overbanked turns (but never inverting) and many changes of direction would be the best thing on an Aerial Inversion Ride, I'd think.  Time spent on your back loses a lot of thrill after a couple rides.

Also, thank you Dan the Coaster Fan for telling us your email with John Wardley, and how he even said there was no exclusivity contract.  Just goes to show that you shouldn't always believe everything you read on the Internet.  :)

(Sure hope SOMEONE builds a B&M or Intamin hyper down south someday!  I would be happier than...well, I'd be darn happy!)

Miami was so lucky thsat they survived that the game against BC. Bc just had awful misfortune, especially on Miami's fluke interception returned for a touchdown. Never expected that to happen, but BC just did not have any luck going their way. Also, with Green suspended for the game, the running game was definitely hampered. Could of been a completely different game if Green was playing. A win against Miami might have secured the citrus bowl or another quality bowl for the Eagles. Now we are probably going to have to win the final three games, to get to a quality bowl game.

Anways, a hyper is desperately needed in the south, so many good parks yet no hypers. So this is a good addition, that will help to attract the GP to SFoG.

-----------------

Of course I have never ridden a B&M flyer. But I just have a feeling that it will not compare to an Intamin hyper in the thrill department. I really don't want a flyer. But on the other hand, if it turns out to be a flyer, SFOG will receive alot of attention that it deserves. But at the same time I think an Intamin hyper would get just as much attention. People in the south need to understand what it feels like to experience the massive airtime that an Intamin coaster provides.
Betting on Intamin.
-----------------
Why would you be betting on an Intamin for this blue and red coaster?  Didn't I just post the guy who took those pics said the pieces were "made for B&M?"

What's with all the denial?  Or do people just not take the time to read things?

Hey GatorWoodie...  how did our little friendly SEC rivalry get morphed into a conversation about the Big Weak?  I mean Big East?
I'm totally for the idea of a non inverting flyer, with maybe a large corkscrew and dive loop and immelman..  perhaps a rounded heartline.  They can invert flyers without killing the riders (G-force wise), but they have to engineer a little better.  Unless we can get a flyer that way, bring on a hyper.

Well Legendary, it seems people are so enriched with Superman:RoS (Then again, who isnt), that they become oblivious to anything/everything else, but Intamin.:)

Dayuum, Your HOT!

Legendary: No one knows for sure, for Christ's sake! I could declare that I know what SFEG is getting for 2002: a Teracoaster. I won't take this seriously until an announcement comes.

<< coasterjedi >> while Intamin does use large, round supports, they have only used them on the Impulses.  on their other coasters the only round supports that they use look smaller than the ones in the pics.  what's so wrong with a B&M hyper anyway?  they're great rides.  can't be beat.

You forgot Expedition Ge Force. Look at EGF's lift hill.

Guys! Calm down, lol. We know there'll be a coaster next year, be happy. Don't fight on what it is. I'm betting on an Intamin, that's all. I could be right or wrong.

Let's just wait! Be patient!

Its Got to be an impulse. What else would SF put at a park they're trying to "rev up"? It all makes sense.

SFMW - was very small, had lousy coasters. In 2000, they jump start it with Medusa, then keep it going in 2001 with V2.

SFWOA - Jump start it with the huge expansion (S:UE, BKF, etc.), and keep it going with X-Flight.

Sfgam wasnt boring at all, but I guess 2 years after RB they needed some new coasters. Also, they got  a Deja Vu, the same as SFOG.

SFOG - Jump start it with Acrophobia&Deja, KEEP IT GOING WITH AN (WHAT DO YA KNOW) IMPULSE!

Umm, wasn't that the year Florida played Florida St twice? Once in Tallahassee where everything went WRONG for the gators and then in the sugar when dem 'Gaters got it together (Danny Wurefull QB)?

Anyway, FL controls their own destiny. If they win out, they WILL be Nat'l champs. Miami's ONE quality win was over an extremely un-Bowden-like weak 'Noles team. Florida plays one of, if not THE hardest schedule, especially with the prospect of the next three games 'Noles, Vols, Auburn (SEC Champoinship). They run that table and IMO are entitled to play for the nat'l championship, even IF Miami is undefeated!

Some of us have journeyed to CP and PKI to ride coasters... I used to live in NYC, a lot closer to parks with good thrills, but the south really does need a hyper.

Cheer, cheer for 'ol Notre Dame...... :) Is it 1988 yet?
