B&M parts at SFOG!

Its a B&M flyer. I'm so sure its not even funny. Don't you hate it when you have info on a new ride but you can't tell anybody yet because its still a "secret" supposedly?

Mind Bender

Okay people, SFoG's coaster obviously has Intamin supports (don't argue with me, it's obvious), the supports look like they are for an Intamin impulse coaster, yet the land clearing is way too large for an impulse. Can you say; S:ROS?

--a bigger college football fan than coaster fan

Dude...if you're not in the SEC, it's just college kids playing football.  We ARE the NFL's minor league system, just look at some of the kids they call "college material"...ROFL, might just die laughing!  Seriously, other than Vandy and then some of UF and a few scattered colleges within the universities, this place is academically-speaking a wasteland...BUT, we DO have a good engineering school, so hopefully UF will someday build my GatorCoaster, but I don't THINK they'll build it at SFoG....but until they DO build the GatorCoaster at SFoG, I'll be hoping for an Intamin hyper close to home...but seriously, it TAKES an NFL-ready guy who makes reads and delivers to the right guy, in stride, at the right time, to run this puppy, which right now looks to be in gear!  Just wish we played Miami this year...Hoping RCTitan is the man "in the know"...BIGTIME!

ARROW GUY...I really *heard* SF park from what they were saying AND not saying, but they really wouldn't give anything else OR, just maybe, didn't have it... oh, and BTW, are you REALLY sure there's NO asphalt in that stuff...

I have proof that its definately not a Flyer.  If it was a flyer the Que would be alot lower cuase the B&M design for the flyer is like BTR retracting.  Its not a B&M cuase the Station is too narrow and long.  MY new Guess is either a Giovanola, or a Intamin Hyper.

I'd like to remind everyone voting that this is an Intamin coaster of something posted a few weeks ago. When the first set of photos showing B&M track going to SFNE appeared, the photogropher mentioned being friends with the truck driver whose truck was shown in the photos. The driver made note of having received orders to ship track from the same facility to Montreal (La Ronde) as well as GEORGIA. I really doubt SFoG would be getting a B&M and an Intamin together in the same year. My money is still on B&M for this one.

It's not an Intamin anything so just don't get too overimaginative.... see my post above.  Just because there are I-beams doesn't mean it's Intamin... a lot of coasters use them to hold up the transfer tracks and lifts (Batman).  All season we've heard B+M, those tags and some autoCAD renderings disprove that notion.

As of 12 Nov. Viper is still in the employee dirt parking lot.

Giovanola are NOT out of the coaster business. It was a false rumor.
I heard that Giovanola got out of the design side of the business, but they still are involved in production (e.g. track, cars).

Correct me if I am wrong, though.

while Intamin does use large, round supports, they have only used them on the Impulses.  on their other coasters the only round supports that they use look smaller than the ones in the pics.  what's so wrong with a B&M hyper anyway?  they're great rides.  can't be beat.

as for the football: isn't this a coaster forum? ;)

Jay and Silent Bob have left the building ~Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Oh, another reason why it isn't an impulse:

The footers that have been poured thus far are spread out all over the place.

I have heard nothing about Gio being out of business.  It really doesn't make sense to me.

Everybody, you cant judge the ride from the "station". Anybody whos been to SFOG lately would know that that is Viper's old station, and nobody knows why its still there. It may be there just as a resting area for the workers. It may be transformed into a que house, or it may be modified for the new ride. Just because you see a station that used to house a old ride doesnt mean the new ride has to fit in there. I see that one not being used as the final station, but converted into a middle que building or something. Viper's exit was always cluttered w/people because of its layout, even though nobody ever rode the thing. The problem would be tremendous if used for the flyer. THAT IS MORE THAN LIKELY NOT THE STATION FOR THE RIDE.
The Viper station isn't going to be used for the new ride at all.  It will be remodeled and probably used for storage or maintainence purposes.

The new ride's station is starting to be built a pretty good distance away from the Viper station, too far to be used as a train shed.

Is it going to be the rectangular area in one of those pics that looks to already have circuit breakers being installed? just my 2 cents on that.
Just to clear some stuff up...

I emailed the photographer of the SFoG pics and he said they are indeed B&M parts.

..."Well looks like I goofed. Technically ( I found out today ) the pieces are
not manufactured by B&M but rather from a facility in the US. It is FOR B&M
though..."

Now, what were you guys saying about Intamin?

Yeah, he is a year-round electrician at the park.  Yeah.... what was this "Intamin?"

No hard feelings against you Intamin fans. ;-)
