B&M parts at SFOG!

No, I have not gotten a season pass renewal yet...I'm sure they're waiting until the announcement of the ride is OK'ed.  As for what I call the Breakout Year (notice the question marks, a lame guess at next year's season)...its what will be there next year, considering an entirely newly themed area around the Superman B&M Flyer.

Anyone have pics of this thing? The ones previously posted don't work.
is sfog only getting a coaster for next year? i read somewhere else that they were getting a total of 35 rides or something and i thought it was crazy.  but it also said that they would all be mostly all flat rides to go into the bugs bunny area of the park and i also heard of some flat rides for the new theme (???superman???).  Does anyone know anything about this (is it true)? Also read Below  ===>>>

It has also suggested that the park may remove Ninja (an Arrow multi-looper) and replace it with Drachen Fire, the ill fated Arrow looper that has been standing but not operating at Busch Gardens Williamsburg for several years. The ride would get some extensive track work and possibly new cars. Once the park actually confirms what it will be building we will keep you informed.

The Drachen Fire rumor is old, what I can gather from other posts on here is that it's still at BGW.  Ninja is still at SFOG.  The new coaster will be the only major ride installed next year.  Maybe 1 flat ride but I doubt that.  Definitely not 35.

sfog, the Ninja is staying put for this year, but it is Vekoma product, not Arrow.  Originally called Kamikaze at Dinosaur Beach in NJ, the ride is ROUGH - didn't even take ONE spin when we went to Viper's "wake"...I don't see DF going anywhere, esp. with the price tag BGW has put on the ride...$4.5M is way too much for it....

Yeah, if you look at the date when that rumor came around, it was before the 2001 season started, people were still speculating if we were going to get a deja vu.

I would rather have a Vekoma SLC than Ninja...  check that, heh, I'd rather have a regular ol' vekoma boomerang than Ninja.

Homey G., I'd rather have a sharp stick in the eye...Ninja ranks as one of the VERY few coasters I have NO need to ride again.

And, I might add (back to football), Rex has said he'll be back next year, and Earnest Graham as well.  2002 Gators Championship in the works?  Not if we can't at least break even in terms of the line play!  Run the ball, stop the run, and WIN.  Passing is fun, but not as reliable as a bunch of HUGE linemen bulling over the opposition.

And IF Miami loses to Nebraska, the BCS offices should be demolished.  NO playoff = NO "real" championship...

Back to the task at hand...

Ever quick to be the spoiler..  Screamscape has announced that the new coaster at SFoG has gone vertical and work has begun on the dual loading station..

And Merry Christmas to all..  :o)

SFoG is one of the few SF parks I've been to that DIDN'T have what I have determined is otherwise a company-wide personnel "issue".  Staff there is plentiful, even ABUNDANT, and friendlier than most of the other SF parks in my experience.  Haven't been to the TX parks, so maybe there is something to the rumors of Southern hospitality...;~).  That to me says that BOTH stations could be filled with employees loading/unloading a brand-new B&M hyperflyer...gotta stay hopeful!  This and a 'canes championship in this year, and Gators the next...........and to all a good night...(wink)!

10/18 Rumors & News Update

Six Flags over Georgia, Austell, Georgia

Something that has seemed to go unnoticed about Six Flags over Georgia's 2002 season is that next year is the park's 35th anniversary. Now, that usually means quite a bit for most parks, but could it possibly mean this much?:
'I have heard that next year at SFoG will bring a total of 35 new rides. 3 coasters: An Impulse from Intamin (in place of Freefall), A family Zeirer coaster and - the big [addition] - an Intamin hyper in place of Viper. Also, the kid's section will get 20 new rides (including the Zierer). 8 Flat rides are also on the way including a ThrillShot.'
Now, an Impulse coaster, family coaster and a few flat rides sounds fairly reasonable, but, an Impulse coaster, family coaster, hypercoaster and total of 35 new rides? Can we even hope?
According to this submission, we might be looking at something even more unique for next year in the way of a new coaster:
'I was @ SFOG last weekend and Viper's track is compeltely gone. The whole area was bulldozed up and isn't a small strip of land anymore. I asked an employee and he replied that they're installing a new prototype ride next year, one that hasn't been around until this year.'
That all seems to add up to, you guessed it, an Arrow Dynamics 4D coaster. Could the park be holding off construction until SFMM's X opens, to make sure that the ride is a success?

Yeah i dont think its an Arrow anymore...

That post is complete BS...A B+M has already been confirmed, and it is not an Arrow or Intamin replacing Viper.  I highly doubt they could even fit an impluse in Freefall's spot (especially since Free Fall is still standing as of now).  As much as I want an Intamin hyper, all we'll get is a B&M Flyer, with maybe a flat ride or two and a couple games and/or shops to make up a new section to the park.

BTW: How did that come from CB if CB doesn't even have a News and Rumour Section?  It was removed to kepp garbage like that from getting everywhere.

astrosgp is right... FreeFall's space is pretty small, way too small for an impulse.  Only the gullible will buy that one.
SFOG,

while it is on a coasterbuzz HOSTED site (CoasterNet) that is NOT CoasterBuzz.  Jeff (CoasterBuzz) hosts other sites as well such as Badnitrus, but he is not responsible for their content.

Wonder if we'll see pics of it, as it rises....
After the announcement is made.
that should be soon..... hopefully
I drove past the park this morning, here's what I saw:

It wasn't the clearest day, but I couldn't see anything from I-20. I had to get a little closer, but from the South Service Access Road (wendy's and Sam's) you can see the lift structure supports, definitely B&M Inverted (/=\), through a small gap in the trees. Part of the lift floor is there but the track is not yet attached. You can also see it on Riverside Pkwy through the trees next to that small field by the employee entrance. The lift hill goes up pointing North (the opposite direction that Viper was launched), which kinda surprised me. The Viper station will not have anything to do with the ride, that station was very narrow, no way B+M track could fit in there. Anyways, from now on it will only get taller and easier to see.  I'm sure we'll see some pictures of the lift soon enough...

At Screamscape, it is rumored that this Flyer will not be like AIR & likely to have a Vertical Loop & Barrel Roll or Flat Spin. Sounds great.
