Big Chief announces plans for a new coaster in 2005

I find it funny that with Big Chief's announcing their plans for 2005, we still don't know squat about the S&S woodie for 2004 other than the length, and location. No name, height, speed, anything? Surely there must have been some construction by now seeing as January is nearly finished...

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

I was there a month ago, and all there was to see were some flags, dirt, and equipment.

OK... we have Cyclops, Zeus, and Pegasus. What other good greek mythological names are there that will fit this new coaster?

Well, since Kraken, Medusa, Hercules, Colossus, and Apollo are already taken, there's....

Gods
Ares
Athena
Aphrodite
Artemis
Hera
Hephaestus (sp?)

You forgot Dionysus, the Greek God of Drunkenness and the vine. Dionysus would make a great name for a coaster.;)

^ Only if it's a Vekoma!! ;)
Well there are also the obscure gods like Hestia: Goddess of the Hearth, but who wants to ride "HESTIA: JOURNEY TO SAVE THE HEARTH".

And then we have Hermes... which i personally think would be a great coaster, the Messenger God and God of travellers and Thieves... sounds cool to me.

But i personally like Hades. And I doubt it will be changed under the same reasons that Banshee was changed, after all, Hades is a disney character now...

My doctor once told me I had A.D. ... OOOHHH shiny object! :-)
The name Hermes always reminds me of the "limbo" guy on Futurama!
person, you forgot that Dionysus is also the god of orgys. Now that would make an interesting ride. (Sorry, but I remember in highschool he was one of the greek gods that we had to read about - and you remember orgy stories in highschool)

It's good to see the park expanding. I'll be up that way at the end of Feb. I'll check out construction. Hope it's a long terrain coaster through the tree's and such.

I think this is the best name for a Vekoma:

According to Screamscape the S&S woodie @ Timber Falls will be the tallest, longest and fasterst coaster in Wisconsin which Zeus is currently. So this coaster we know will be bigger than Zeus but it may be smaller than Hades. It looks like Wisconsin will be the new woodie capital of the world especially if the Lincoln Park Comet gets built @ Little-A-Merrick-A in the future this would make it a total of 7 woodies in the dtate include the Little Dipper woodie.

It is a FACT that The Voyage is the greatest thing on the planet!!

According to First Drop the S&S woodie at Timber Falls will be 75' high and 2000' long.

And let's remember folks...when it comes to Hades, "Largest" can be defined in many ways. I suggest you all not get your hopes up too high until stats are announced.

mOOSH

Then either First Drop is wrong, or we have another case of another Dells park lying about stats...

Zeus is 90ft tall and 2900' long. This new one can't be the longest or tallest in Wisconsin with those stats!

Joe, loves incorrect marketing claims

OMG I have a new sig!!!

Thank goodness the stats for R:UE were never released...;)

Screamscape probably just mixed the S&S woodie due for this year with the Big Chief GG woodie for 2005. The S&S woodie was never marketed to be record breaking, in fact, I don't recall it getting any marketing or advertisement at all. :)

Here's to more and more wood in Cheeseland. The Dells have so much opportunity for theme park expansion it's sick!

What is even sicker than that is the tourist trap nature of the town! Still it can be quite fun. But what I would spend in a week elsewhere I could and probably would spend in a day there.

I am all for more wood in the Dells. More amusement parks. More rollercoasters. I am actually surprised it took this long.

Spoken like a man who's never boarded 70' Cyclops.

Playa - I think you misunderstood me.

Many people see the claim "largest" and immediately start thinking "tallest." None of my favorite wooden coasters are over 100' tall and I'm sure I'd love Cyclops when I finally get up there to the Dells. I've heard nothing but good reviews for it.

I'm merely suggesting that people not get their hopes up until stats on this ride are announced.

All I will say is, if you think you think Zeus is fast......
